Wow, so sorry to hear about this. We just traveled on all these highways during our recent trip. I can't imagine how this is impacting all those in BC right now.

Life goes on much as it always has forest fires are a fact of life here/always have been

Town of Cache Creek now being evacuated.

These fires are having a massive effect on people, their families, property, and hundreds of firefighters, pilots, heavy equipment operators etc risking their lives...so yah MAJOR impact. It's by no means normal to have a day like this.

I drove from Terrace to Prince George today. Heavy, heavy rain around PG this evening, and seemed to be SW as well, Hopefully it heads towards the fires.

We were going to go to Williams Lake on Monday for a sad reason. I don't think we'll get through! In any event the hotels/motels etc will be filled with DPs!

A province wide state of emergency has been declared. Dozens of major fires have started today in the Cariboo so enter the area with care!
