Mick Wilson has been lead vocalist with 10cc for the past eight years - currently on a 33-date UK tour. Together with 10cc founder member Graham Gouldman, he has now written and produced his debut solo album, featuring lead single Never Ending Summer An extremely commercial album, with a stream of strong airplay-friendly tracks, co-written and co-produced by Mick Wilson and Graham Gouldman. Also a guitarist and keyboard player, Mick has performed and recorded with numerous artists, including Lionel Richie, Cher and Kylie Minogue. He is also a regular member of The SAS Band, which plays all over the world wih guest artists including Brian May, Roger Taylor and Roger Daltrey. Last year he featured as one of the guest vocalists on a series of concerts across Spain with a 40-piece symphony orchestra and rock band, playing the music of Queen. Among other musicians on So The Story Goes are former Shadows drummer Brian Bennett (on the Eddie Cochran-inspired Take Me Dancing) and longtime 10cc guitarist Rick Fenn. It Aint Braggin If Its True is reminiscent of vintage Seventies 10cc. Airplay is being targetted at BBC Radio 2 initially.

This is one of those CDs where it is impossible to pick a favorite song because they are all so wonderful. Mick Wilson's music is upbeat and positive in nature and also soothing at the same time. He has a fabulous voice and seems to be a perfectionist considering the quality of his music. You will not regret ordering this CD and it also would be a wonderful gift to someone looking for a new favorite.

I just ordered this CD and then read the one-star review posted here. I thought, "uh oh, did I err in ordering this CD?" I decided to check out the reviews on the Amazon-UK site and noticed 5 stars across the board. Everyone who bought the CD loved it! Not a single bad review.

It leaves me to conclude that either the person who left a bad review here holds a personal grudge with an ax to grind or simply has bad musical taste. Either way, I'm inclined to believe the UK reviews and can't wait for my CD to arrive.

I first became aware of Mick Wilson by going to see the "modern" 10CC, which only has Graham Gouldman from the original "fab four" remaining, but also includes Rick Fenn and Paul Burgess for group completists! For the uninitiated, Mick is 10CC's "voice" of Eric, Lol and Kevin, able to sing all the hits they sang on, and plays various instruments during 10CC gigs. This talent is taken on to this release, with Mick playing guitars, drums, various keyboards and bass. Graham Gouldman is present on every track too, and the pair co - wrote and produced what is an excellent, grown - up piece of pop rock. I love the opener, "Take Me Dancing" particularly, but there are excellent tracks throughout, and this is a release well worth taking a chance on.

I heard Mick in his other role as the current 10cc lead singer and was impressed with his performance of some of my favourite songs sung mainly by Eric Stewart. Mick's vocals were just as good as Eric's. This solo album is excellent showing that Mick can write and perform his own songs just as well as he can other peoples! There's a really good range of songs on this album and hopefully this will help to raise the profile of Mick as an artist in his own right!

Great songs that are very easy on the ear. Liked the feel from first to last. Didn't realise when I bought it that the excellent Graham Gouldman was his collaborator in writing and producing. As you would spect from these stalwarts, wonderful harmonies abound. Hope the next one doesn't take so long Mick!
