This is our second visit to this establishment. We were greeted by the lovely Victoria who handled our check in wonderfully. She told us the hotel was full but we had been upgraded to room 208. Noting we were already paying close to $400 a night we thought this would be delightful. Alas, this was not the case.
Our room seemed great at first look but once we settled we noticed the plastic stuck on the wall in the bathroom, peeling wall paper, torn wall paper, stains on the curtain, holes with gooey residue in the shower. When we went out and returned, my husband's card no longer worked on the lock. The reception on the TV was also very poor.
When we checked out, again with Victoria, we were told the cards easily become de-magnetized so should just have come back downstairs. Who expects to have to do that at a self proclaimed luxury hotel? I suggested they invest in cards that are not as fragile. Noting that this room was an upgrade, so likely went for well over $400 a night, I was very disappointed. I can only imagine what our room prior to the upgrade would be like! Victoria did kindly reduce our bill by $50 when we mentioned the poor state of the room which was nice of her to do, but we certainly won't be returning to that property for anything more than the lovely tea in the future.
We don't mind paying those prices if we think the value is there, but this state of room is more expected at a Holiday Inn than a Vintage Inn.
