Contains way to many warning signs of abuse

This book should be titled "All Warning Signs of Violence and Abuse and How to Ignore Them". It had such an interesting premise, and I so wanted some strong independent women, but through the entire book the hero guy just kept constantly controlling the heroine.
In case you are not aware, ladies, you should take it as a VERY bad sign if a man ignores your "no" in any form. If he says "have a drink" and you say "no thank you" and he says "I insist, have a drink" and you say "no, really, I'd rather not" and he keeps pushing, RUN AWAY because that is not a good man. This is seriously a sign of a man who is trying to see how much he can get away with, and if you give in and let him keep turning your No's into Yes', you will be in danger of violence or at best, a shitty relationship. (Please research this if it is new information to you.)
That's basically what this book keeps doing. She keeps saying no and trying to walk away, and he keeps getting his way, often by LITERALLY PICKING HER UP AND DROPPING HER DOWN WHERE HE WANTS HER. Not cute, and not what romance should aspire to. I have no idea why I even read this whole book, because it's obvious from early on. I think I kept waiting for her to put her foot down, but it didn't happen.
