Always our best dining experience when visiting Whistler. The staff has been able to accommodate reservation requests/changes for us on multiple occasions and this has been accomplished with grace and minimal fuss. The wait staff are excellent. The food is always delicious, I highly recommend...the sushi/oyster bar as well (random tip, try an arneis with sashimi, an unexpectedly wonderful pairing). If you are a wine geek the sommelier’s are approachable/knowledgeable and always fun to engage to find something interesting for you. If you love vintage wine, they have a list that will have you reaching for your credit card. Read it carefully, sometimes the price of a vintage bottle offers 'value' compared to the most recent vintage of the same wine.More

Top notch food and very attentive staff giving exceedingly good service. We went for 55 dollar fixed menu and not disappointed with the choice. When booking via web I was asked if special occasion and said yes, a birthday. Waiting staff wished happy birthday and...when dessert was served it was on a special plate with Happy Birthday piped in chocolate.More

We are a family of four (2 adults + 2 teens) and wanted to splurge on a nice dinner. The shuttle driver of where we were staying recommended Araxi and shared that they were having a prix fixe 3-course meal. What a delight! From the...welcome, to the attentive, informative, kind service to the amazing raw oysters, octopus, duck, filet and desserts, just an all around enjoyable dinner experience. We will definitely return when back in Whistler!More

We were celebrating a friend's birthday while we were in Whistler and decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. We had reservations (for 6 people) so getting a table was no problem. Everything seemed good as we were seated and were trying to decide...on cocktails before dinner. We ordered our drinks, our wine for dinner and our appetizers. Then our server disappered. As we watched other tables get seated after us and get their drinks and appetizers, we sat there for 30 minutes or so without anyone checking in on us. No drinks, no food, no service. We finally had enough and went to find a manager. We told him it was unacceptable service. The restaurant was busy, but they had enough wait staff as we watched all the other tables get served in a timely manner. About 5 minutes after speaking with the manager, our drinks came and the manager comped our wine. The rest of the night went smooth and all of the food was good. Unfortunately, it was ruined by the terrible service. We were supposed to meet up with some other friends but they got tired of waiting because from the time we sat down until we finished, it was almost a 3.5 hour long dinner. For what we paid for the meal, waiting 40-45 minutes for our drinks and having no one checking in on us is unacceptable and likely will prevent us from every going back there again.More

Unfortunately after weeks of hype up from my boyfriend, this oyster bar was beyond a disappointment. Right off the hop we felt like an inconvenience because we did not have a reservation. Luckily they were kind enough to find us a 2 top in the...lounge.... Unfortunately the waiter we were given was less than happy to serve us, let alone take pride in his job. We ordered some east coast oysters which he forgot about... followed by drinks that sat on the bar for over 10 minutes as our server was no where to be found. When we ordered our entree, our server thought it was necessary to inform us of the "unequal cook time" of our entres and that it was inconvenient for the kitchen to serve these dishes simultaneously..however when the deer venison showed up the tuna roll was no where to be found(exactly opposite concern of the server to begin with) Our server was beyond rude (eye rolling Included) and our overall experience would've been better with someone who gave 2 craps about his job. He clearly needed a hug. We paid for our drinks and left before food all was served - one of the most uncomfortable hours of our dining lives - hopefully the dude has a better day tomorrow because damn, he broke our experienceMore

We had a late dinner at Araxi last evening after a long day at work. We didn’t arrive until almost 9pm and didn’t have reservations snd they were able to accommodate us, which we were grateful because we were hungry . The staff were very...prompt and knowledgable . My husband and I decided to order oysters and Prosecco to start and they were both great. The menu seemed a little limited but found choices that we both wanted, including the lobster dynamite roll , tuna sashimi and the sablefish which we shared. Everything was ok with the exception of the sable fish which was very tasteless. For.the quality and pricing of the restaurant, we expected more. They were all mediocre. The waitress asked us about our meal and we told her about the sablefish, which she immediately removed from our bill . Being a little hungry we decided to have dessert. My husband ordered the cheesecake and I ordered the cheese tray. Both were excellent . Our service was excellent, but don’t know if we will try again next time we are in the village.More

I am so glad I booked this restaurant! It is expensive but the value is there. The setting is lovely, the service was impeccable and the food was all delicious! We chose to do oysters, and small plates, great decision for us! Loved, loved, loved...the beet salad! it is not to be missed. The octopus was perfectly prepared, and the crust on the crab cake was perfect! Thanks for a lovely evening! We were here in February and since they serve seasonal dishes, everything we loved may not be available, but rest assured what is offered will be delicious ! This restaurant is expensive so I would not recommend it to families with young children. The wine selection is amazing!More

Pre-Covid Araxi was one of my favorite restaurants on the planet and I went there twice or more per week. The sommeliers knew my wine preferences and I could go anytime, be recognized by the staff, and after waiting for sometimes an extended time still...always get a high top table in the bar. Yesterday a fresh faced new receptionist flatly told me she wouldn’t even put me on a wait list for a bar table. As I peered in I recognized no faces but saw a new sommelier and all new waitstaff. I’ll just have to wonder what it’s like inside now.More

Only giving it a two star because of our waiter, Jeff, otherwise it would have been a one. Despite reserving more than a month earlier no table big enough to accommodate our group. The Maitre d’ was rude and one of our steaks was so...tough even the provided steak knife couldn’t cut it. Will not be recommending it or going myself again.More

I have wanted to eat here since it was part of the Hell Kitchen series. I even went to the location for the finale. So for my partners special birthday we finally got to go. My red deer loin was good but the rest of...the meal was just okay. The fois gras starter was not the best I have had (Quebec City and Chicago restaurants I ate at did it better) and the Wagu beef was average which given the cost was disappointing, (Wolfgang Pucks Cut in Vegas made this meat look meh in comparison). I also found a curl short dark hair in my food as the server placed it in front of me. I was glad we tried it but honestly would not pay for it again given the experience. Also being seated in the main artery of traffic from the kitchen was disrupting and unnecessary given so many free tables. We felt overall a little robbed.More

We visited in a group of six for Araxi's 39 anniversary dinner special, ordering from the prix fixe menu. The meal consisted of five courses with choices of starters, entrees & desserts all for $39 per person. The food was delicious (all five courses) and...our server was super efficient and very friendly. The wine list can be a bit daunting with far too many pages and prices ranging from $60 to $1600 and beyond. If you're planning on ordering wine with your meal, I'd recommend having a look at the wine menu online before you go so you won't have to spend a lot of time dwelling over it when trying to visit with friends. The restaurant adheres to all the Covid 19 protocols and we felt totally safe. The staff were wearing face coverings and tables were nicely spaced apart. The bathrooms were cleaned after each use and patrons are required to wear masks when walking throughout the room. If you can get there while the anniversary promotion is still going on, it's a terrific deal. If not, go any time, Araxi has survived 39 years because it's one of the best in Whistler.More

Amazing experience all around! We were excited to get a last minute reservation for 4 at 8:45pm after we had a wonderful experience at their sister restaurant, Il Caminetto. We happened to get THE BEST server, Andrea, who was impressively knowledgeable about wine selection, the...flavor profile of any cocktail we asked her about, and details about the dishes we were interested in. Our party had specific allergies (gluten, dairy) and she asked right away and continued to educate on what substitutions were possible. (Our friends said the gluten free bread was the best they've had). We loved the oysters and the foie gras parfait was to die for. For main dishes we had the halibut (fish special), duck breast, veal cheeks and deer venison loin. All were delicious but my person favorite were the veal cheeks (so tender!). The lemon tart at the end, plus a few more rounds of cocktails (all great) sealed the deal for us! I will go back here every time I am in WHistler. Andrea was hands down the best server I have ever had, and on top of the great food, made the experience what it was for our party. We will talk about our night at Araxi for years to come, thanks to her!!More

Most countries do not celebrate foreign holidays. Just as it is unlikely to find a Thanksgiving dinner in the US on the Canadian holiday, the same is true in reverse.
