If you want to see entertaining hockey and get in some good people watching, this is your spot. The players offer plenty of entertainment on the ice, and the student section fills in the rest.

We were there for a youth hockey game. It is worth checking out if you are a hockey fan all. Great old building - interesting architecture. I have never seen a college game there but it must be amazing based on the amount of seats and proximity to the ice surface. Located next to the baseball and softball fields as well as a track if you want to go for a walk. Always impressed when "new" is added and the "old" is not lost - and that is what this is all about. Likely can get in at no cost if Michigan is not playing.

Yost Ice arena is an old school, barn-like arena. Great place to watch a college hockey game -- if you can get a ticket!

We were there for a big event, and the actual ice was nice, but there is very little parking, the actual facility is not nice and there is very little space left around the rink, so it is always crowded. Even though the actual rink was nice, I would never want to go back there.

This is a pretty big place for a college hockey team. Access is pretty easy. Nice place to see a game.

Been there 100s of times over the years. Awesome atmosphere thanks to band and Children of Yost. Team results help as always. Good selection of Michigan gear. Staff is very welcoming.

Staff was very accommodating, especially to our young ice skater. Very friendly, the smell of the ice was awesome in this historical arena where the magic has been happening for years.

I love Yost. This is a really beautiful ice arena and the band and student section make it really fun. The students are cheering and the band is playing the entire time. Last time I went, I noticed a lot of parents with babies wearing protecting headphones. So if you have sensitive ears, maybe buy tickets away from the band.
Michigan hockey is great! They even had an open skate right after the game and you could rent skates if you want.
Tip: If you're in the stands, bring a stadium cushion if you have one. Maybe some day we can splurge on the fancy seats. Go Blue!

Yost is a fantastic arena for viewing college hockey. The hockey games are so much fun and more intimate than the football games. Expect to cheer the entire game and do a little smack talking as well!

There is some parking onsite and you can park there during open ice skating. During events like hockey games, you can park there but many people park across State Street in adjacent neighborhood.
