WWE SmackDown: Queen of the Ring match pulled due to controversial video?

Tiffany Stratton was an NXT Standout who took the least time to arrive on the main roster of the WWE, earlier this year. She is also one of the favorites to win the ongoing Queen of the Ring tournament if not the recent controversy changes the plans.

The 2024 WWE King & Queen of The Ring premium live event is set for May 25th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the Jeddah Superdome where the finale of both the King and Queen of the Ring tournament will go down.

Currently, the quarterfinals of the tournaments are underway on the weekly programming of Raw and SmackDown. Tiffany Stratton earned her spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Candice LeRae last week on the blue brand.

She is currently scheduled to face one-half of the WWE Women's tag team champions, Bianca Belair on SmackDown, tonight. But that match is speculated to be uncertain in light of Stratton's posted video featuring Belair's tag team partner, Jade Cargill.

Fan backlash erupted when Tiffany posted a now-deleted video on her Instagram story where it was seen she was slapping Cargill with a voiceover saying "Black bi***." Laughing emojis were also added as Bianca Belair was watching.

Criticisms were on and rumours suggested that WWE might have canceled Stratton vs. Cargill on this week's SmackDown. A new report by PWInsider scrapped the thought as this match is still scheduled, and there has been no change in plans.

Furthermore, sources have indicated that Tiffany Stratton is not facing any internal trouble and has received massive praise from management and other talents since joining the roster. This mishap didn't change her position within the company.

That being said, The Center of the Universe will be seen in action on the May 17 episode of SmackDown that takes place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The currently confirmed match card for the show goes as follows:

  • Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul contract signing
  • King of the Ring quarterfinals: Randy Orton vs. Carmelo Hayes
  • King of the Ring quarterfinals: Tama Tonga vs. LA Knight
  • Queen of the Ring quarterfinals: Nia Jax vs. Jade Cargill
  • Queen of the Ring quarterfinals: Bianca Belair vs. Tiffany Stratton
