We had the privilege of visiting Zahara for a couple of hours in November. This was part of a private tour that we took out of Seville to Ronda. The company we used was booked via Trip Advisor with a company Naturanda Turismo Ambiental. Getting here was very interesting as the road were pretty curvy to the top. He actually had one person who gets car sick sit in the front of the van. Parking up top is a challenge to say the least. Small church which was nice to visit. The views are spectacular. Just such a quaint village that was pretty empty when we got there but there was a fair number of tourists by the time we left. If you have any way of getting there, I would definitely make the effort to visit. Loved our visit. Enjoy.

We managed to drive up the steep road and snag a spot which was good as it was almost 110 degrees. You can go up in summer until 10pm (last ticket at 9:15pm) -it's a pretty large compound but we went straight up to the tower which is amazing - one of the best examples of Moorish towers. the small museum/excavation site was interesting too. It's a steep climb with many stair and a rugged path so not for the faint of heart. Maybe best not to let kids run around as there were a few place you could fall to your death if you weren't paying attention (not so much for adults but for small kids).
We loved our visit and enjoyed the views and the short history lessons through the signs.

We took this fun hike on a rainy day and enjoy a private view from the top. It was quite slippery but worth it! Very beautiful. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues as it is a moderate hike.

From other reviews it's good to see the 'donations' have been done away with and the paltry €2 entrance fee requested by the immaculate demure Mary could surely not offend.

Beautiful church both inside and out, was struck by the warm temperatures on entering and the wonderful scent, again, one suspects, care of Mary. stunning stain glass depictions added to our enjoyment as did an impromptu debate with a German couple on Catholic iconography - delightful!

We have liked this place very much since it was the only possibility for a nice and cool swim. A little river is led through the pool so that there is clean, cool and refreshing water. HOWEVER, go there on a weekday, be there no later than 11:00 and bring your own food, since the place can be very crowded.

A magical place in the hot mountains. And those vultures. I recommend it, but it's not easy😊 Take water with you, because in the summer there is none in the canyon. And good condition. Beautiful and interesting nature.

This lonely castle ruin on hill top commands spectacular views over the villages and surrounding reservoir that extend miles and miles around the Sierra de Grazalema. Even the locals were unsure of the name of the castle; some say it's called Nazari Castle, some say it's called Castle Keep, Castle Hold. I am just happy that I have been and, spent a week on the picturesque remote village.

On a 100 degree day, after walking what felt like a mile straight vertical, it was a beautiful sight to see El Gallo and stop for the coldest Cruz Campo I've ever had! The staff were very nice and the prices were very reasonable! Definitely a local hangout and right near the church and some small shops. If we're back in Zahara we will definitely return!

My wife and I had a private tour (Maybe because it was October!) of the facility! Our guide, Fran, was very knowledgable and explained the processing of the olives into oil- Fran kept it interesting as we moved through the plant. At the end we were treated to a tasting of the various types of oils and were educated about the nuances of each. This is a must see- and yes, we bought a case of this beautiful oil to have sent home!
