Diane Sawyer to Leave 'GMA' on Friday


Diane Sawyer announced on Good Morning America today that this will be her final week on the show before taking her place as the new anchor of World News.

ABC executives are currently in negotiations with This Week host George Stephanopoulos to take Sawyer's place.

ABC News' Charles Gibson is stepping down from his duties as anchor of World News on Dec. 18. And Sawyer is set to take his spot the following Monday, Dec. 21.
