Looking for an ID to be made for a friend. I went into one store and they were asking $50 and another asked for $75. Anything cheaper than these in Toronto?

She's from Winnipeg so no, that doesn't apply.

Have no idea what "novelty ID" is. Care to elaborate?

Cmon guys we were all 18 once. $50 is a bargain. I had to use more questionable methods to get an ID when I was that age and would've killed for a $50 option. Easy to judge when you're already past that stage in life innit? That said I doubt you'll find cheaper. Good luck, and remember it's for novelty/entertainment purposes only ;)

Ask the person you buy weed from, they'll definitely know

Yeah 50$ is pretty cheap, I don't think they were much less than that way back when I cared to know how much they cost. And then inflation.

Just walk down Yonge street from Bloor to Dundas. There are several and they advertise right in their front windows. It is legit - they do something benign like relocate the position of a logo or hologram and that makes them perfectly legal to make and sell. Using them as ID is another story - the onus is on the person passing off the fake as a real one to not do anything illegal, but most people who check for fakes won't catch the minor discrepancies so they usually get away with it.

Lol I don't buy weed, find it to be a waste of money. And alcohol in general. PX My friend is going to Hawaii next month for a week or so, which is why she's looking. Otherwise she's fine in Canada.

And yeah, I dropped by a couple on Yonge but wasn't sure if they were ripping me off or not since I've never night one before. :s

"Novelty" ID cards
4/27/2015 -
Unless your friend looks super young I doubt they will care in Hawaii. They are pretty laid back there- been 3 times and I've always seen people that I would question getting served. That being said you could get a novelty one - they won't have a clue what a Canadian ID looks like anyways - majority of US cities don't. Trust me..i get carded all the time...lol

I bought one when I was 17... I had no friends that looked like me.
It was by the Eaton Centre. It only worked for buying cigarettes for my brother... And lottery tickets.
It got taken away at the first drinking establishment I attempted to use it at. HAHHAHA good times.4/28/2015 -

I had fake ID (well, it was someone elses real ID) that worked regularly for almost 3 years. The funny thing is when I went out for my 19th birthday, when it wasn't my birthday until midnight, sure enough that was the night that it gotten taken by a bouncer. So I wait til midnight and go back to the bar with real ID, and the bouncer actually bought me a beer for taking my fake one.

I went a bit risque and borrowed a friend's non-picture ID's (SIN card, health card) and went to an adjacent province with a fake school address to get an ID card, claiming I'd lost the one from my home province. It was nerve-racking through standing to get my picture taken while seeing a big sign at the counter stating something like "Do not try to attempt to create fake identification. You will be caught and prosecuted". It worked though, and I was bar-hopping with my older friends shortly thereafter. It was a real ID with fake credentials. I won't disclose what provinces were involved, though I'm sure the statute of limitations has passed so I should be ok ;)

Nice one Tom we did the same thing in highschool except we didn't leave the province it used to work just as well at the MTO but not anymore because they won't take a new picture when you report a lost driver's license now...back in the day the scheme went like this:
Step 1: underage friend visits MTO with two pieces of non-photo I.D. belonging to friend 19 years or older (we used SIN and birth certificate).
Step 2: underage friend completes lost driver's license form using older friend's I.D. & info
Step 3: underage friend issued "replacement" driver's license with new picture & older friend's info (they used to do this on the spot, now they mail new license w/ older photo on file)
Step 4: older friend returns to different MTO location next day reports lost license and is issued new license with correct pic & deets.
Step 5: Hit strip club with new I.D.'s and toast a drink to your adolescent ingenuity!4/30/2015 -

$50 was the going rate back when I collected novelty ID's ;). if you haggled well enough, you could get a novelty drivers license and student card for $60. If they're swipable, then $50 isn't bad at all.

Humm there is a SW program bug. The last poster shouldn't be able to post a new message on a thread that is 4 years old
