Welcome to the Saskatchewan Roads WikiProject.

Scope

Our purpose is to organize all the Saskatchewan roads & highways. They don't seem to get enough attention. It is simple. You create stubs, expand, then use templates and graphics.

• SK tourism has the government provincial maps in pdf format marked between red triangles with red kilometre distances, and between junctions in black kilometre distances.

  • This {{subst:SK Highways Template}} will also have several variations óf the template to add a 'highway shield to junction boxes and to infoboxes.
• Geographical placenames of Canada will provide a radius search of communities for SK regional parks, SK provincial parks (SK tourism) or CA national parks to suggest further looks up or ecosystems
• Large roaside attractions or Big things of Saskatchewan or CA historic sites and monuments
• sask Biz are community profiles submitted by the communities and RMs to the provincial government and they will sometimes discuss transportation and / or economy of their area, as will the local Regional Economic Development Authority REDA.
• 2006 statistics will discuss economic and population demographics of placenames along routes
• our roots nos racines may have the local history book which may give the early highway beginnings (when the highway ran on "the square") and the early involvement of the rural municipality before the department of highways was formed.
• googling or searching the highway name may give CA and/or SK government news releases of federal or provincial funding and construction history and proposals for the highway regarding twinning, renaming to a main corridor route name etc.

Goals

Our goal right now is to create articles related to the Saskatchewan highway network. To make these goals easier to accomplish, this page is divided into phases.

Phases of Project

We are currently in Phase 1 of the project. Please consult the tasks section to see your list of duties.

1. Stub Creation, 1 paragraph or less is fine. Don't forget to add stub templates!
2. Stub Expansion, add some details, a few more sentences to a whole paragraph.
3. Further Review, expansion, add a paragraph or two.
4. Final expansion, Images and templates to spruce article up.
5. Patrol.

Contest Department

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article.This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
