It’s always fun to think about how our zodiac signs influence various aspects of our life, and it’s especially interesting to see how our zodiac signs determine what characters we would be in a fictional text.

While our zodiac signs may not control each and every part of our lives, they can show us some interesting facts about ourselves, making us think in new ways about our personalities, our values, and our ways of looking at the world. If you’ve ever wondered how your zodiac sign would determine which Harry Potter character you’d be, you’re in luck.

Aquarius-Luna Lovegood

Aquarians are known for their being a little on the eccentric side at times, though they are also prone to seeing all of the possibilities that exist in the world.

Those are definitely traits that we can see in Luna Lovegood, one of the more delightful--if at times enigmatic--characters to appear in the Harry Potter universe. Like a good Aquarius, however, she is always ready and willing to help her friends when they are in need.

Pisces-Ron Weasley

Pisces is, to put it mildly, rather strange fish, for while they are deeply empathetic and compassionate, they can also indulge in self-pity and fantasy a little more than is healthy. That is certainly the case with Ron Weasley.

As one of the younger Weasley siblings and as the best friend to both the most famous wizard and the most talented witch of their generations, it makes sense that he would be at times a truly great friend, even if a little prone to jealousy.

Aries-Draco Malfoy

Draco is one of the more complicated and conflicted characters in the Harry Potter universe, for while he does many vile and despicable things, there seems to be a strain of good in him as well. He is also very ambitious.

If you are an Aries, you probably already know that the sign tends to be an energetic one, always aiming to be the first in everything, so if you feel a certain sympathy with Draco, know you know why.

Taurus-Minerva McGonagall

If you are a Taurus, you are no doubt a thoughtful, meticulous, and logical person, with a strong practical side. As such, it should not come as a surprise that if you are one of those bulls, then you would most likely be Professor McGonagall.

Of all of the professors at Hogwarts, it is always Minerva who seems to have her head on the right way, and more than once she is able to keep the central trio from getting into any more trouble than they deserve.

Gemini-Harry Potter

Geminis are very adept at presenting different faces to the world, and they are always trying to be more social, always looking to make that new connection that will complete them. If that describes you, then you’ll be happy to know that you would most likely be Harry Potter himself.

Anyone who knows Harry knows that he, like any good Gemini, has a bit of a knack for presenting different faces to the world, and his quest to understand himself is one of the key things that drives his storyline throughout the books.

Cancer-Severus Snape

As water signs, Cancers can be on the needy side, and they also care deeply about their feelings, about their homes, and about their families. This is an excellent description of none other than Severus Snape, arguably the most complex, complicated, and enigmatic characters to spring from the mind of JK Rowling.

Despite his bitter and often gruff exterior, Snape has a deeply emotional side, as indicated by his everlasting love and loyalty to the memory of Harry’s mother Lily.

Leo-Albus Dumbledore

In all of the zodiac, there is no sign more suited to and capable of commanding a leadership role than Leo. Blazing with all of the intensity of the sun, Leos are able to take charge easily and to encourage others to follow their charisma.

If you are one of those lucky signs, it will come as no surprise that you would be the great Albus Dumbledore himself. Just remember that being a good leader means being willing to admit when you’re wrong or don’t know something.

Virgo-Hermione Granger

When it comes to being detail-oriented, no sign does it better than the Virgo. The flip side of this is that they can get so mired in the details that they lose sight of the bigger picture. This is a perfect description of one Hermione Granger.

Though she is, without a doubt, the most talented witch of her generation, her penchant for being fixated on the details of every issue has caused her more than a few problems.

Libra-Remus Lupin

The air sign Libra is a very social justice driven sign, and they are also lovers of peace and being in love. If this describes you, then it probably won’t surprise you to know that you would most likely be Remus Lupin, the tragic and rather beautiful wizard who has had the misfortune to also become a werewolf.

Despite, or perhaps because of, his affliction, he is also one of the most sensitive characters in the books and the films and, as such, one of Harry’s staunchest allies.

Scorpio-Bellatrix Lestrange

Scorpio is one of the darker signs of the zodiac, and though they, like other water signs, are very emotional, there tends to be an edge to those feelings that can cut those who aren’t careful.

Thus, it makes sense that Scorpio would be most strongly identified with Bellatrix Lestrange, one of the most fascinating and alluring villains to emerge out of the Harry Potter universe. A mistress of evil she might be, but she does have feelings (especially for Voldemort).

Sagittarius-George and Fred Weasley

Sagittarius is one of the most curious signs of the zodiac, always willing to wander and to explore new things, new places, and new experiences. That being so, if you are one of these curious signs, then you would probably be either George or Fred Weasley, the red-haired twins who seem to always have a way of finding the best way of getting into trouble.

Just be sure that you learn to channel those energies in the most effective way.

Capricorn-Voldemort

The Capricorn is a very independent sign, with a serious nature that makes them very in control of themselves and thus effective leaders. Unfortunately, they can also be very stubborn and are prone to being intolerant of others. If this is you, it may be that you are most like Lord Voldemort, once known as Tom Riddle.

Let this be a warning that, independent and self-controlled you might be, you need to be a little flexible in how you relate to others that are different from you.
