Very clean, employees are great. Front desk went out of their way to help us with details and locations needed for the next days food tasting. Which the tasting was wonderful. Beautiful place for the wedding to be in Sept. Only wish casino was a bit larger. Have stayed there twice and have been pleased both times.

The concert was great! These people know how to bring back the best of Abba! The downside was that even though we had purchased our tickets far in advance, to have tickets toward the front, management allowed a group of women from the back 'dance' in front of the stage through the WHOLE concert! All we saw most of the time was the entertainers heads. I don't mind people going up to take pictures, but if you want to dance - go to the back. It was very distracting and makes me question if I want to go back.

My mom & I made the 3.5-hour trek from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Emmetsburg specifically for the Mickey Gilley/Johnny Lee Concert on Aug. 20 & we were NOT disappointed. The hotel was clean & comfortable & the staff was friendly. We're not regular gamblers, but we had fun in the casino (even though we lost money). As for the concert, it was fantastic! It was the first time I had seen Johnny Lee in person and about the 10th time in three years that I've seen Mickey Gilley. Even though Gilley is 80 years old now and still recovering from a 2009 accident (spinal cord injury), his voice is incredible and he puts on a tremendous show! Seeing him and Johnny Lee together took me right back to the 1980s and my teenage Urban Cowboy years. It was so much fun! If you get a chance to see this country music legend in person, I highly recommend it! I hope the Wildrose brings Mickey Gilley back soon!

Our experience was excellent this Mother Day weekend and my experience prior month too. Hotel staff was outstanding they even have a female maintenance worker we were Shock.. when our toilet was having problem. We contact front desk.. they came right down to our room. Knock on the door letting us know it was maintenance we heard I female voice it threw us for a second but I felt safe to open door to her and the front desk staff. She introduce her self as Cathy....and HAD TOLD US HOW SORRY she was for the inconvience... and went into the bath room to fix the toilet... I had ask how she became a maintenance she told us she wasI Army veteran served four tour in OEF, Desert Storm, and help clean up in 911 Pentagon.. and that she was a combat medic/nurse for 24 yr and due to her injuries from OEF from IED. she ..retire... and is doing a new career in Construction and welding through the College we were just amazed with her professional and customer care she was caring in what she does.. We were just amazed that even in a small town we had veteran serving us even though she served her country and sacrifice her life. She her fix our toilet not complaining. We would like you to know how luck you are to have a outstanding worker and we looking forward to see her again next visit and many more....we love hotel stay and small town friendly smile and care.. Please let her boss know she has great customer care skills...

However, in the past the hotel staff has been less than friendly when trying to book a room for this weekend. We didn't even try to get a room this year, after being told six months out that the rooms are completely booked. REALLY?!? Why advertise them if there are none available?

The hotel is pretty nice and they always have a good rate, when it comes to stuff to do there is nothing they filled the pool in so there is no swimming or hot tub I think if you stay at a casino you have to have something to do besides gamble. The machines are tighter then anywhere I have ever played. They need to take some of the money they get and rebuild the pool let's remember the location there is nothing to do anywhere close. I would not recommend this place at all.

The casino, coffee shop, staff, & room itself were fine. But unfortunately after staying there a few times, the breakfast buffet was horrible & every time I made a reservation (keeping in mind it was not St. Pat's nor was there an event going on) they tell me they're about all booked. I then get stuck with a smoking and/or a room clear at the far end of the hotel, but there's never more than a couple people seen the entire time. Probably won't stay again.

My wife and myself stop there on our way out west. Nice hotel and very friendly staff. We got there a earlier then we planned, but the front desk got us right into our room way for before check in time. I forgot to pack a couple of bathroom items, called down to the front desk and they ran them right up to me free of charge.

Very clean, affordable,quiet and personable. The room is large and very clean. Has a flat screen and a number of cable channels. The casino is small, but plenty of slots and table games. It is a newer property, and is very well maintained and housekeeping does an awesome job. Has a good restaurant and free breakfast for hotel guests.

Great rates for a very nice room. The staff was very friendly and even recommended the Chinese restaurant in town because the hotel restaurant was closed. The casino didn't smell smokey and only took a little of my money. We would have stayed longer if there was more to do in town but we didn't want to gamble all day so we kept on our travels.

When this "resort" first opened it had nice indoor swimming pool and large commercial size hot tub/spa. Within a few years both were closed and filled with cement(?) We inquired why on earth would you shut down the ONE THING some guests children could enjoy?? We were told it was because of the cost of heating the water and paying the staff to sweep and maintain the area, etc. Mostly this establishment is for local townsfolk to drink and chain-smoke, and hang-out. The pool could not be "used" by these people which is part of the reason they shut it all down. When we hear the ads for: Casino and "Resort" -we laugh. It is NOT a resort! Its a smoke-filled bar run by locals -for locals. But still a place to go on occasion...... Hope this helps!
