Netflix has been releasing content non-stop, and their latest original series has the potential to be a hit. Fakes is about two friends who accidentally build an empire selling fake IDs. The story is told from differing perspectives leaving viewers to wonder what's real.
The cast of Fakes is great. They all give amazing performances, especially the three main characters. Several of these actors have prior experience in the craft, and it shows. Fans of this new series can explore the films and tv shows that the cast has worked on in the past.
Jennifer Tong - Honey Girls (2021)

Jennifer Tong plays Rebecca Li in Fakes. Becca is an aspiring influencer and half of the duo that starts the business of making fake IDs. She tends to be extravagant and reckless.
Fakes is not Tong's first acting performance. She also has a part in Honey Girls, a family film available on Netflix. The movie follows ten finalists in a singing competition as they work toward the opportunity to open a concert for Fancy G. Jennifer plays Hannah, one of the finalists. Compared to Honey Girls, Fakes is a darker project with much higher stakes. Even with the differences between projects, Tong does well in both settings.
Wern Lee - Superman & Lois (2021 -)

Wern Lee plays Clem in this new Netflix show. Clem is Becca's boyfriend, but after their breakup, she omits him from her side of the story altogether. Clem also happens to be Zoe's lab partner and crush.
Lee plays Tag Harris on Superman & Lois, one of the best superhero shows on TV. Tag is a resident of Smallville who becomes a meta-human with super strength, speed, and expedited healing abilities. Tag has appeared in both seasons 1 and 2, and he's been through a lot of character development. Season 3 of the CW show has been announced, and fans are already speculating and hoping for Tag's return to the series.
Richard Harmon - The Age Of Adaline (2015)

Richard Harmon portrays Tryst in Fakes. He has connections on the street, and he helps Becca and Zoe find people who want to buy their products.
The Age of Adaline stars Blake Lively as the titular character. After a car accident, Adaline is no longer able to age. Richard Harmon plays Tony. He appears at the very beginning of the movie and provides Adaline with fake IDs for her current alias. Interestingly, Richard plays a young man who sells paraphernalia in both Age of Adaline and Fakes. In an alternate universe, Tony and Tryst could be the same person at different stages in their life.
Emilija Baranac - Riverdale

Emilija Baranac plays Zoe, the one who started it all when she made a replacement fake ID for Becca. She tends to be cautious, and she has frequent panic attacks.
Baranac plays Midge Klump on Riverdale. Midge is considered one of the best characters introduced after season 1. She's the star of the high school's production of Carrie, and she's brutally murdered by the Black Hood on show night. Her death was a shock to viewers everywhere. Midge had become a fan-favorite character, and the show's decision to kill her off showed that Riverdale isn't afraid to take things darker than they have before.
Maddy Hills - Secrets Of My Stepdaughter (2017)

Maddy plays Taylor in Fakes. She's a minor character, but her contribution to the story is big. With her appearance, it is revealed that she had a baby with Tryst, and she is adamant about protecting her child from him.
Secrets of My Stepdaughter is a TV movie thriller about a teen's witness to the murder of her best friend. Maddy Hills plays the deceased friend, Leslie. The movie takes a turn when Rachel (Tiera Skovbye) begins to show signs of sociopathic behavior, leaving her stepmother to wonder if she had a hand in her friend's death. At its best, this is a Lifetime movie that will keep one entertained, but the story is provoking, and likely one of Maddy's more well-known projects.
Richard Harmon - The 100 (2014 - 2020)

After Zoe and Becca, Tryst is the most prominent character in Fakes. He helps the girls in many aspects of their business. He gives them a place to produce the IDs, connects them to clients, and so much more.
Richard Harmon is likely most known for playing John Murphy on The 100, one of the best science fiction shows on TV. The CW show follows a group of troubled teens who are sent to earth nearly a century after a nuclear war forced their ancestors off the planet. John Murphy is introduced as an antagonistic character in the first season, but throughout the series run, he grows to become one of the good guys. Harmon was praised for his performance, and it's exciting to see him take on another show in a lead role right off the bat.
Mya Lowe - Yellowjackets

Mya Lowe plays Sophie in Fakes. She is a classmate of theirs, chosen to deal fake IDs for Becca and Zoe. She thrives in her role and begins finding herself enamored with Zoe.
Mya mainly works as a dancer in various movies and TV shows such as Descendants 3 and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. More recently, however, she has stepped into the light as an actor, with Yellowjackets being her most popular project. The Showtime series is about a girl's soccer team who is forced to fight for their lives after surviving a plane crash. Mya is credited as being in 7 episodes. She is only a background character, but fans are intrigued to possibly learn more about her in the next season.
Matreya Scarrwener - The Professor (2018)

Matreya Scarrwener plays Sally, an over-the-top and dramatic student who joins Zoe and Becca's business. She messes up and loses a wad of fake IDs which destroys the whole operation.
Scarrwener plays Rose in The Professor, a movie starring Johnny Depp as a professor who finds out he's on death's door and begins behaving recklessly. Rose is one of his students. She's conscientious and talks a lot. Rose and Sally in Fakes are very similar in this way. Both are teased and ignored often. Looking at it from a different perspective, both characters are shamelessly themselves and don't care about what others think.
Emilija Baranac - To All The Boys I've Loved Before (2018)

Emilija Baranac has been in several shows and movies before starring in Fakes. The same year her Riverdale character debuted, she was also featured in what would become one of the biggest romantic comedy trilogies on Netflix.
Baranac plays Gen on To All The Boys I've Loved Before. Gen is Peter's ex-girlfriend and Lara Jean's ex-best friend. She holds a grudge against Lara Jean for kissing Peter during a spin-the-bottle game when they were younger. She also appears in the following films, in which she and Lara Jean make amends. It's easy to wonder if TATBILB may have kick-started Baranac's relationship with Netflix, and helped her earn her spot on Fakes. Either way, she's great in both projects.
Jennifer Tong - Sacred Lies (2018 - )

Before Honey Girls, Jennifer Tong played Tracy in season 1 of Sacred Lies, a show based on a Grimm fairy tale and a novel by Stephanie Oakes.
The show is about a handless teen who ends up in a youth detention center after escaping a cult. Tracy is a member of the youth group there. This series is one of the first to be released exclusively on Facebook Watch. The half-hour episode series is thrilling and mysterious. Several Fakes cast members also had small roles in the show, such as Mya Lowe and Eric Bempong. Whether Sacred Lies is how they met is unknown, but it's cool that they have this shared experience.
