Diane Sawyer announced on Good Morning America today that this will be her final week on the show before taking her place as the new anchor of World News.

Sawyer said she hopes GMA viewers will "celebrate with us this week, and laugh with us this week, and look back a little with us this week."
ABC executives are currently in negotiations with This Week host George Stephanopoulos to take Sawyer's place.
ABC News' Charles Gibson is stepping down from his duties as anchor of World News on Dec. 18. And Sawyer is set to take his spot the following Monday, Dec. 21.
