From the minute I arrived at The Clarendon, I made to feel welcome. Everything from the accommodations and facilities to the service was out of this world. The room was large, clean and extremely comfortable with a view to die for. The decor throughout the hotel is beautiful. Shirley and all of the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. I find that so often staff at establishments can either come across as apathetic or overly helpful, but this was clearly not the case at The Clarendon. Breakfast was delicious and I love the personal touches throughout such as the personal note waiting on arrival and the homebaked biscuits and cake. Nothing comes across as mass-produced. All in all, I would highly recommend The Clarendon.

My husband and I enjoyed two nights at the Clarendon Bantry Bay and absolutely loved it. Our main boxes we wanted in accommodation was a beautiful view, boutique amenities, and comfy king bed. The Clarendon met and exceeded those needs. We loved our balcony of our superior suite and felt the staff was the most friendly. The breakfast (we both had the eggs Benedict each morning) was so good. The location was perfect as we were close to everything we wanted, but it didn't feel over crowded or too busy. It had parking which was also one of our wishes. The bathroom had lovely shampoos and soap and it was so spacious. I would definitely stay here again when coming to our beloved CT!

This hotel charges top dollar but their generator is broken for an extended period (which means you will be without electricity for around 6 hours every day due to load shedding in South Africa). They also gave us a lower quality room than the one we booked and paid for. My wife and I promptly left within an hour of arrival, after being offered candles for when the electricity goes out. This is unacceptable for a “luxury” hotel and even more unacceptable that they do not at least give their guests a courtesy email prior to arrival to let them know that the generator is broken. The hotel agreed to give my wife and I a full refund (and sent us an email confirming this), but one month on and we are still fighting with them to get our refund. What kind of establishment agrees to give you a full refund in writing and then subsequently decides not to honour their agreement? I have uploaded the email as proof of this. Absolutely shameful. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else (most decent hotels have generators). We ended up moving to the 12 Apostles Hotel & SPA and the difference in amenities and service was worlds apart. …

We were repeat guests and I must say the service at this hotel is outstanding. Shirley & her team have a way of making each guest feel comfortable & special. We had privilege of staying at the Villa 50m away from the hotel & it was 5 🌟 experience, amazing sea views, spacious rooms & patios, plush bathrooms…A place I call home away from home, thanks to Shirley & the team…😍We can’t wait for our next visit…🤩🌟

Perched on the side of the hill, it stands above everything between it and the ocean. Views are great, rooms are large, and upscale. The pictures are no exaggeration. It is a lovely place to stay. Breakfasts are excellent and more than anyone would need or want. Being tired one night, we opted for dinner at the hotel. To be fair, the hotel is not well equipped for dinners as it is a boutique hotel. The food was fine and did the job. The other nights, we got an uber (which is very easy) and took a 10 minute drive to the V&A waterfront which has lots of restaurants and Shirley (who is great) will recommend her favourites. We had great casual Italian at Balducci, salads at Balthezar after the Robben Island tour and excellent fish at Baia. But that has nothing to do with The Clarendon, just keeping my reviews simple. This is a great place to stay, intimate, first class in every way, great staff in an excellent location.…

Broken generator (so no electricity during load shedding periods). Still fighting the hotel for a refund. Suggest you go somewhere else with a working generator given the price of this hotel (most hotels have working generators).

ideally situated, lovely rooms w/ panoramic ocean views, excellent and friendly service, very good value. Would recommend the Clarendon over newer 5* boutique hotels in Cape Town I have stayed at recently and also no clue why one would pay crazy rates charged by Ellerman House (next door) with Clarendon being friendlier, beautiful rooms, stunning views. I would pick Clarendon over Ellerman if money no object.

I spent one night at The Clarendon Bantry Bay as i needed to just step out of life and find a place to EXHALE. The minute i walked in i was greeted with the most welcoming and warm smile then shown to the amazing balcony overlooking the Atlantic Bay where i already felt happy and stress free. The rooms are spacious and there's a 24hour bar service with an amazing breakfast after i slept like a log which was much needed. I checked out the next morning feeling rejuvenated and i can definitely see why tourists or even locals love this property so much. Beautiful paintings to view as you are escorted to your room and there are 16 rooms in total. Each one individually decorated. This property should be on everyone's bucket list as it ticks all the boxes. Well done to the Team.

The best personalised luxury Guest House in Cape Town. Staying in either of the two guest houses is equally wonderful and staff make it personal for a returning guest. The guest houses are upgraded yearly for the past 12 years of frequenting it. Top recommended accommodation.

You cannot walk to table mountain - better to have a car or use uber - stunning view of sea and could walk to beach but better to drive. The concierge service - very helpful as it is small and personable and they aim to please. You can view the rooms and request your room and there may be a price difference between sea and non sea view! Have a great time --
