let me tell you the history of this song

According to records, there are two sources on the origins of the National Anthem before the national anthem became the National Anthem of Malaysia. The song is an anthem of Perak and in addition also a popular song called Light of the Moon. According to Tuan Haji Mustafa Albakri, the Keeper of the Rulers, the song was used for the first time as the Perak State anthem in 1901, which at the time of the coronation of King Edward VII of England. Murshidul'adzam Sultan Idris Shah (late Rahmatullah) to be Sultan of Perak from 1887 to 1916. At the time of the coronation of King Edward VII in 1901, Sultan Idris has traveled to England as a representative of the Malay Rulers for the Federated Malay States in The Installation ceremony. When arriving at the Port of Southampton, a protocol officer from the Colonial Office boarded the ship and asked the Perak State anthem. It is the practice in England at the time that when the Heads of State or king departs, the country's national anthem was played. At the time Perak did not have their own anthem. Raja Harun bin Sultan Abdullah, Secretary to the Sultan is a musician. He even aware that Perak did not have their own anthem did not want to admit defeat.

After hearing a description of Harun bin Sultan Abdullah the protocol officer  let him play the song without notes. Then he played the Perak State anthem without not. The song is actually Terang Bulan. With the Terang Bulan on earth England in 1901 for the first time and also the Perak State anthem. From that moment the song Terang Bulan Perak State anthem until it became the National Anthem National Anthem and Malaysia.
