can connect to the network but not the internet running xp

route print
The result of this printout should include a "0.0.0.0" line that points to your router like this:
Network Destination Netmask Gateway Interface Metric
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.200 20
If there are more than one "0.0.0.0" lines, use the one with the lower "Metric" number. This redirects all packets not in your local network to the gateway.
You might also read the manual to your router. Some routers have security settings that can be set to only allow certain computers to access the internet.
Sometimes the following program can fix problems when nothing else works:
WinSockXPFix: < http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html >

3. Power up router.
4. Power up PC.
