In a remarkable turn of events, the Jain family celebrated as Ayan Jain, following in his brother Arth Jain's footsteps, achieved the 16th rank in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023, announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday. Ayan, expressing his joy, noted the coincidence of securing the same rank as his elder brother Arth did in the CSE 2020. This achievement brought immense joy to their father, retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Mukesh Jain, marking a significant milestone for the family.

IPS Officers Sons Excel in CSE

Ayan and Arth Jain are both alumni of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Ayan's journey to success was marked by determination and hard work, securing the 16th rank on his third attempt with mathematics as his optional subject. Previously, he had achieved the 87th rank and joined the IPS, emulating his father's career path. Ayan expressed a preference for joining the Madhya Pradesh cadre, contingent on vacancy availability, aiming to serve in the same state as his brother Arth, who is currently an active officer there.

The UPSC conducts the civil services examination annually in three stages: preliminary, main, and interview. This rigorous process selects candidates for prestigious positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and IPS, among others. The preliminary examination for CSE 2023 took place on May 28 last year, drawing a significant number of aspirants.

An official release revealed that out of 10,16,850 applicants, 5,92,141 candidates appeared for the preliminary examination. The mains were conducted in September 2023, with 14,624 candidates qualifying for this phase. Subsequently, 2,855 candidates were shortlisted for the personality test. Ultimately, 1,016 candidates were recommended for various services, with a distribution across general and reserved categories reflecting the UPSC's commitment to inclusive selection.

Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a notable contributor to this year's list of successful candidates, with 27 individuals from the state securing ranks in CSE 2023. This achievement underscores the talent and dedication of aspirants from the region.

The success stories of Ayan and Arth Jain not only highlight individual excellence but also underscore the importance of perseverance and dedication in achieving one's goals. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to many aspiring civil servants across India.
