Bantry is a thriving market town set in the vast sheltered Bantry Bay. This was our last stop on this year’s Grand World Voyage. We had to tender into the town pier where we took a tour that took us on the “Ring of Beara”, a route that took us around the wild and relatively unexplored Beara Peninsula, with its rugged land and craggy shores on the Atlantic Ocean. Our travels took us to the town of Castletownbere to see McCarthy’s Bar, a view of the colorful town of Eyeries, and a stop in Kenmare, a quaint Irish village.
