Rain is more arrogant than ever and uses a weapon from India; Mortal Kombat 11 developers have updated the character in more ways than one

We got our first in-depth look at Rain in Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate thanks to this week's Kombat Kast, and it's become apparent that the Prince-inspired prince has been updated quite a bit for his latest MK appearance.

Senior QA Analyst at NetherRealm Studios, Stephanie "16-bit" Brownback, gave us both a gameplay showcase and spoke a bit about Rain's personality, story, and arsenal... some of which have evolved since we last saw him.

Here are three of the most stylish and jaw-dropping Beerus combos you've never seen in Dragon Ball FighterZ

When you're not the greatest character amid a roster filled with plenty of heavy hitters constantly distracting audiences with their frustratingly powerful fireworks, it can be a real climb to get people to take you seriously again... even if you're a god of destruction.

Enter Beerus in Dragon Ball FighterZ, (yes, he's still in the game) who has garnered new faith from EG|SonicFox thanks to a handful of buffs in Season 3. It seems the purple cat is getting a second chance by more and more members of the community, and a user by the name of TaliosDrakei has come up with a few exceptionally stylish combos that, while perhaps not the most practical, will certainly get Dragon Ball FighterZ fans on the edges of their seats.

The Phantom of the Opera isn't the most popular Universal Monster but he would make a great fighting game character

Dracula, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein's monster, the Mummy, and other popular Horror movie tropes have found their way into fighting games over the years in one way, shape, or form. They're strong choices due to their high recognition, and if you're not going straight for the most famous slashers like Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, or Leatherface, a good option for a fighting game is to create a new character based on a Universal classic monster.

Making my way back through the Universal Monster films in time for Halloween brought me to a trope I don't think I've ever seen represented in a fighting game. Erik, the Phantom of the Opera, is a trickster, a fighter, a maniac, and has supernatural powers at his disposal, and though he typically isn't the most popular of the Universal bunch, I think he would make a great fighting game character if he were the basis for a fighting game combatant.

Street Fighter 5 developers: There are still undiscovered secrets regarding Zeku, G, and Byron Taylor

Capcom is continuing its updated communication practices with fans of Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition as director, Takayuki Nakayama, and producer, Shuhei Matsumoto took some time to chat with Spin in an interview that released just today.

From reflections on SF5's turbulent beginnings to general approaches in connecting the dots in terms of this portion of the franchise's story, there's plenty of interest for fans of Street Fighter 5 here. That said, one part stood out to us as particularly intriguing as Nakayama directly shared the fact that there are undiscovered secrets still waiting to be discovered, and he gave us three places to look.

The first Krushing Blow in Rambo's Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay trailer is a direct homage to a scene in First Blood

Mortal Kombat 11 fans got their first look at an extra buff armful of Rambo's attacks today thanks to the incoming DLC character's gameplay trailer, and while there's plenty to appreciate on the surface level with beautifully animated attacks and gruesome kill moves, we'd be remiss if we didn't keep a keen eye out for clever references to the source material.

NetherRealm Studios has become increasingly liberal with such references with their DLC guests, and while just over 30 seconds into today's showcase we got a direct callback to the police station scene from First Blood. Minor spoilers ahead for First Blood.

Which season of Street Fighter 5's DLC characters is most dominant right now?

The DLC roster size has now eclipsed the 16-character base selection for Street Fighter 5 after four seasons of new fighters including some of the most dangerous additions in the competitive scene between Akuma, Urien and others.

With the final season of content for SF5 looming in the next few months, we thought it'd be a great time to figure out which batch of DLC characters as a whole is currently making the biggest waves in the Champion Edition based on hard data.

Nintendo has censored Steve's very suggestive victory animation where he quite literally holds his meat in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's 9.0.1 patch

Patch 9.0.1 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available. According to Nintendo's released notes, the patch only implemented bug fixes that were caused by interactions with Minecraft's Steve.

Online tournaments are causing drama in the FGC, are we ready for this new horizon or do we need more time?

The online 2020 Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals officially kicked off over the weekend and... immediately ran into a snag that's now threatening the event's integrity as a whole as ChrisG declared on Twitter after his round one loss that he'd be removing himself from the remainder of the round robin style event.

Such alterations in an already underway round robin tournament are absolute wrenches in the gears, and while the FGC waits to see how this pans out we also recall lag-incited drama from multiple Capcom Pro Tour Online brackets in recent months. The successes and failures of online events this year leave the FGC with an updated view of this style of competition, and we have to question whether or not we're quite ready for it yet.

This patch's focus was entirely on fixing bugs caused by Steve's moveset. Outside of that, no balance adjustments are present. Having said that, replays from 9.0.0 that involved Steve can no longer be viewed.

Here are five things about Dragon Ball FighterZ that you probably didn't know about as outlined by LordKnight

Like almost any other fighting game, Dragon Ball FighterZ holds a few secrets that some players might not know about. BC|LordKnight has recently uploaded a video that details five things about Dragon Ball FighterZ that you probably didn't know about.

Did you know that forward and medium attack becomes special cancellable while Sparking Blast is active? As this is typically an overhead attack for every character, having yet another mix up that leads to a combo is obviously useful in a game like Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Steve has some of the best attacks in the game but is crippled by weaknesses, here's my review of the Minecraft rep in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Minecraft's Steve is certainly a unique addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Although he's the 82nd challenger to join the roster, his playstyle is unlike any other in the game.

At first glance, Steve might appear to be an extremely complex character because he has to keep track of six different resources (wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond and red stone), but players really only need to keep track of how much iron they have. Gold, diamonds and red stones are also important, but it's fairly easy to keep track of these resources as they are separate from the other meter.

Capcom confirms which netcode changes happened in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition's latest update

Last week, Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition saw an update that seemingly added some improvements to the game's netcode. Due to the wording of the patch notes, however, many in the community wanted additional clarification on what the patch notes were doing in game.
