Lake Lucerne was another beautiful lake that we saw in Switzerland. At Lucerne, the lake had mooring facilities for steamers and a broad pedestrian walkway to enjoy fair length of the beautiful water front that was close to the city. There were many species of wetland birds including Mute Swans, many types of Ducks, Gulls, Coots etc. The 19th century steamers were an added attraction with each steamer having its own character and elegance. Lake was a very convenient passage to travel to Beckenried, Brunnen, Fluelen, Vitznau and Weggis. Lake Lucerne’s beauty was enhanced by the bordering mountain ranges that were visible in its far side. To see its beautiful surroundings and feel the environment we did a boat tour which took us deeper to the interior. We were able to discover the hidden charm and tranquility. Awesome!

Lake Geneva on Montreux was mind blowing. The massive lake with its calm water and grand background with rolling land made a picturesque sight. Montreux promenade with manmade features and eye-catching landscape was very attractive. A walk along the promenade was so soothing and relaxing. Most importantly the air was so fresh and exhilarating. The 19th century peddle steamers added extra attraction with their vintage appearance taking us back in time. All the large lakes make magnificent pictures but Lake Geneva stretching to Montreux was extraordinarily beautiful.

I enjoyed the trip by train there. The view was breathtaking and I later learned that it was a part of the world known Glacier Express. Zermatt was a beautiful town. Food was good. The Matterhorn scenery was magnificent. One day trip was too short for me.

Was a great train ride to Gornergrat.
Beautiful sunny day and the climb is spectacular.
So much beautiful scenery and the top was full of snow.
So cool to have a fresh breeze and white perfect snow.
We were a bit lost in the snow but had view of the train track
Love it and what a memory. Just take time to do.

The views are amazing and unbelievable. A must do in Switzerland. Coming down the mountain by the cogwheel train was incredible.

Lake Zurich while adding beauty to the city was having a fantastic environment for cooling off. Very relaxing space with a park in one bank with paved pathways providing the access to areas where one could engage in water sports like sailing or swimming. It was evident that this area was popular with sun bathers and picnickers as well. We too spend time relaxing under the shade of the trees on the bank, watching bird life and activities that were going on in water.

The bridge is not as interesting as the other nearby wooden bridge (the paintings of the other are just sightly more notable!) but it's an excellent spot offering beautiful views

We absolutely loved Old Town with its awesome shops, clean streets, delicious restaurants, and history everywhere. Loved the main shopping streets as well as along the river banks. Such an amazing city!!

It was amazing to watch the massive column of water cascading through the two gaps with a drop of the river Rhine. The fall was so impressive that we were gazing at it for several hours observing the rhythmic flow and skilful manoeuvring of sight-seeing boats against the sheer current that the fall was generating. It was a thrill to take the boat trip to the centre island and look at the upper river and the massive water body that squeezes its way down the drop, crashing into the base below creating thunderous ripples. It was a great thrill to sail in front so close to the fall and enjoy the wetting by the atomised water spray that evolved from the force of the drop. It was absolute fun and an experience that would never be repeated often.

From Mt. Rigi you will get to see one of the most impressive views that includes a far view towards the flatland just as the majestic mountains of the Swiss Alps.

The mountain also gives you the possibiliy to go for some hikes and for a break you can stop by and grab food or a coffee.

Whilst a previous reviewer may be correct in pointing out that lots of places are loads on Sunday, if you aren't interested in shopping then this shouldn't be too much of an issue. There are plenty of interesting things to see in this town which are open on Sunday, such as the churches. And you can admire the beautiful green buildings!
