Lewis Hamilton won nine races en route to his fourth Formula 1 world drivers' title and wrapped up his final race with a second-place finish in Abu Dhabi. His teammate Valtteri Bottas won from pole, scoring his third win of the season and securing the constructers' title for Mercedes.
Ferrari had speed to contend early in the season, but it seemed to all fall apart in Singapore. Sebastian Vettel won four races for the Italian team but came up short of the title, finishing second in the drivers' standings as Ferrari finished second in the constructers' title.
Renault grabbed sixth in the constructers' title, thanks to a sixth-place finish by Nico Hulkenberg in Abu Dhabi.
