Lovely nature trail through wetlands by the river. I unfortunately bailed after about 20 minutes as I was being eaten by mosquitos. In the summer, do not go without bug spray!

This is a nice park, formerly called Fort George Park, for over 50 years. There is a playground for young kids, there is a bandstand, water park, walks along the River.
I was visiting family & friends while in Prince George and wanted to go see the park. The flowers were beautiful at the entrance on 17 th Ave.

A wonderfully kept park with trees and flower beds.

Well kept - clean, well groomed, nice private sites with lots of trees. Nice clean bathrooms. Easy to get trailer in & out.

Lovely 360 views of Prince George at the top. What I didn't like is that there seems to be absolutely no walking/hiking paths per se (indeed, much of Prince George felt not particularly pedestrian friendly!). There is one road into the park leading to the top, so I walked on the same road as the cars. (about a half hour). Once at the top, there are some lovely flower beds. Continuing around the circumference at the top (ditto on the roads for cars) there are pretty picnic areas and green spaces.

We don't have a boat but we go to West Lake often. First of all it is close, second, it is
well kept. Change rooms, showers, tables, boat launching, place for grilling, playing ball, toilets, large parking lot. The water could be a little warmer but good. Our friends and us we go out for picnic. The bottom line is it's good for young and old.

This wooded walking / bike trail is amazing! The entrance off Foothills or the many smaller entry ways on the east side make this the perfect site to get to. To walk the entire loop is approximately 3.5 km and could be done in a wheelchair (summer months).
I feel the City should mow the entire centre field, rather than just the strip they do up the middle. Not only does this make the site more usable, for picnics, ball throwing, but seeing that there are bears, fox and other wildlife, it would make it safer to have visibility. The main area of the meadow can have the grass get well over 4' tall. I've seen people trying to push buggies, and people take their families down there to enjoy the site. If it was mowed completely, this would make the park more user friendly for all types of visitors. Perhaps even a bench or two or picnic tables in the middle field areas would be a nice addition.
Otherwise, love this space. Amazing hidden gem.

The unusual decor of this charming hill has become controversial in recent times. So you may find that the hidden and not so hidden teapots that children love have been removed. Even so, this is a fine hike. Be prepared for some grunt work to reach the top, but its worth it; the views are exceptional for this part of the world. At is bit of a drive north of Prince George.

Nice little hike not far from town. Takes about 2 1/4 hours to reach the trailhead, which is a right turn just north of Pass Lake. About 40kms of the drive are on unsealed road, but it's in decent condition.

The hike begins at low elevation through cedar/hemlock forest and crosses a couple boulder fields before steeply climbing. A somewhat strenuous ascent for two hours takes you to a small crawl cave on the side of the mountain, then about 30 mins after that as you crest a saddle you pass over a sinkhole and then see the main entrance to Fang Cave on the other side with a stream pouring into it. This cave is for serious spelunkers only and is the 9th largest in Canada.

After the cave it's a much easier walk through alpine meadow and lakes. The path is poorly marked after this point and often there is no clear "path," only flagging tape markers on small trees to guide your way. If it's foggy it is possible to get lost, so be careful. It's only an hour from the start of the meadows to the top of Fang mountain, which is listed as Fang SW2 on Google Maps.

Dahl Lake is accessible from one end of Norman Lake through a short little creek between the two lakes. Once you have made the paddle through to the lake you are in relatively pristine wilderness. There are islands on the lake where you can disembark and eat or rest in relative peace.

Park is immediately beside River and offers great views, with low visitation, a peaceful respite within the city.

Beautiful location for a walk close to downtown PG. Easy walking trails with several options for circuit from parking lot to viewpoint over city. Trails not too challenging but a little bit of elevation change, one of our group had some balance issues and did fine with walking sticks. Visited first of August and park was full of berries: blueberries, saskatoons, raspberries, thimbleberries and strawberries. Took long trail to left and around to viewpoint however elected to take straight path back after finding fresh bear scat at viewpoint!

If you have little ones Duchess Park is the best playground/park to stop. Really this park is good for kids of all ages. Lots to do, clean, modern and tons of space.

It is close to town and it is a beautiful hike that is fairly easy to use to the lake but depending on far you want to walk it does get a little harder...watch out for bears
