This was my first trip to Tobago. i stayed with my family for 3 days / 2 nights. It's the first place that i visited and didn't have any complains. It was a convenient place, easy access to the port, ATMS, supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants. It was a very safe and comfortable environment. The staff was very friendly and courteous and well trained. one of the member of staff also allowed us to stay an extended 2 hours for free. I think the pool hours should be extended... other than that everything was amazing......... staff, security, rooms. the maid was really friendly also. We occupied rooms 2,3 and 5, and the rooms and washrooms were clean, kitchen was well organised, it had every thing, they claimed it had. we didn't want to leave this place especially the pool.... and the amazing part it was very safe for kids...Oh and the decorated room was really pretty thanks sooo much to the person who was responsible for it..... I'm sure the couple appreciated it alot. i miss this place so much..

i totally recommend this place..... it was AWESOME !!!!!!

Thank you for taking time to review our property. It was our pleasure serving you and we try our best in helping to make your stay in Tobago enjoyable. We have noted your comment regarding the extended pool hours, however, it may be difficult to implement a later closing time as the pool is situated in front the apartment and we have had complaints from guests (early birds) about the noise of pool bathers after 8pm. Thank you for choosing to stay with us.

I've just found my home away from home. My friends and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Rainbow Resort and it was well above expectation. Easter 2011 will be a well remembered get away because of this place.

We arrived about an hour prior to check in time but our room was ready. We were allowed to check in, EXCELLENT. The room was very clean, spacious and had 2 queen sized beds, that was not expected. The kitchen really was fully equipped and had all that we needed (even though we didn't cook).

There was housekeeping service on both Saturday and Sunday. They came in, tidied the room, mopped out the bathroom and took out the trash.

The pool was fantastic. Large, warm waters and various depths (unlike the pools at Surf Side). We bathe everyday, only spent half day at Store Bay (really unusual for my family)

The one downside and my only recommendation, there's no wireless internet access. Once they add this feature I'll be head over heels in love with the place. I hope if Mrs Rattan sees this she would consider adding that amenity as its the only thing missing.

All in all it was an excellent stay. The location is ideal, near the beaches, ATM, grocery and eateries. The staff was very friendly and quite well mannered (which is something lacking really bad in Tobago). I will definitely return (fingers crossed for November).

***Just saw on the website that wireless internet access has been added. I'm super excited as I will be returning in November and for a week this time***

Thank you for your review. You will be happy to know that we have added free wireless internet access. YAAAY!! We do try to accommodate our guests as much as possible and we know how tiring it is to travel via ferry, so an early check in was not a problem as the room was available. It was a pleasure serving you and making your stay memorable. Looking foward to seeing you guys again.

its our second year at the resort of our annual trip to tobago from trinidad and i must say d service was excellent for what we paid for management and the security personell on duty for the three nights were very friendly , Miss Rattan (younger) was even kind enough to let us stay beyond our check out time to facilitate our sailing time without chargin us xtra th e place was clean and we enjoyed our time spent at rainbow we will definately be back next year

My stay at the Rainbow Resort (NOT A RESORT) was not the best. The room was OK, but the bathroom smelled of urine and the shower curtains had mildew at the bottom. Mind u I was told that the maids were just in our room cleaning out. The day before I called the hotel and spoke to a Ms. Rattan, explained to her that my cousin had made the deposit to stay at the hotel but I was unable to fax it, she said it was OK and I should bring my deposit slip at check-in, she also said since we were was arriving early I could pay a fee of just $100.00 extra so we could check in before 2:00pm. I asked for her name so that when we got to the hotel there would be no issue with the early check-In and deposit slip. When we got to the hotel I went the front desk and spoke to a mature lady who asked me if I made the deposit, said yes, she said well I am not seeing payment, I said here is my slip and I spoke to a Ms. Rattan who said it was OK for me to bring it in today, the lady replied oh really well we don't normally do that kinda thing here, u have to fax it first. I said well call Ms. Rattan an speak to her, she said well its OK just sign these forms and I will check u in. After signing she gives me the receipt book and says oh by the way I AM Ms. Rattan!!! I watched her like are u for real?!! I said so why did u have me go over my explanation when u KNOW it was me who spoke to u one the phone yesterday! Later on that night we decided to go the movies and had a taxi come pick us up for 7:45pm, when we got down stairs the taxi driver was steaming!! He said the security guard was absolutely rude to him and tried to kick him out of the parking lot, he said he explained to the security guard that he was there to pick up guest to which the security guard rudely replied, well wait for them outside!!! Luckily the driver knew the owner of the hotel and was able to stay in the car park and wait for us!!!! I certainly would NOT recommend anyone to stay at the Rainbow.

Room tip: Rooms smelt old and the bathroom smelt of urine

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I am sorry that it was not a positive review and your stay was not enjoyable. Regards to the service provided to you upon check-in, it is true that we require guests to fax/email a copy of their deposit slip with their reservation information on it as confirmation so that we will know that they did in fact make the deposit. We do not usually accept word of mouth as persons can and say they made their deposit when in fact they didn't. Believe me, this has happened before. Even though you called, your deposit amount was not documented on our records as at that time we had no physical proof until your arrival. I'm not sure if Mrs. Rattan was simply stating such or making an issue about it, but I do apologise if you did feel offended. I cannot really comment on the issue with the security guard as i'm not sure of both sides of the story, but when I questioned the officer on duty that night he informed me that the taxi driver just pulled into the parking lot and parked up. The taxi driver then refused to answer his questions about which guest or which room number he was waiting on and at that point the officer did make the comment to "wait outside if you don't know anything." I have noted and addressed your issues with the relevant staff members and once again I do apologise for the terrible stay you had with us. I hope this has not put you off from visiting Tobago again as it's a beautiful island.

Very basic and not a resort by any means. We were there with several family members and it was far from great. We had just come from staying at the Sandy Point Beach club and it was a major, major step down. The rooms were not great as far as cleaniness, the furniture was old and the beds were incredibly hard and there were no blankets and the sheets were ripped. The bathroom was questionable (I am not a picky person when it comes to hotels and I cringed when I had to take a shower or brush my teeth). Although there was supposed to be a full kitchen, the utensils and pots and pans were sparse and questionable. The pool closed at 7pm which was difficult with young kids as there was nothing else to do and no where to hang out and play. The people at the front desk were not very helpful. It was close to several places to eat and Store Bay. I would not stay here again and definetely would not recommend it.

Thank you for reviewing our property as you feedback is important to us and potential guests. Yes, the name is a bit misleading, so we explain to our guests when they call that we offer self-contained apartments, in addition our prices reflect a more budgeted accommodation than those compared to Sandy Point and other resorts. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay as we try to make each guest stay as enjoyable as possible. We have since purchased new linens and have refurbished the apartments. The swimming pool closes at 8pm as it's located directly in front of the bedrooms in the apartments and guests usually complain about the noise made by bathers in the pool. I am sorry that we did not manage to make your stay with us enjoyable.
