- Ypsilanti_SteveYpsilanti, MI81 contributionsDepot Town in Ypsi has 5 great restaurants and 2brew pubs (with more coming soon). There are also 2 museums. In the summer there is a weekly farmers market and classic car night.Written November 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SharonB231Toledo, OH1,203 contributionsThis is a small but nice museum in Depot Town. It is located in an old dealership. There are 3 rooms. The room you enter the museum in has a variety of cars including a Delorean and a race car which you can sit in for a photo. The room on the right is all Corvairs and the room on the left has Hudson and Essex automobiles. Museum is small but nice and worth a visit if you are in the area.Written June 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SharonB231Toledo, OH1,203 contributionsThis museum was much more than we expected. There is a firehouse kitchen and bunkhouse to view upstairs. In the basement is a nice play area and some other fire memorabilia. There are many fire trucks here on the first floor. Some exhibits are of fire patches, hats, toys and bells. This is a fire museum worth a visit.Written June 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- aasteve802Plymouth, MI48 contributionsThe park is nice and clean. My only frustration was with the concession stand. There were not many offerings - everything was sold out or otherwise not available. If outside food and drink is not allowed, there should be more than Diet Pepsi, hot dogs and chips available. Prices were reasonable on the few items that were available.Written August 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AmyS383Woking, England, United Kingdom83 contributionsA wonderful gem. Offered and took a personal tour from the guide Liz who was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
The museum is set out as an 1860s house with exhibits from domestic life of the period, giving an authentic feel. Other displays link the town to the civil war, the Underground Railroad, motor manufacturing and war plane production.
The museum has the feel of a lived in home and a relaxed atmosphere. Many of the artefacts are fascinating including an Edison cylindrical gramophone and an early washing machine.
The visit was a real treat and I loved every minute.
It’s free and although donations are not sought , they are gratefully received.Written September 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was born and grew up in South Vietnam during the war time. Standing in the front of this memorial, the scenes and sounds of the past war appears lively in my mind! It is with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for your great service and sacrifice!Written June 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marianne MYpsilanti, MI22 contributionsI live in the area and come to this park on walks all the time so I've seen it at many different times of the day and many days of the week. There is a great picnic pavilion with tables and grills and a well-maintained restroom building. While it's always been very quiet when I've visited, perfect for a nice quiet place to read a book and relax, for those who are interested in more activity you can fish in the Huron River or use the newly built launch area to launch your kayak or canoe or row-boat. It's a great place for bringing small kids if you want to teach them to fish, and a great place to put in on the River. There is a path all the way around the park with a boardwalk down to the river just below Ford Lake Dam. Bring a picnic, bring the family, bring a blanket and a fishing rod and a kayak. set up your lawn games for a family get-together. If you're looking to get back to nature, this is your location.Written November 6, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
