Fast and Furious 5 (Fast Five) starts filming in Puerto Rico! (Dodge Charger SRT8) | Charger Forums
Today started the filming of the fifth movie of the Fast and Furious franchise!! Puerto Rico is the site selected to film this edition, and these are the first pics from the shoot, tweeted by Tyrese Gibson:
from the looks of that bumper cage, doesnt it look like theyre trying to drift it without damaging anything... maybe a drift plot again, but in the US??
I would rather get hit in the nads than watch a Fast & Furious movie.
Even when they try to have cool cars, they suck. I mean have you ever looked at the B-body charger they ran in that movie with a fake supercharger sticking out of the hood. These movies are GARBAGE.
I disagree... the last one with the original cast was actually pretty good. And the fake blower was for the stunt car (no sense is screwing up a 10k engine for a scene) The driver car was real...
I think the movies are good entertainment. They're certainly not good movies, but they're worth the $8 I spend to go watch it in theatres with a bunch of dudes to get all riled up about fast cars.
In truth, I spend the $8 just because they brought the B-body Charger back in.
That's pretty cool. Thanks for finding those pictures.
I've never seen an SRT8 with a roll cage, let alone one underneath the car and in rear protecting it. Atleast the charger is an SRT8 too!
I wonder if they're actually going to be using a Charger as one of the main cars.
And incase nobody noticed.... IT'S BLACK!!!! :rocker::alfdance:
So you're saying the flat black is for the effects wizards to be able to better work with the car on screen and not have to manage so much reflection? Hmmm.
I think one of the cars in the movie should be the "Walmart SRT10" driven by some upstart ricer. Whatcha think? Then Vin can smack him down and put him in his place (tell him all the things we've been saying on CF)!
Why isnt Patrick chiming in on this thread? Isn't he like Vin Diesels biggest fan? Haha.
Also, I hate to say it, but each film besides Toyko drift only really had 1 nice car. The Charger in the first, the Skyline R34 (Even though it was riced out with decals) in the second, and the Grand National GNX in the 4th film. Toyko Drift had some of the best cars. Silva, RX-7, Evo IX, and before you guys start screaming ricer, 67 Mustang with the RB26, The Viper, the Primer Gray Monte Carlo that had a 509 in it, and the short glimpse of the Road Runner GTX at the end of the movie.
Hopefully they step their game up this movie and we dont see anymore Jettas, Eclipses, or Civics.
Looks like a camera car... camera rig... rigid, tied to non reflective car. But remember.... I'm just an idiot. Plus, if they did have an SRT8 in a f'n f movie, it'd be getting smoked by Hondas and Kias.
im betting the car ISNT in the moive.. they are using it for sound effect purposes only.. recording the sounds it makes and then dubbing it over some other car..
hence the coned autox course and the cage over the back in case the tail gets loose.. just generating sound fx.
COOL an SRT is gonna be in teh movie esp a CHARGER! kick a$$ I think maybe the weird lookin braces are for cameras to be mounted maybe?? I like the flat black look but hope there is more than just 1 charger in the movie..it would be cool if thats what that all drove to go do their dirty work lol. Imagine how cool it would look to see 5 or 6 chargers all in the same color in one pack just rippin it up on the streets! i will def go see this just because its another movie about cars!! and it has the one i own! too cool
Blaz, as far as I know, the information I received tells that there are more than one Charger in this movie. A total of more than 60 cars arrived to Puerto Rico, according to a friend's information, who is working with the production as a resource for getting the cars needed and the spots for filming the movie. Let's see if the information is real, I'll keep you posted.
How are people hating on these movies? Are they realistic? No. Are all of the cars great? No. Do they have cool action and are they fun? Yes. We aren't talking about great cinema. They're popcorn movies. The last one actually had a decent plot for an action movie.
The first, third, and forth ones are okay. The second one is so over the top and cheesy that I would rather cook my eyeballs in a microwave until they explode and the smear them on the TV screen just in time to watch 4 seasons of Bridezillas back-to-back-to-back.
I'm too analytical. Movies need to have realistic elements for me to enjoy them.
Maybe too early for you guys, but think "Mad Max" when he shuts off the supercharger with a toggle switch because he is low on fuel. From there on... the movie sucked for me.
I watched the part of the first and one of the other F&F movies.... meh. Kinda like watching paint dry.
