We stayed here for my sister's hen night. Everyone in the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful with all our needs. The rooms were to a great standard and spacious. We ate lunch in the bar and dinner in the restaurant, both were filling and tasty. The hotel is in a great location at the centre of town and within walking distance to everything. I'd definitely reccomend it to anyone that's thinking of visiting Athlone.

Constantly stay in the Radisson Blu when on business in Athlone but decided to give the PoW a try and am very glad I did.

Located centrally with excellent parking facilities. I was able to wander round the shops for a while to entertain myself. One criticism would be the youths smoking at the entrance. I found this quite off putting as they were very demonstrative.

Upon check in the receptionist was just lovely and explained everything. When I asked about room service she was so relaxed and told me not to worry about pre authorisation of credit cards etc I could pay in the morning.

The room was basic enough. No fridge which was annoying as I had some water and it was a warm day. No bath either which is something I always enjoy on hotel visits. The shower was a great size and had multidirectional shower heads.

Heating / air conditioning system not great. Found it quite hard to regulate the heat but it wasn't too much of an issue.

Dinner choices were not bad. Lack of healthy alternatives. Ordered room service and it was delivered quickly and everything was there.
Quite a lot of noise from the corridor late at night which disturbed my sleep somewhat.

I left my breakfast order on the door for room service at 8.30am to allow me to work while I had breakfast. At 8.45am breakfast had not arrived. I went to the door to ensure my order was lifted and found a lady with the request who apologised that it had been missed and said she would have it sent up. It arrived at 9.10am 40 mins late. No croissants as ordered instead pain au chocolat. Again lack of healthy choices. I am type 1 diabetic and would have liked more yogurt and fruit etc etc

Upon check out I mentioned the poor breakfast service and the excellent receptionist gave me a 10% discount off food next time and a card for complimentary coffee. A small gesture but I was pleased my complaint was acknowledged.

All in all a very pleasant stay. Will return more often on business and perhaps on leisure trips also.

This hotel is situated down a side street and has its own parking area - but get there early to get a space. The room was smaller than anticipated, but plenty of wardrobe and draw space. A large comfy bed. There was an effective air conditioner. The downside was the CRT television taking a big chunk of the dressing table. The en-suite shower room was a good size - plenty of shelf space. The shower was huge - double length with power sprays on both ends. The bar was very good - good selection of beers. Breakfast was extensive - cereals, fruit and tasty full Irish - worth paying the extra when booking the room. The staff were very friendly. Overall a very good value hotel.

Just back from a very relaxing stay at the Prince of Wales hotel. The hotel itself is perfect, it is ideally located for some retail therapy and all the staff we encountered our probably the most professional I have seen in a very long time.
We will definitely be back again

Stayed here last minute as we had a mix up with our original booking. We were a group of 8 for a 30th.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

The rooms were comfortable and we all enjoyed the food. A bonus was the nightclub being downstairs ;)
