The “Bulldawg” is eager to avenge his losses under the Professional Fighters League’s banner.

It has been more than a year since PFL welterweight contender David Michaud (18-6) last competed. On Dec. 31, 2019, he clashed with Ray Cooper III in the PFL 2019 Season Final. That night, he conceded a victory to “Bradda Boy,” who caught him with a body kick followed by a series of vicious punches.

While talking with Sherdog, Michaud provided a careful analysis of what went wrong during the fight. More than that, “Bulldawg” also revealed that a hypothetical rematch between the two would go in a very different direction, mainly if he can stick to his gameplan.

“He’s good,” Michaud said. “He’s very fast, and he’s got a lot of power, so I’ve got to stay away from his big strikes as he throws big powerful shots. I have to move my feet, stay away from that, and not let him get me on the fence again. I just have to fight my fight. If it goes down to wrestling, I have to wrestle earlier offensively. I think that can give him some problems. There are a couple of things that I’d try to do differently.”

To get into the final, Michaud had to compete in a one-night tournament at PFL 7, where he outpointed both John Howard and Glaico França. And “Bulldawg” confessed that he had a lot of fun in that vintage MMA format.

“I loved it,” he stated. “Two fights, one night, you know? The other big promotions in America they don’t have that. It differentiates us. It’s just something that no one else is really doing. UFC, Bellator, these other big shows, One [Championship], they’re not doing that two-fights one-night [tournament]. It’s just awesome. It’s fun, exciting. All the fans love it, all the people that were talking to me were like, ‘Oh, man, that was awesome!’, and I thought it was cool.”
