Comfortable. convenient, clean and relaxing. Staff was very welcoming and provided everything we requested. On arrival our room was ready. The room was well equipped, with a full kitchenette, clean linens, bathroom and always feels safe and secure.

My partner and I booked a vacation to Tobago and since I’ve stayed at Rainbow before and thought it would be a great place to stay again. Ria was very professional and friendly. The booking process was very easy and they were able to accommodate my request for a ground floor room. Mr. Rattan was friendly and picked us up and dropped us back to the airport. The apartment was spacious and the AC worked great. The kitchen was a little sparse in terms of dishes, pots, lids and pans. Ria did Let us know that if we needed anything in specific they would be able to provide it. The pool was nice and I did notice on our last day, there were people cleaning it and maintaining the landscape.
The reason why I like this place is because how central it is. Store Bay is a 10-15 minute walk. There are multiple restaurants, bars and mini marts all within walking distance including a pharmacy right next door. Swallows beach it’s also about a 15 min walk away. I would definitely stay here again.

The resort grounds/pool is nice & the apartment looked good & had the needed amenities. However, the cleanliness was very lacking as bird droppings were visible on the balcony chairs upon checkin & multiple lizard droppings were observed in the apartment bathroom & bedroom. Also, the brown sheets aren’t hospitality standard & should be light colored. The cleanliness problem is a deal breaker & I do not feel like returning. The resort has the potential to be very nice if the cleanliness problem is addressed.

Before going to Tobago my fiancé and I checked through a list of resorts and their prices, and came across Rainbow Resort. Their prices were great, the resort was only a three minute walk from the beach, but the picture we found of Rainbow Resort resembled a turqoise concrete block.

Since my whole family was going to join us there, and we needed to stay in an affordable place, we sighed and opted for the concrete block at last. "At least we won't be spending too much time there," we thought.

HOW WRONG WE WERE!

The place is really nice on the inside of the compound, the resort apartments are clean and comfortable, and the one we stayed in easily fit the six of us for a mere 80USD/night. Which is a great price, considering we got a a batroom in the masterbedroom, and an extra spacious bathroom for the 'other' guests staying in the two extra bedrooms - one with a queen sized bed + a single bed, the third room with a single bed.

One of the great things about the price is that it includes a fully equipped and spacious kitchen, cable tv, and a nice separate living room with comfortable couches. There's 24 hr security, and a medium sized clean pool - perfect for that last evening swim.

There is no restuaraunt on the property, but there are small diners across the street. There's also Café Coco, which is a two minute walk away, adn where it's a must to treat yourself to the very very affordable (some 26-30 USD) and VERY filling lobster dish. And the best part is that the waddle back isn't too far :)

All in all, it's the perfect family location, gives you your money's worth and much, much more.

We'll be sure to stay there when we travel back to Tobago in the future!

----

On a sidenote- Pizza boy is just a stone's throw away as well, but the service you get there varies alot. I got the wrong order on one night, and my father had his pizza placed in the 'delivery' car instead of getting it. After that we just opted for Café Coco, which is a little bit more expensive, but oh so worth it.

I actually read all the reviews on this place before booking and made a decision for my family and I to stay there based on this. This was the worst mistake of my life. We made the 50% down payment as requested by Ms. Racttan of $825, for our 4 day 3 night stay when we got there she immediately asked us for the balance of payment ($825) before you could even settle down, She seems money hungry to me.

I was very disappointed with the apartment because it was very small, dirty and smelly. The toilet area had what was looking like urine at the back of the toilet on the ground, the face basin, bathroom and toilet are so small and close together, this could not be designed for adults, maybe
2 - 5 year old children. These areas seem to be unkept it smelled and looked like a place no one used for sometime. The kitchen area is next to the toilet area and that too was dirty. I went to the grocery and bought Lysol disinfectant and air freshner, I put gloves on my hand and borrowed a mop from one of the tenants and tried to clean. I was feeling like I was going to die in this place it was so scornful. I stayed out late the night by the pool area to try to reduce the time I would have to spend in the smelly hole. I spoke to quite a few of the tenants who were on this so called "resort". I am being honest not one of them had anything good to say about the apartment they were in they were all complaining about the dirty apartment, the family staying next to me invited me in to look at their apartment I wanted to puke, when I thought mine was dirty there's was worst, I offered them some disinfectant and they started cleaning too. The car park is very small and there is not enough parking for all tenants. The area around the pool was not well lit it was semi lit. The so call private patio is a lie you see into the apartments on the left and the right of you from your patio. The front door was giving trouble to close imagine when I got assistance to lock it I had to use the back door by a big smelly drain to enter and exit the apartment. The apartment is not private.

Imagine leaving my nice clean home to deal with this pig sty. I spent the night and early the next morning I went apartment hunting. I got an apartment with a lot more space and very hygienic at a much lower cost than the pig sty so my family and I spent the rest of our stay in a nice clean environment which I am accustomed to.

I did not ask for a refund, our $1650 was lost but my sanity was saved because I could not deal with the thought of having to stay in the pig sty. My vacation started off very stink but it continued and ended very well. Thank God for that I really prayed for my family and I to get a clean place, when you have kids you do not need to deal with this so call "resort".

I spoke with quite a few people on the beaches and they told me they tried to get a booking for Rainbow Resort but it was filled, I told them that was a blessing in disguise. I hope you guys out there would take my experience seriously because I have no reason to lie I have nothing to gain from that.

I just want to let Ms. Racttan know that she needs to clean up that place, business is not only about making money, you have to spend some too. The tenants I spoke to were all complaining , so this means that they would not re-visit you place. A couple of your tenants also said when they tried to speak to you concerning the conditions you were very hostile. Be fair to paying customers we are not begging you for a favour, we paid for something which we did not get, I'm sure you would never stay in a facility like yours.

Stop thinking about the MONEY you would be more fulfilled if you are honestRe. What you are doing is the equivalent of banditry.

We truly value the opinions of our customers and we apologize that we did not meet your expectations. I'm not sure if you were aware but our policy is 50% downpayment and the balance is due upon arrival. We do not collect balances at check-out times as guests are vague about their departure times and we run the risk of a guest checking out and not paying. I do apologise if it came across as being money hungry. Regarding the other matters of cleanliness, I wish you would have come to us immediately or the following day so we could have tried to rectify the matter. We strive to make each guest stay happy and i'm sorry neither you nor the other tenants staying came to us so we could have tried to make your stay enjoyable. You will be happy to know that all front doors have been changed and are working properly. I'm not sure about the big drain at the back of the unit. We do have a small drain that runs along the back, but that carries only rain water from the roof. Our patios are referred to as private, because you have your own gate. Other guests cannot come into your porch area. Thank you for taking time out to review our property and again we apologize that we did not meet your expectations.

On Friday August 13th i departed from Piarco International Airport at about 7:30pm and arrived at Crown Point about half hr later.
When i went to Rainbow Resorts the first thing that struck me was the privacy...
The rooms were air conditioned and quite comfortable compared to other such places. We stayed directly infront of the pool downstairs and were privy to no bugs or rodents..thank god!
On Saturday we walked to Store Bay beach facility which isn't that far about 5-10 minutes walk depending on your speed. We spent the entire day and returned about 3pm and spent the evening in the pool..which by the way is much larger and cleaner than other places in the same price range. Both days we stayed we cooked our own food, thus saving in that area..the kitchen was quite clea and all available appliances-stove, microwave, refridgerator-were fully functional. The showers had both cold and hot water readily available..the only downside was that after a shower most of the bathroom was flooded..it could get a little messy. But other than that all was well.
On Sunday morning we had to stay inside because of the rain and the storm watch but by noon all was well and we hit the pool again. By 3pm we had to leave because it was time to head back to Trinidad....Rainbow Resorts was exceptional for the price we paid and it was a well spent trip.

We booked a 5 night stay at this "resort" over the Easter holidays. It was initially a group of 4 of us but 2 persons ran into emergencies at the last minute and could not make the trip. Upon arrival at the resort we tried to get a refund or at least a discount because we had already paid for the 4 persons. The owner as well as the receptionist were very rude and lacked understanding and compassion. They made it very clear that they were just out to make money and had no genuine interest in their guests. We eventually just gave up and let them have the money. After arguing back and forth with us and making us run around in circles our room wasn't even ready. It was as if we just arrived without a reservation. The excuse was that the manager had gone to get a microwave for the room. Yea sure. We waited over an hour for these people. Can you believe it?! We got fed up and asked to at least put our luggage in the room so we could get a bite to eat. The receptionist's response was that we could just leave it in the reception area. Now tell me why would we do that?! We waited around and decided to take a walk by the pool. Mistake! The pool was dirty and grimy. The water had leaves and residue floating around in it. You could clearly see the pool was in need of a thorough cleaning and scrubbing. This was a complete turn off. Eventually the manager supposedly arrived with the microwave and we were given the ok to proceed to our room. The room itself was just ok. The kitchen was in need of a renovation. The cupboards needed to be cleaned as well as stocked with a bit more utensils. They need to actually provide dish washing liquid and not a bottle of 1/4 dish washing liquid and 3/4 water. What is that? The dish cloth was just sad. The bathroom worked out for us but was very small. The place was covered in ants though. We could not leave our food out for too long or we'd be greeted with a whole colony. We expected the rooms to be cleaned but I guess that was our job :/ The wifi itself as another issue. I will NEVER stay at this so called resort again. It's disgusting! Wasn't worth the money we paid.

Thank you for taking time out to write a review, even though it was not positive. I would like to comment on some of the criticisms you made. Easter vacation is a busy time, so if you book a room for 4 persons and only 2 persons show up, yes you will still be charged the full price. Maybe if you had informed us prior, we could have tried to put you in a room for 2 and charge you a 2 person rate if we had one available. I am sorry you see it as "trying to make money." Our check in time is from 2pm, so if you arrived earlier and the room still needed to be cleaned/finished, then no you would not have had access to the room, not even to place your bags as the housekeepers need full access to clean the rooms, and we rather not have guests belongings in there until the room is ready. We do not have a lobby area but we do provide an spot in the reception area to place guest bags. I do agree that the kitchen needed an upgrade and we have since replaced some of the utensils. We do dilute out dishwashing liquid as guests tend to waste. Ants are a problem throughout and we do advise guests to please do not leave food/sweets on the counter as ants will eventually get to it. All in all, we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, but we do hope you enjoyed Tobago.

I have been to Tobago many times and I always return to this resort. It's a 2 minute drive from the airport and practically next door to some very good restaurants. Golden Star is a restaurant / club with excellent food at affordable prices. There's also pizza and some more upscale restaurants nearby too. You don't need a car to get to the beach since it's just a 5 minute walk to Storbay and a 20 minute walk to Pigeon Point.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable; and the apartments are very spacious. They have full kitchens with three separate bedrooms (4 beds) and a modest living room. The pool is small, but clean and each room has a lovely balcony.

A few tips about Tobago: Charlotteville is excellent to purchase fresh fish; take a little boat tour while you're there. Argyle Falls is a lovely trip (a short hike to get there). Pigeon point has beautiful scenery, but you have to pay to get in. They charge approximately $3-4 US per person to get in and $2US for rental chairs. Storbay is quite lively with a nice little bar and you can have crab & dumplings for lunch. Drinks are quite cheap (approximagely $1 - $1.50 US per drink). Overall, Tobago is quite safe, but be careful at the bank machines and be aware of your surroundings. Most places say they'll close around 12am, but if business is slow, they'll start closing up around 11pm.

We rented a family apartment which was average. Upon entering, we opened a window, which low and behold, fell out of the tracks and went outside. Mind you, not just glass, but even the frame. Management insisted we paid the full cost of a replacement window, which was obviously not our fault but rather due to poor maintenance. If you ever decide to visit, check all windows thoroughly (with management) since other windows were shaky in the apartment as well. If you ever visit, look out for falling windows

Thank you for your review. It was an unfortunate incident that happened. Initially you were told to pay the full cost to replace the window, however, we decided to stand half the loss and you only paid 50%. Sliding windows don't usually go off their tracks unless pushed and we have never had this incident happen before. We have since gotten the sliding window repaired and it is working perfectly again. Once again, thank you for taking time out to write a review.

Rainbow Resort in Tobago is A big ripp off !
While Enroute via ferry to stay at Rainbow Resort in December 2011, only 1he away from arriving, we get a call telling us our reservation couldn't be honored.. what they offered the 6 of us was unacceptable !
They refused to refund our deposit.. $1063.00
Now 1 1/2 months later, they are still taking money from my visa debit card.. and we never stayed there because they changed our reservation and didn't have what we all needed.

It's TT $400 for a one bedroom which has a double and a smaller single bed. There is a kitchen with a full stove and gas, microwave, fridge and kitchen utensils and dishes with lots of cupboards. Toilet and bath and a balcony. Fully ac with built in waldrobe and a safe (just ask at the desk for the key). You have to ask to use the iron though for the duration of your stay.
