A woman who used someone else’s identity to purchase $12,000-worth of cosmetic surgery, including breast implants and liposuction, was sentenced Monday to 180 days in jail and three years’ probation, according to court records.

Medical staff at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery in Huntington Beach became suspicious of Yvonne Jean Pampellone when she went in to the center to have surgery done in 2008, but failed to show up for follow-up appointments.

Pampellone, of Laguna Niguel, was accused of going into the center and opening up a line of credit under someone else’s name. According to police, she was looking to have liposuction and have her breast implants replaced.

Pampellone’s identity was later traced down by detectives and medical staff through the tracking numbers on her first implants. Staff at the center then identified her through a photo lineup.

Authorities released her picture to the media and Pampellone turned herself in to police the following day in March 2009.

Pampellone was facing more than three years in prison for the crime. After she pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary, grand theft and unauthorized use of personal identifying information she was sentenced Monday to eight months in prison and three years’ probation.

She was also ordered to pay restitution.
