‘The Sandman’ Earns Rave Reviews From Fans: “Everyone Understood the Assignment”

The Sandman has finally dropped on Netflix and judging solely off fan reactions, the show is an emotional watch with a top-tier cast. Many flocked to Twitter to praise the new series, calling it “amazing” and “really f*cking good.” I mean, people are literally leaving work early to watch it, so that must say something.

One user wrote, “Wow. Sandman is so well done Three episodes in. Beautiful to watch. Amazing cast. So perfectly done,” while another said, “I got sent home early from work today so that my boss can watch #TheSandman.”

Someone else chimed in with, “The casting in @neilhimself’s #TheSandman is absolutely spot on — everyone understood the assignment and brought their A game!”

“Watched the first two episodes of #TheSandman and I’m totally hooked. If you’re not watching this you should be,” a fourth person said.

“There is a shocking level of the gay, in #TheSandman,” someone tweeted. “This pleases the court. The gay agenda is making progress.”

Others found the show to be emotionally provoking.

“Only 5 min into the first ep of #TheSandman and I already have tears in my eyes,” a viewer wrote.

Another said, “It is a testament to the actors and the creative teams behind #TheSandman that the CGI creatures like the raven and gargoyle utterly pulled at my heartstrings.”

“My heart is actually ready to burst with how happy I am with #TheSandman,” someone else posted. “If Netflix dare cancel this show, I’ll riot. I need to meet Delirium & Wanda.”

The 10-episode series, which is a live adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s comic books of the same name that came out 30 years ago, stars Tom Sturridge as its protagonist, Dream, as well as Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Patton Oswalt, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Boyd Holbrook.

The Sandman is currently streaming on Netflix.
