Lupang Hinirang has been sung as the Philippine National Anthem since 1956 when Ramon Magsaysay was president of the country. It was translated into Tagalog from the original Spanish by Julian Cruz Balmaceda, Ildefonso Santos and Francisco Caballo.

I started to sing this with much more passion after i realized that China is slowly taking over our seas.
Luckily just last night Pres. Duterte announced that he will no longer tolerate it. That all foreign vessels must notify us before passing through our terotory and even the chinese ‘minister’? is it a minister? that they will notify us before passing through. but based on the news 5 chinese vessels was seen passing through our EEZ or EXCLUSIVE!! Economic Zone. Wow~~~, just wow they already said and even in proudly told it, over millions watch and heard he said that, but they still turn back on their word.
Everytime I hear this song gives me goosebumps and make me very proud to be a
filipino just like millions of us living in different parts of the continent. Just love the lyrics of this beautiful song.

its not when u lived in the Philippines all your life im a foreigner but I still memorized bcuz if my school .-.
When your a filipino (like meh) you will be able to remember the words easily for the anthem of your country, singing this makes me feel at home even though i live in Canada. This anthem really helps me remember that I still have loved ones in the Philippines that are supporting me anywhere I go. This may be very difficult for you to memorize but deep inside, this means a lot to most of us, us filipino’s. 😀
