Cheats Overview
Using and activating cheats in GTA 3 on the Nintendo Switch is a simple process. Follow these steps to make the most of the available cheat codes:
Create a new save file
:Before using any cheats, create a separate save file to ensure that your non-cheats progress remains unaffected. This is important because some cheats may impact your ability to earn Achievements, and certain cheats are irreversible.
Choose your desired cheats
:See our list of GTA 3 cheat codes for the Switch below and select the cheats that you want to use.
Enter the cheat code
:To activate a cheat, enter the corresponding button combination on your controller without pausing the game. Make sure to input the buttons quickly and in the correct order for the code to register successfully.
Troubleshoot if needed
:If the cheat code doesn’t work on your first attempt, try the following:
- Ensure that you are entering the button combination quickly and accurately.
- Adjust your controller layout by switching between the “classic” and “modern” settings in the options menu. After changing the layout, try entering the code again.
Confirm cheat activation
:When you successfully trigger a cheat, a small pop-up message will appear on the screen, indicating that the cheat is now active.

The “invisible cars,” “speed up time,” and “increased gore” cheat codes do not work in the definitive edition of GTA 3 on the Switch.
