The Rimrock Cafe is just of the highway near Creekside. The outside ws inauspicious. However, inside it was warm with welcoming staff in a restaurant which was wood framed. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and steered us to two excellent cocktails based on...our preferences. Out waiter next outlined the specials of the day and everything was mouth watering, We both had seafood appetizers and entrees, but there is an excellent selection of meat on the menu. I had a fresh fish ceviche appetizer, and a seafood trio of Sable fish, Salmon and Halibut. The sauces and flavors on each fish contrasted very well to produce the satisfying whole meal. Highly recommended, Most Whistler hotel transported can drop and pick up here.More

My wife and I very much enjoyed the food and service at Rimrock Cafe for another Anniversary dinner in this time of “staycations”. Special Cocktails were very well mixed, up there with best Cayprinha’s I have enjoyed. As Seniors, it was appreciated that our server...confirmed our choice of appetizer was adequate to share. It was! And delicious. Often restaurants try to oversell. Entree’s were delightful, and finally veggies recognizing that extreme “al dente” is a thing of the past. Also a subtly crispy serving of Spatzle, unique and delicious for this age-old standard (favorite) limp noodle. Again, allowing for our age/appetite-capacity, our server offered a “mini” serving of Sticky Pudding. As good as the best we have enjoyed even in my country of Birth, Scotland. In all we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and evening at Rimrock Cafe to celebrate our Anniversary. Thanks to Chef, the kitchen and our server and staff. To note! Every and all Covid safety precautions were obvious and well enacted. Enjoyed our entire experience.More

All we can say is wow. If you want to be spoilt this is the place to be the staff were very attentive and knew the menu well. They were able to offer suggestions on both the food and accompanying wine if you so wished....The food was very tasty and of good proportion. This place is very popular so booking early is well recommended for this amazing experience.More

Went there for Xmas Eve & they were offering a set menu @ $160 per person so not cheap by any means so was expecting exceptional food especially as it's rated highly. Service was good as was the food but not great. My husband was...a vegetarian & he was not over the moon with his menu. First 2 starters were hardly what you would expect from such a expensive per head menu. The veggie main was chickpea curry. Not sure if they had made it before but it was hardly a curry. It was bland, hardly any chickpeas and reused cauliflower from the main. Just to bring the point home for me, I was asked if wanted fresh pepper on my chickpea curry. Clearly the waiter had no idea & was surprised when I said no. The worst part was that given the VERY expensive per head, they did not even offer 1 complementary drink not tea or coffee at the end of the meal. Clearly they felt they could not offer that at $160 per head. When we paid the bill, we decided to pay the 10% service charge, yet another rip off, in cash but as it was not charged to the card, the waiter nearly had a heart attack and his reaction was as if we were about to leave without paying. My wife left a tip but it was not deserved & if it was up to me, I would not have as the set fee was payment enough. Average food, no complementary drink or tea or coffee, over rated, very expensive & no atmosphere given it was Xmas Eve. It was a mistake going there & will not be going there again & cannot recommend it either.More

Its hard to say if its the exceptional service, sublime wine, or the incredibly executed meals but when we come to Whislter, Rimrock is one of the most important elements. The math is simple: if we stay six nights, we book for three with Bob....(the owner) We have been coming regularly for the last few years and have been charmed from the start. If you want a high quality dining experience with genuine connection instead of pretense when you're in Whistler, pick Rimrock. Go in any direction on the menu and you will be amazed. The wine is divine. The ambiance is easy. Call ahead, give them the wheel and wind down your day with total nourishment.More

I cannot day enough good things about my experience at the Rim Rock Cafe I sat at the bar solo dining - and it was such a treat. Steve the barman was very gracious and knowledgeable and guided me through many food and wine options....I ordered scallops - which were heavenly, perfectly cooked to melt in your mouth and served with some delicious burre blanc and amazing interesting corn salads with a mild spicy flavor Followed by the venison steak with two delicious sauces, Demi glaze & Porcini cream reduction which we’re just divine. It came with a unique German fried pasta that i was dubious about so also ordered garlic mashed potatoes and both were delicious! And to finish I had a mini sticky toffee pudding that I had read so many reviews about and it did not disappoint... it was scrumptious. Thankfully they did a small portion which saved me from gorging in a full size one, which truthfully I would have done even though my poor little belly had zero space after the Venison 😬 The service was exceptional. Steve was so cautious and knowledgable about the food and wine and offered great options. The owner Bob was full of interesting stories and lovely chats, and he very kindly bought me a drink to finish off my meal. They made it a really nice experience dining solo. I cannot recommend this place enough, it is hands down the best restaurant I’ve dined in in Whistler. I will most definitely be making it a priority to eat there any time I’m in Whistler againMore

I’m not sure about the “fine dining” label though all the dishes we ordered were well executed and tasted really good. The presentation was just one notch below fine dining I feel. We were recommended the lobster bisque by our ski instructor who’s been in...Whistler more than 30 years and said this is his favorite restaurant here. It was smooth and had a robust lobster taste. We ordered the day’s special which was a cod fish dish and I had a fish trio. Both were excellent. Dessert was great too. Service was good and everyone made us feel welcome. There was a kid’s menu with a good variety. My son chose steak and it was cooked perfectly medium as per our order. I would definitely return again.More

A friend and I had dinner here this week. The food and service were excellent and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We both had mussels as a starter (approx $19 ea) and the seafood trio for an entree ($48 ea). The wine list is...extensive at all price points...including mine at the lower end...we had $60 Grenache blend red which was very nice. Tough to get reservations so call we'll ahead. We are at a high table near the bar. It was comfortable and good dining experience.More

My husband and I had a great time at Rimrock. We had the four course menu and every single course was amazing. Our server made great suggestions with both the wine and food, and was very attentive. There were so many options for a fixed...menu, and the portions were generous. My husband requested the table in front of the fireplace, which was very romantic. We will definitely be eating here again on our next trip to Whistler!More

We had a very pleasant evening dining on a lovely patio. It started with close attention to Covid requirements on our arrival and continued safely throughout the evening. Our waiter was very skilled and professional and thus helped us make choices that enhanced our evening....The rack of lamb was absolutely tender and delicious with perfectly prepared accompaniments. We were fortunate to get a reservation as it was the first time they had opened on a Tuesday since the onset of the virus. It appears that reservations are made well in advance, so book before you leave home. We will be back.More

I don’t dole out five stars Willy-nilly!! The service was top notch and the food...!!! The best food I’ve had at a restaurant in years and possibly ever - I’ve dined our a lot! Lobster bisque out of this world. We had the tenderloin and...trio of fish and I can’t find a single fault in anything (which, if you know me, is unusual). The dessert medley was so perfect for the indecisive because we could try everything.More

This restaurant lived up to it’s reputation as one of the best in Whistler. We ordered off their 3 course $49 deal and it was a great deal! The wedge salad is one of the best I’ve had. The lamb was cooked to perfection, my...friend had the mixed grill and loved it. Atmosphere is great for a fine dining restaurant. The only thing I would mention is we had a friend with limited mobility and there is no elevator to get up to the restaurant, it is not handicap accessible. This was almost a big issue for us but in the end we managed.More

We had an older fellow serving us who gave amazing service all the way through. That being said, when our entree took nearly 1.5hrs for the "daily chefs selection" we nearly fell asleep in our chairs. Unfortunately with all of that good service he didn't...apologize for the wait, and everything was full price on our bill. Coming from a small northern town, when service is poor, things are on the house. This was also during our honeymoon and we had specified that on the reservation, no special effort was made to make it an extra special experience. Again, food was great! Service was sub par, and did not feel special at all at our honeymoon. (Cry me a river, right?) I feel like a 3 star review is fitting as the food is a definite 5/5 but the rest was lacking. Cheers!More

Cocktails and wine options were marvelous. We feel it's THE higher quality restaurant in Whistler that is consistently excellent;...but of course, the prices reflect that and it's worth it!!!More

At one time Rim Rock used to be amazing but its lost it's edge . 1st and 2nd courses arrived at the table at the same time and the 2nd course was cold . Main course was way late and arrived cold . Dessert was...served and our dinner plates were still on the table . Our wine was empty and we never got asked if we wanted more . Talked to the owner and he wasn't welcoming or friendly . I will never go back :(More

Nice casual wear is acceptable. Shoes, sandals for women. No slippers or flip flops. Collared shirts for men. No shorts, cut offs . BTW, try the sticky toffee dessert.
