Hungary Squad Euro 2024: Dominik Szoboszlai named Captain as Magyars name 26-member Squad

By Mykhel Staff

Hungary coach Marco Rossi announced the 26-man squad for the national team for the upcoming Euro 2024.

Hungary has named Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai as the captain for the upcoming tournament, while Rossi also named five injury-replacement players for the upcoming continental tournament.

This is only the 5th appearance for the Magyars in the Euros, and their third consecutive participation. Hungary's best performance in the Euros came in 1964, when they finished third in the competition. And before 2016, they hadn't qualified for the tournament since 1972.

Szoboszlai will be the key player for Hungary in the tournament as the midfielder will be hoping to showcase his leadership and talent on the field. Along with him, forward Roland Sallai will also play a crucial role. Spezia midfielder Adam Nagy is the most experienced player in the squad with 79 appearances, while veteran defenders Attila Fiola and Adam Lang are also picked. RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi will be the player with the custodian roles.

It is going to be a massive test for Hungary, who are placed in Group A with Scotland, Switzerland and hosts Germany.
