I can imagine that the only people would even contemplate the mere _existence_ of a product like this are wine lovers. That said, my doctor suggested that it wasn't a wild long-term proposition to drink one to one and a half bottles of wine a night. Doctors.. what do THEY know.
"But Doctor!", I said. "Surely you don't expect me to waste the rest of a bottle of a fine Burgundy because I only want a single glass!"
Enter the Coravin. Provided your bottles have NATURAL CORK you can jam this thingamabobber into the top and pour, albeit slowly, a glass. Then, a month or even a year later you can do it again. I must again emphasize the need for natural cork. Synthetic cork does not seal well and all the reviews indicating leakage are almost guaranteed to be from users that failed to read that part of the manual when attempting to preserve their Boone's Farm.
The refill cartridges are a little costly but let's not forget that we've purchased one of the single snobbiest things to own (outside of a wine cellar). It comes with the territory (or, if you will, the terroir).
The screw-cap gizmo is nice to have. It's not often that I feel compelled to preserve a wine with a screw cap but it's terrific if you want to serve the wine over the course of a few weeks. I'm happy that I have one on hand.
I'm not always positive that I'm using the thing correctly. I've watched videos and such and I feel like I'm doing it right but there's very little indication that anything is happening. Time will tell, I suppose.

You won’t regret buying one, unless you can’t afford to replace the apparently consumable needles from time to time.
