How To Add Old Age "Film" Effect in Windows Movie Maker - Microsoft Community

How To Add Old Age "Film" Effect in Windows Movie Maker 12?

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is any way on how to access an "old-aged" film on Windows Movie Maker version 12? The only version that can be accessed in Windows 10?

By the way, is there a package full of visual effects on how to do this? Or, can I get the older version of WMM?

I got Windows Movie Maker 12 today, and I was hoping if you guys could help me with the visual effect I have to access.

Thanks!

Unfortunately the "Film Age" effects that were present from version 2.0 to 6.0 of Movie Maker were not carried forward to the Windows Live Movie Maker 2009 (beta) up through to Movie Maker 2012. Furthermore, Microsoft never published any details on how to customize the effects in these later versions, so there would be no way to add the effect even if someone wanted to.

If these effects are important to you, you can still install Windows Movie Maker 6.0 which is the last of the "classic" line of Windows Movie Maker. It has the traditional timeline and allows for the community to contribute custom transitions and effects, unlike the newer version.
