Public Transportation to the South Rim
Grand Canyon National Park's SOUTH RIM (open all year) is located 60 miles north of Williams, Arizona (via route 64 from Interstate 40) and 80 miles northwest of Flagstaff (via route 180). The Grand Canyon lies entirely within the state of Arizona.
There is limited air service into Grand Canyon Airport (7 miles/ 11km south of the park) from Las Vegas and elsewhere.
Bus/Van:
A list of companies issued Commercial Use Authorizations by the National Park Service to conduct tours at Grand Canyon National Park can be found on a sortable table at www.nps.gov/grca/getinvolved/cua-list.htm.
Taxi services are allowed to operate in Grand Canyon National Park without a CUA. This service is not listed on the above link.
Train:
Amtrak provides rail service to Flagstaff with connecting bus service to the canyon.
Grand Canyon Railway offers daily train service from Williams, Arizona (for additional information call: 1-800-THE-TRAIN).

This spring, three shuttle bus routes are in service from March 1, through May 24, 2024. Kaibab Rim (Orange) Route, right, transports visitors to S. Kaibab Trailhead and outstanding views at Yaki Point. Village (Blue) Route, center, connects Visitor Center with lodges, campgrounds, Backcountry Information Center, and Market Plaza (market, outdoor ATM, post office). Hermit Road (Red) Route travels a 7-mile scenic road with spectacular overlooks. Tusayan (Purple) Route resumes service summer 2024.
