According to Connie, Hope's "a natural beauty!"
Holy cow! She’s gorgeous
Was? She still is. She just doesnt dye her hair or get plastic surgery. She is amazing. Shes been married to michael mckean forever (laverne&shirley, spinal tap). Id die to have dinner with them. Both so funny.
She's also hilarious and has written music with Michael McKean for stuff like A Mighty Wind. She's an amazing woman, just her character sucks. She plays it well though, squeezes every last drop of annoying out for Hope.
She sure does! I wish they'd give this great actress a more fun character. Maybe Hope'll be a "changed woman" afteralmost dying (for the second time) (maybe I'm hoping for too much).
Pun intended?
Her beauty is still so obvious, but they for sure dress her character down in the show. I had no idea she was married to Michael McKean! That blows my miiiiind
Yes - she is still gorgeous. I actually do appreciate that she hasn't gotten plastic surgery (let woman age naturally, for God's sake!) and I could care less if she dyes her hair. And I get that Annette O'Toole being funny or kind is more important than how she looks (and I get that 'how she looks' is 'pretty fabulous', especially for a woman who's about to turn 70).
I just found this young photo of her surprising. I'd never tied the "Virgin River" actress to the lady who played Lana Lang in Superman III (haven't seen Superman III in a long long time). The fact that they were in fact both Annette O'Toole really surprised me! I mean, she looks amazing, but 40 years does make a tiny bit of a difference in recognition (and maybe the hair color).
Yes! This is what a woman looks like when she ages naturally. She looks wonderful!
I am aging very unnaturally but i love her so much for being herself ❤
Not not not
This photo just made me realize she's the adult Beverly in Stephen King's IT
She was Lana Lang to Christopher Reeve’s Superman! And then Superman’s Mom on Smallville. Crazy!
If that don’t blow off your knickers!! She was stunning!
I think she still has smoke show potential but the character has nnnnOoooooooo interest!
Next you're going to tell me that Connie was a knockout.
Sorry, this is the best I can do for you.
This difference is unlike Connie, Hope is gorgeous now as a mature woman. It’s pretty obvious that she would be a knock out when younger.
You just reposted the top post on this sub lol
Not knowingly. And this is not a repost: I searched the internet, found this photo, copied the link, and posted here. So it's an original post (apparently on the same topic others may have posted on before). I'm not omniscient, so....
This is the exact same photo as posted by user named calgary132454 lol.
I don't get your point. Why are you coming back multiple times to tell me this? You must REALLY HATE reposts or something. But as I said, I did not repost this. I posted it originally and genuinely on my own. I can't help it if someone else had a similar thought to me. That's how the world works, move on.
Lol sure
Uh yea. She used to be in some Lifetime Movies too. Something about jewels.
This post feels icky.
She still looks the same, just not in full glam makeup and hair.
This post feels... "icky?"
I assume you're wanting me to pretend I don't have eyeballs in service of the message "age has zero effect on societal standards of beauty" or "makeup doesn't make a woman beautiful?"
I think I'm responding defensively to your word "icky" - it feels like you're attacking me. But I want to be rational here. I agree that societal standards of beauty are both sexist and ageist. But for better or worse, they exist and they're hard for our brains not to register. Do you expect that all men and women will be attracted to a 70-year-old woman as easily as they would to a 30-year-old woman? That's just not evolutionarily reasonable.
Let me ask you this: if I'd posted this photo of Annette O'Toole instead, would it still feel "icky" to you? I'd be perfectly happy to exchange it.
Either way, she does not "still look the same." That's just disingenuous. Tom Hanks is looking pretty good for his age, but he does not "still look the same" as he did in "Big," for example. I think finding the photo of an actor or actress we appreciate today in their 60s or 70s when they were young men or women can be a shocker. Have you seen old vs. young Marlon Brando? Or old vs. young Sean Connery? Or old vs. young Helen Mirren? Come on, you have eyes in your head just like me. Right?
Actually, note to self, that other photo (linked above) of Hope looks like she could be Mel's sister! ...more than Mel's sister, for sure.
She and Michael McKean are soooo funny on Twitter!
IKR she’s so pretty and what’s funny is my teacher said this exact same thing in class last month
If you want to see young Annette O'Toole in all her glory, check out her movie with Martin Short, "Cross My Heart." She was really impressive. Believe me. 😁
She still looks great as seen in this photo from her Twitter account. As Hope, they have dowdied her down with no makeup and, as a comedic actress, her facial expressions and body language do the rest. Just proves what a great actress she is. https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1025895212957265921/QTv3hEft.jpg
She was mediocre at best and quite frankly she's pretty ugly now and also a terrible character on the show
Yikes! You're entitled to your opinion, but this seems like a pretty rough thing to come here and say. You must really dislike her both as a character and an actress to take time out of your day to not scroll by but type out how disgusting she is to you. <shrugs> Feel better now?
Don't know her at all as an actress, don't have to to have an opinion solely on her looks, which is what this post is about. She's literally one of the most hideous human beings I've ever seen now that she's old, she looked okay in that picture you posted but gorgeous is an outrageous hyperbole. Yes her character was completely insufferable throughout the entire show and I really hope she never wakes from her coma.
Feel better now?
She is gorgeous. A classic beauty with amazing bone structure. She chose to let herself age naturally.
I first saw her in the remake of Cat People with Nastasia Kinski.
Umm yeah. She was superman's high school love interest.
She’s an actress who makes a living in the public sphere. Maintaining a beauty standard is part of the job description. Honestly I’m surprised she’s still employable.
Her character is super annoying but she is still beautiful
