Visited November 2023. We were traveling with our furbaby and were pleased he could accompany us in all the outdoor areas. Very welcoming staff. Very pet friendly. We took turns entering the visitor center, church, glassblowing exhibit and museum. Don’t miss the on-site Archaearium Archaeology Museum. Really fascinating exhibits and nice gift shop. Also be sure to take the Colonial Historical Pkwy out to the Black Point Trail. The drive is lovely. We saw deer and bald eagles. The view from the point is worth the short hike.

We stayed at Williamsburg Woodlands hotel, it was very nice there and was great to be in walking distance of everything. They do have a shuttle, but we enjoyed the walk to the exhibits and shopping. The hotel was very clean, reasonable priced and the staff was very helpful. I really liked how the had the breakfast. It was a lot of fresh, good fruit (no green or brown bananas) They had cups of pineapple and other fruits. They also had breakfast burritos and sausage muffins everyday. It rotated daily.
Going in the houses and shops in the historical area was really cool. Every place you went to something was going, the shoemaker was making shoes, the blacksmith working, the seamstress sewing. They all explained what they were doing. We even got to attend a court hearing where they had volunteers participate. It's a great learning experience for both children and adults as well.

Jamestown settlement was very interesting. Tons of stuff in the museum. Some people in our party wanted to read every display, which realized that we were going to be there for multiple days if that continued. Ended up just reading all details on displays that we were curious on. After the museum we walked outside to see all the village displays and ships. It was fun to walk into the huts, and walk onto the ships. Not tons of walking but enough that when we found out we could borrow a motorized scooter, we jumped on that for 2 people in our party. That helped tremendously, and was available at no charge. They only have a small amount so first come first serve. The guy that helped with our tickets and scooter, at the side ticket office was one of the nicest people we have met on our whole trip. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I didn’t catch his name, but to the young man working on April 6 in morning-afternoon thank you for your help and kindness.

The palace is always a treat to see. The interior has been newly updated. After much research it is reflecting the newly discovered information. Well worth a look. Don’t forget to check the gardens to see if a historic figure is on site. You may find Mr. Jefferson and friends wondering there.

First time coming and we really enjoyed the decorations for the holiday. Walking through the park up and down the mountain was pretty cool with the lights. Only thing we didn’t realize that of it gets to cold they shut the rides down. I feel like if you’re waiting in line in your necks, they should give you some kind of past to return. Since you wait that long then they are like sorry it’s not working. We did eat dinner there pretty good not bad. We thought it was pretty cool too that they had the fire pits that you can walk around if you’re too cold.

We now always take the ferry wherever we are going to the Williamsburg area. It is free entertainment, relaxing and this route avoids much of the traffic of Richmond and the Hampton Roads area. Just be aware that you may have to enter Scotland Ferry as the destination for your GPS. Then, when you board the ferry, reprogram your GPS with your final destination.

This museum is such a fabulous collection of folk art from the smallest most mundane everyday tools to the beautifully carved furniture and decorative porcelain. We spent all day there and didn’t see everything. Will go back!

Large water park with lots to do for all ages. There is everything here from bigger more adventurous water slides toa wave pool to multiple large splash pads for the kids. We liked that there were plenty of non-slide options for those times that we didn't want to wait in a line. Overall the lines weren't terrible because there are so many options. There are many seating options throughout the park. We arrived when the park opened so we had no trouble finding seats to park our stuff. We left our belongings on a chair rather than deal with the chaos by the lockers. The whole family had a great time here.

I do need to comment on the all day Dining Plan (which I will copy into my Busch Gardens review as well). Never have I seen a promotion so antithetical to guest satisfaction. The rules and restrictions on this plan are borderline hostile. You want to get a bag of chips instead of a side or dessert, nope forget it. Better yet, you want to get a bag of chips instead of an entree, side and drink? Nope, forget it. You want a specific side? Well they will tell you which sides are allowed. If you're someone that frequents fast food chains and buys combos off those menus then this plan will be fine for you. And will be cost effective. If you like the slightest bit of choice then you might want to skip the dining plan.
