Our Mighty Midgets won the Tri-Rivers Classic Tournament this year with a 79-58 win over the North Shelby Raiders in the championship game. The boys in blue have been hard at work, putting hours in on their game. Covid slowed us down last year and put us in last place at the Tri-Rivers tournament, partly due to quarantine and close contact protocols. This year, with a strong and healthy bench, our boys in blue were ready to make a comeback, especially with 6 returning seniors and dedicated underclassmen.
On Saturday, December 4, our Putnam crowd was loud and the student section packed the excitement and enthusiasm while decked out in neon. The Midgets were on fire with Zach H scoring 21 points and being chosen as the tournament MVP. Landon W, had a great game with 14 points, Owen R with 16, and Gage P with 10. Not to mention the quick hands, smart anticipation, confidence, and fun these fellas bring with them to the hardwoods.
Congratulations to Zach H, Tournament MVP. Landon W and Zach H were also selected as the 2021 Tri-Rivers Classic All-Tournament Boys Team. Way to go!
Roger Owings was also awarded the Legends of Tri-Rivers award during the tournament festivities.
Our Lady Midgets earned the consolation spot in the tournament that day as well. Congratulations, Lady Midgets!
Many thanks to all our fans, cheerleaders, coaches, parents, and student-athletes for a great start to the basketball season! We look forward to cheering you on!

The FAB 5 students decorated the Putnam County Courthouse Christmas tree on Tuesday, November 30. Students made the ornaments with some help from grandparents and special guests during the PC Elementary Grandparents' Day celebration. They also made ornaments during Art class with Mrs. Dooley. After decorating the tree, the students sang several songs that they performed later that night at the Elementary Music Program and Art Show. Students also enjoyed cookies and punch provided by the various PC Courthouse office workers.
We would like to thank everyone for all of their help with this project, especially everyone at the PC Courthouse. This is a tradition dating back almost 30 years, and we hope to continue the tradition for the next 30 years.
Be sure to stop by and check out the tree in the Putnam County Courthouse sometime during the holiday season!

Mrs. Whitworth's FAB 5 received a new Promethean TV today in place of their older Promethean Board. The older board had been a little "testy" for a while. So, their classroom got a new updated version and the kids LOVE it. It is a touch screen and can do many more things than the older board was capable of doing. Mrs. Whitworth and her students look forward to learning all the cool things their new "TV" can do! Thank you, Dr. Halley, Mrs. Altiser, Mr. Schnakenberg, and the school board for making this happen!
