Pasadena Playhouse, the official State Theater of California and recipient of the 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award, announced its 2024-2025 season, which will culminate in the 100th anniversary of its building in 2025.

Producing Artistic Director Danny Feldman revealed the mainstage offerings for the upcoming season, including Martin Crimp’s new adaptation of “Cyrano de Bergerac,” a revival of the Tony Award-winning musical “La Cage aux Folles,” Suzan-Lori Parks’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Topdog/Underdog,” and a new play to be announced later as part of the mainstage productions.

In addition to the mainstage productions, the Playhouse will present two special concert events at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. “Anything Goes in Concert,” starring Jinkx Monsoon of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fame as Reno Sweeney, and “Follies in Concert” will be performed on back-to-back weekends.

Season packages, which include the four mainstage productions and one concert event, are now available for purchase. Creative teams and casting will be announced at a later date.

In January 2025, the Playhouse will also host The Next Stage Immersive Summit in partnership with The Immersive Experience Institute. The summit, the largest gathering of its kind worldwide, will attract international guests from various fields, including performing arts, themed entertainment, XR, and gaming.

“We are thrilled to begin our celebration and honor one of the most iconic buildings in the history of the American Theater as it turns 100 years old with a bold and thrilling season of iconic theater,” Feldman said.

Pasadena Playhouse, founded in 1917, has staged thousands of original productions, including premieres by renowned playwrights such as Tennessee Williams, Eugene O’Neill, and Suzan-Lori Parks. For decades, its pioneering School for Theater Arts was a training ground for actors and theatermakers who went on to make significant contributions to the entertainment industry. Danny Feldman has led the Playhouse since 2016 as Producing Artistic Director.

Memberships, the theater’s form of subscription, are now available and offer patrons advanced access to tickets, significant discounts, waived fees, and flexibility. Traditional subscriptions, called Classic Memberships, include pre-assigned seats for all four mainstage productions and one concert event, starting at $350. Dynamic Memberships, starting at $300, provide prepaid access to the same shows but allow patrons to choose their seats before tickets are available to the general public.
