DC FanDome brought out the big guns with a Shazam: Fury of the Gods teaser that gives us our best look yet at the highly-anticipated sequel. In addition to reintroducing us to key members of the cast, we’re also treated to a look at Shazam’s new suit. That’s not the only upgrade, though. Zachary Levi says that Shazam: Fury of the Gods will bring bigger action, set pieces, and incredible locations to the upcoming film.

“We go from Athens to Philadelphia, The Library of Eternity, The Rock of Eternity, to the Realm of the Gods,” says Levi in the trailer. The Shazam: Fury of the Gods teaser also gives us our first look at Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as Hespera and Kalypso, respectively.

The Shazam: Fury of the Gods teaser also promised lots of mystical creatures for the sequel, including minotaurs, harpies, and dragons. There also looks to be plenty of explosions, car crashes, fisticuffs, and do I smell a bit of puppy love in the air? Why is it that comic book movies love rooftop confessionals so much?

Much of the original cast have returned for Shazam: Fury of the Gods, but a few of the new additions include Helen Mirren (F9The Fast Saga), Lucy Liu (Elementary), and Rachel Zegler (West Side Story). Shazam: Fury of the Gods is currently slated for a June 2, 2023 release. The sequel will follow the events of the first film, which was met with critical acclaim and made $366 million globally.

How excited are you for Shazam: Fury of the Gods? Did today’s teaser meet your expectations? I think the sequel looks better than the original already, and I’m stoked to see everyone’s passion for what looks like a great superhero adventure. Feel free to let us know if you’re feeling the Shazam love in the comments section below.
