What are your opinions on the gold and ultraviolet lantern corps
Don't really have an opinion on Ultraviolet. Just seemed like a macguffin Lex used to get Sinestro to join the Injustice League & was never useful again.
Gold had potential but not from the hack writing of "they're just Green but now only 1 Lantern per universe I guess, who cares, thanks for scalping Gold Lanterms appearance in one issue losers".
I still do not know what the main emotion of the Ultraviolet Corps exactly and the Gold Lantern is very very interesting
uv corps are drippy but the gold ones are dumb
Laaaaaaaame! Too many corps makes the GLC less special. You have to have at least Sinestro with his yellow ring. I like the reds and the blues. I even like how they retconned Star Sapphire into being a corp. Orange is… ok. It’s fun that it’s one jerk. Indigo is lame. Black and white are lame. Anything else is just overkill.
I did like the Green Lantern Corpse (although the punny name is dorky). The whole thing about swallowing a GL ring tablet and getting a short term power burst for spy missions was fun and different. I believe it pre-dates the current mythos with the emotional spectrum and color entities so it’s probably no longer part of continuity.
nah orange is peak, it makes perfect sense and is super creative that the corps representing greed has one fucking guy who just kills everyone else who gets a ring and his constructs are the corps itself
I'm exhausted on new corps.
I still don’t understand what the UV corps are
TBH, there's too many corps. I think after the white lanterns they should have stopped. I get the UV lanterns, but feel that it wasn't enough of a draw and further convoluted the mythos.
Trash tbh, UV lanterns can be seen as other colors, base dark emotions and Gold isn't explained well at all.
Ultraviolet violet corps has lots of potential. There a lots of people who suppress their emotions for various reasons, UV corps can utilise that as a focus point and theme.
As far as I understand, Gold Lanterns don't draw their power from emotional (electromagnetic) spectrum. It's power just similar to the green lanterns. But we don't know why that is?
I thought Ultraviolet was an okay addition. Gold isn't really a colour on the electromagnetic spectrum. From my understanding Gold isn't even really explained or used to it's fullest yet either.
I think the ROYGBIV spectrum already pushed to concept to its breaking point, and any other further Corps overwhelms the mythology. The ones we already have haven’t been explored enough to warrant further entries.
Agreed
Im kinda fine with the idea of the uv lanterns but gold lanterns are trash. I agree id prefer more of the roygbiv we already have than even more corps though. We haven't seen larfleeze since hal jordan and the green lantern corps bottled light. That was march 2017! 6 YEARS AGO!!!
Yeah, it’s a shame they never explained or showed what happened to him after fleeing his base. A bunch of the post flashpoint lantern stuff just gets forgotten for whatever reason such as Atrocitus making a new rage entity in the earth’s core , Soranik leading the sinestro corps, parallax Hal Jordan who was never heard from again, where kyle’s orange and blue rings went to,cyborg superman having the phantom ring, outcome of the red lantern vs sinestro corps battle at the end of the new 52, how the heck atrocitus came back into power despite being defeated and arrested etc
