Installing Yahoo messenger with Windows 7

I have had my laptop since around August 1, 2009. I made an attempt to install Yahoo Messenger while it had Windows Vista, and I got the message Installation Unsuccessful. I recently installed the Windows 7 upgrade and I still get the same message when I attempt to install Yahoo Messenger.

Have you tried right-clicking on any Setup.exe and selecting the "Run As Administrator" option?

What is the exact message you get when you try to install Yahoo, does it give you any further details as to why it was unsuccessful?  Is there any logging from Setup, perhaps in your Temp folder?  Type %temp% in the Start Menu RUN box to access the Temp folder.  While you are there clean out the Temp folder of everything that Windows allows you to delete.

·         Are you able to install other programs apart from Yahoo Messenger without any issues?
·         Are you able to download the Yahoo messenger successfully?

You might get this message if you are installing wrong version of Yahoo messenger on your computer.

Try downloading the suitable version of Yahoo messenger for your computer and check.

If you are still unable to install, temporarily disable the security software on the computer and try installing it. Ensure to enable the security software back on the computer.

I would suggest that you contact Yahoo for further assistance on this issue.
