Was a graduate Of U of M with an office in the old museum, 1986. Not excited about the changes. What a pleasant surprise. We spent hours here in the beautiful building. Easy parking.

This is a fantastic natural history museum with a really well-thought layout. While it’s slightly geared towards younger scholars, there are plenty of displays that everyone can appreciate. This place does a great job with several hands-on displays and labs that allow children to garner a better understanding of the exhibits. One of my favorite areas was one showcasing native Michigan plants and animals. They also have a planetarium show for an additional charge.

Museum designers struck a good balance between amount of content and visual appeal. This is a perfect rainy-day place especially if you have the kids on a day off school. It is also budget-friendly as admission is on a donation basis.

Growing up in the area, I frequently visited this museum. The University has moved this museum to a new location. I was disappointed not to see many of my favorite exhibits. I grant you, the exhibits were not all open as of October. So maybe on my next visit to A2, more will be available.

Sorry you were disappointed. Three more major exhibits and two public Investigate Labs have opened since your visit. There's a lot more for you to explore the next time you are in Ann Arbor!

The old UM Natural History museum was dark, dusty and dated. After years of planning, the museum was completely rebuilt and brought up to date. Many interactive displays for younger visitors. A new planetarium. Everything is logically displayed now. Definitely worth a visit.
