The first poster has been unveiled for Jump Victory Carnival 2022, a huge event that promises to have new announcements for several popular Shonen Jump series.
Posted on the official Shonen Jump website, this poster features characters from several of the manga magazine's ongoing and most popular anime series. The characters Luffy from One Piece, Goku from Dragon Ball and Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia appear in the in the foreground of the poster, while characters from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Quest, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer complete the image behind them.
After being postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jump Victory Carnival returned in 2021. This year's event will be held on July 17 in the Makuhari Messe Hall, a convention center located outside of Tokyo, Japan.
Goku's appearance on the poster isn't as surprise, as Dragon Ball remains one of Shonen Jump's biggest titles of all time. The Dragon Ball Super sequel manga is currently ongoing with over 80 chapters published. The current arc of Super, known as "Granolah the Survivor", features a bounty hunter named Granolah who is initially in the employ of a group called the Heeters, which is allied with the Frieza Force. The arc also featured the debut of Vegeta's new Ultra Ego form and is expected to end soon. Since the series' latest movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, will already be out in Japanese theaters by June, it is possible that some of the announcements that are to be made at Jump Victory Carnival 2022 may focus on the future of the manga series.
Luff's spot in the center of the poster is also expected, as One Piece is the most popular manga series of all time, with over half-a-billion copies in circulation. Both the anime and Eiichiro Oda's manga are still currently within the long-running Wano Country arc, which sees the Straw Hat pirates contending with Kaido and his Beast Pirates. The arc also saw a new addition to the Straw Hat crew, Kaido's daughter Yamato, who is rebelling against their tyraniccal father's rule. New announcements about the future of the manga series and the upcoming One Piece Film: Red movie are expectred at Jump Victory Carnival 2022.
