"Warcraft 2" working title upcoming movie

Any word/rumors on whether or not there will be a 2nd Warcraft movie? I hear the movie did pretty well internationally.

The movie was okay, rather good for a video game movie, but, objectively, it wasn’t a good Warcraft movie. I would much rather see an HBO Warcraft series with a good budget.

I thought I’d not like it, and while it was not ‘Powell and Pressburger’ it did eat up a couple of hours pleasurably.

I’ve heard it said it was not a good Warcraft film. Perhaps this is fair. I would not mind seeing a sequel drop in around the plague and the Arthas Saga.

It also allows them to put things like WC3 into series form something that would be way harder to do with a film. WC3’s story is just way too interconnected for one film without leaving a ton out something a series would have an advantage over.

I really like the Warcraft movie. It was cringe in some parts and cheesy, but overall I enjoy it a lot.

Even my non-wow players went to see it with me and we had a good time.

Marketing. I double checked. Sabbia is correct it lost about 15 million theatrically, but they probably made that back with video on demand, dvd sales, and licensing rights…

Being the Warcraft fan that I am, I made sure to buy a million copies of the DVD at $15 apiece so that the movie would at least break even. (No, not really … I just bought one DVD/BR combo set.)

i think it only did well in china? idk about other countries but for sure not the US. i think they should make a new one or at least some sort of i guess cgi or animated series/shows especially about the lore

Back in September, a bunch of news outlets reported Warcraft 2 was casting with Chris Pratt being approached for a role and Peter Jackson directing. There’s been no news since then. I assume COVID borked a lot of plans.
