The 50 best spots for lunch in Launceston

We are visiting from Melbourne for the weekend and hoping to try some of the best Launceston has to offer. Mudbar came highly recommended by local friends and also our accommodation. Unfortunately it fell short and we cannot recommend it. In essence we found it overly priced for the small serving sizes. The menu on their website did not match the one in the restaurant and the mocktail which I asked for to be citrus based tasted like pineapple juice mixed with some cordial. The pork belly entree were just two pieces of fatty belly served with too much sauce and no serving spoon. We ordered their famous lamb for the main but were given a different lamb dish in their entree size (without our knowledge) even then that plate looked sad with the thinnest slices of lamb I’ve ever seen at a restaurant. The choy sum (a side) were served with some scourer fluff and had to be sent back. The waitress did bring us a fresh plate but we were surprised that the courtesy of taking this item off the bill was never offered which left a bad impression for what is supposedly a fine dining restaurant. We paid over $140 for one cocktail, one mocktail, a bottle of sparkling water, half a dozen oysters, two entrees & two sides. For that sort of money you should not be leaving a restaurant hungry and disappointed.

Unbelievably good. This was the best of Asian style and modern cuisine beautifully aligned to make a spectacular dining experience. From the little crackers with dipping sauce to the 'I am so willing to get fat eating this for the rest of my life' duck with mushrooms and noodles...heaven! Just heaven. The mocktails were also well crafted so that they balanced well with the mains, and for those inclined, an exceptional wine list showcasing the best of this region. Don't get me started on desserts! Please. I'm already fattened enough from the duck. No. Seriously. Have your mouth blown away by this perfectly designed menu with a wide offering of flavours. Not a mediocre bone in sight. Enjoy.

Excellent service! We were greeted at the door by a super friendly guy who took us to a table. Food was good- we both had tempura. Carrots were delicious! Great location. Was nice to go for a walk around Southport after eating. Cool atmosphere at the Mudbar.

A must visit when in Launceston! This place seriously has it all. From the moment we walked in the staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant itself was booked out when we arrived (no shock now!) but they were so accomodating for us to still grab a bite to eat in the bar area. We ordered at the bar (but you can order drinks at your table via QR code too) and the food came out relatively quick considering how busy they were. We had the Sticky Sesame Pork Belly with wasabi gnocchi and black vinegar dressing, the Soft Lamb Dumplings with Thai galangal, green chilli and pickled papaya and the Huon Salmon Sashimi with avocado puree, green nahm jim and parsnip crisps. All of these dishes were out of this world delicious! I seriously cannot rave about them enough! On top of the great food, the music was excellent which provided an awesome vibe here. Add this to the staff and you are definitely on a winner! Do yourself a favour as the saying goes!!!

We randomly selected Mudbar on the back of other reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. Great selection of food on the lunch menu. I started with the oysters. Superb! I could have dined on them all day. For mains I had the twice cooked lamb. Succulent and falling apart. Divine. Dessert was the bao buns. Good choice. Service was exceptional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Mudbar.

We were very well looked after by Ethan for our anniversary lunch. The free drinks were much appreciated! Delicious food and attentive service, discretely making sure we were finished at the time we requested.

It's not often I visit a restaunt everything is perfect. The location is perfect for a beautiful evening meal and drinks. The lovely waitress who served us was fast on her feet, knew the specials by heart and was extremely professional and friendly. The food was fast and delicious with a heavy Asain inspiration to many of their dishes, the pork belly starter was tender, juicy and flavourful so the soy duck main dish, the overall presentation of every dish was beautiful and each of my companions loved their food. Finally they have a large, well stocked bar with many cocktails and a large range of wines and other beverages. I would honestly fly from my home in Queensland all the way to Launceston just to eat here again.

A very enjoyable experience with friendly knowledgeable staff. Ema was engaging & knew about the wines on the menu, as well as the food selection on offer. Highly recommend. We'll be going back soon.

Deliciously amazing food (salmon & the pork belly), amazing & attentive staff, & the cocktails went down way too well. Conference dinner, limited menu but no complaints from anyone, including those with dietary requirements.

Fantastic Asian inspired menu, including a unique and delicious oyster dressing that tasted like traditional Chinese steamed fish. The lamb that came directly from the owners’ farm was the best cut of lamb I’ve had. Our server was super friendly, and the music was good too. Experience definitely matched up to the expectations set by the price tag.

We had the most amazing time for our anniversary. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious, I can not speak more highly of the staff & the fabulous food, thank you.

You know how sometimes you read a glowing review and you think... they can't be that good, surely. Well, after visiting Mudbar I can confirm that the reviews must be true because the food and the service was really, really good. We had soft shell crab, lamb, tempura mushrooms, rigatoni, great cocktails, wine and beer. Service was efficient, friendly without pretention and relaxed. A wonderful place for a celebration when only the best will do.

We took a chance and asked if they had a table (online the restaurant was marked as fully booked). Luckily they found us a table for two in the main dining area. My partner and I had: Starter: duck pancake and scallops you cauliflower mash Main: Market fish of the day and fish and chip combo Dessert: sticky date and banana pudding special Everything was delicious I would say this is a place where you would need to have a starter and main each. The portions are fair however I think if my partner just had the main he would need a little more food. That being said I don't think the portions are small they are enough and everything was delicious. They had a bread service on the menu that as it walked by looked amazing. I would go for that as well next time. Out of all the restaurants we had a look at I would say the menu here is the most appealing especially their seafood offering. Service was really good and attentive, they really did a good job even though they were fully booked. With all the above a couple of alc drinks a soft drink, a bottle of water and a coffee the bill was around $175 which is very reasonable for the quality of food and service we had and the beautiful atmosphere.

They were sold out of oysters which was disappointing, so we had the pork tacos as an entree instead. I have never tasted anything so delicious in my life, they were absolutely perfect and the highlight of the night. Highly recommend. The mains were pretty average and actually a smaller portion than they look. We sat down at 7:15pm and didn’t get our entree until 8pm and our mains at 8:40pm. Need to work on their wait times as a lot of people would have just walked away.

Friendly and patient services. Amazing entrees, and awesome mains. I’m not a fish person but I loved their blue eye trevalla. Our first night in Launceston and glad we chose to come here for dinner.

Great atmosphere and table arrangements that cater to being able to have conversations at a good level. The food... WOW. Brilliant presentation and flavours that compliment each other and entice the palette. Generous servings that leave you content and struggling to consider the dessert menu. Very friendly team members that are fluid and professional.

Third time trying this place, as the service is friendly, attentive and energetic. Food this time around, is amazing and faultless. We had the Korean Fried Chicken- crispy and flavourful, the salmon and squid ink rissoto shaped like a rectangular Lego! - crispy skin, fresh salmon and umami rissoto, seafood Orecchiette was generous with seafood and the sauce was full of flavour and thick. Great dragonfruit cocktail and a very unique in-house raspberry sour.

We ordered the scallop with green pea puree and Korean fried chicken for entrees. The mains were a black rice seafood risotto and blue eyed trevalla. The scallops were cooked nicely but let down by the puree which was grainy and lacked flavour. The fried chicken and risotto were delicious. Sadly the trevalla was overcooked. The chips were overfried and salad was basic. The staff were friendly however service was slow.

This was an amazing dining experience for our Sunday evening. We had just arrived into Launceston and luckily Rupert & Hound is open later on Sundays for an 830PM booking. The service and food was exceptional, Adam had great knowledge of the food list and their specials. We ordered Oysters Natural Entree Squid Atlantic Salmon Twice Cooked Pork Belly Eton Mess Tiramisu All were delicious, fresh and extremely well cooked Plus the Mango Mojito and the Christmas Punch were a nice festive touch.

Such a wonderful place. Service was very pleasant and quick(but not trying to hassle you out the door) food was well worth it. The cocktails were very nice. Thank you for such a lovely evening.

Ordered seafood feast for two & cheese garlic bread, generous portion, all seafood was fresh. Best octopus ever!!! Also love the squid, so tender. We were full, couldn't finish, couldn't have dessert, did take the leftover food away. Highly recommend 👍👍👍👍👍

The young man who waited on us was excellent. Found us a table, Helped us with advice on food and drink. Checked we had everything we needed. The food was excellent in both quality and quantity. Good views out the windows. Definitely worth going to.

Great location looking on to the River, very friendly service and the food is of a good standard. Had a few starters, Garlic Cheesy bread, Scallops and the R&H Squid which was the best of the three, perfectly cooked. Had the Scotch Fillet for main, was cooked just how I like it and seemed like a good quality cut of meat. Also enjoyed a cocktail and liked that they do have smaller bottles of wine available.

Delicious! I got the market fish of the day with side of potatoes and green veggies. My partner got the seafood platter and we shared oysters. Happy I got to have some good quality seafood in Lonny 🫶

excellent restaurant that you can't miss in launceston. probably one of the few things that make us want to go back to launceston again. we had no idea what to expect so we were thrilled to go back two nights in a row. tried the market fish, octopus and prawns. friendly and attentive staff. nice atmosphere by the river.

The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. The food was tasty and satisfying. However, the service fell short of expectations. It was a bit strange when a trainee placed plates on top of our menus. Also, despite the booking indicating 5 people, the table was too small, making the dining experience a bit cramped. While I understand space constraints, it was slightly disappointing. Nevertheless, overall experience was enjoyable.

Food was really good, a bit pricey, but very tasty. We had seafood feast for two. Wine was also very good. Only downside was the table we were sitting, which seemed to be in odd location very close to next table, with a room divider. A part from this, experience was good overall.

A popular Cafe that's within the Launceston CBD with a variety of pastries to choose from. I tried their sausage roll and pie, and they were very hearty and cooked well (a few places overcook the meat in a sausage roll). The pastry was also nice and crisp and the home made tomato relish was a good combination together. Service was relatively quick for a busy Cafe, and there are a lot of options for diners to choose from. Will be back in the future 👍😋

Amazing toasties and scrambled eggs. It’s been 12 months since our last visit and yep, we will be back again. The coffee was 👏 too, and the fruit kings pie was a perfect balance of fruit and short crust. See you Tuesday for breakfast!

This place was on top of my list to go to for breakfast in Launceston, lucky to have this ticked off on our last day. The food lived up to our expectations - my favourite was the morning bun. I would like to thank one of the girls behind the counter for recommendation, it’s better than the one at Lune Croissant. The other pastries we ordered were great as well - mince pie, mini danish, banana bread and curried lamb pie (initially we ordered a different pie but it was sold out). Ordered a large size oat mocha as well - they use Alternative Diary co (yay).

Sensational cafe experience with upbeat vibes and very friendly team. Outstanding sourdough and good selection of baked goodies. We had sardines and omelette for breakfast which were both really nice. Also a broad selection of coffees, we had a v60 and an espresso and both were to a high standard.

Coffee/Pastry and Restaurant is iconic, with a great feel, history and considerable reputation. $31 for two coffee’s and croissants I consider a little steep, or is the sign-of-the times? Coffee was good, service quick and efficient. Croissants great. Worth a visit if in town. Perhaps my expectation was too high…

Wonderful atmosphere with beautiful rustic decor. Walnut croissant was a tad pricey at $9.90 but has convinced me that it makes for a far superior nut-croissant with the walnuts adding more crunch than what almond croissants have. Took a few bites of the chocolate chip cookie before it grew on me, and the sea salt on top helped mellowed the bitterness from the dark chocolate chips!

Sensational crossiant!! Love the warehouse setting, feels like it's somewhere I can just sit and chill, keep eating pastries and refill my coffee... Wish I could stay longer in town to try more pastries!

One of my favorite Breakfast spot in Launceston. Must try their famous Walnut Croissant. Eggs on toast is great in portion. Wish they bring Chicken Sandwich back to their menu.

Came here for a light breakfast and love the look- the converted butter factory is a nice touch to the cafe. Simple set up with food being more take away / not cooked dishes so more bakery offerings rather than a brunch cafe offering many cooked alternatives. Service is quick but would love more thing on the menu. Burger was well priced and tasty as was the walnut croissant.

Excellent cafe. I use to go it when located in other part of town, near Harvest Market. Was told it had moved, so I tracked it down to check out the new digs!. This is a better location close to city opposite a beautiful park. Has that urban, industrial feel with it's own character. Coffee and cake was great. Service professional and friendly. Seemed quite popular for a Monday morning. Must be all the beautiful cakes, slices and croissants on offer. Recommend

Delicious Sandwiches and coffee. We ordered the bean toastie and the chicken sandwich. Coffees were yummy too. The sourdough bread used on the sandwiches are so soft! The decor is tasteful, loved the paintings and the plants that were scattered around.

Wow to croissants made on-site with their own butter omg it’s so flaky crunchy on outside especially the ends and chewy on inside. Perfect. Great double shot short lattes too

The roast and flavour tones in the coffee roast and blend accompany all savoury and sweet this wonderful place has to offer. Come in and check it out, if I lived in the are and was not from Melbourne this would be my local and daily.

Such a nice little cafe! Two storeys. The coffee is on point! One of the best I've ever had in Tassie. A friend tried mocha and it's one of the best mocha too - that's not too sweet! The croissant was so good too. Great atmosphere

Our group of 3 had a delicious breakfast here on the 30th September. The service was a little slow but incredibly friendly and the food was a solid 5 stars. We all ordered the porridge as it was the perfect breakfast for the freezing weather. Highly recommend and would definitely eat here again if we’re in Launceston again.

Lots of healthy yummy food options. I adore the buckwheat pancakes! every element is so well considered and balanced. Great place for gifts like chocolate and tea. Warm and welcoming. Embracing accessible and unpretentious, though a lot of intention and creativity goes into the menu. Lots of space for wheelchairs and prams, great for hearing impaired people, not too noisy - you can chat with your friend! Looking forward to many more nourishing meals here.

Great food. Our server asked if we were having cow milk...funny eh! Rather a different look when I answered yes. Guess cow milk isn't mainstream any more...lovely food but service so so so slow as and the place was empty...

The cafe was easy to find if you are in Launceston cbd. Mushroom was ok and my wife ordered the tofu, which was delicious. If you come for a brunch I would recommend the tofu for you

The ambience of this place makes you feel as if you are in China, even though I have never visited China. I loved the gorgeous paintings, the embellishments, the humble and friendly waiting staff, and the authentic food. Everything here is mindfully curated to elevate your experience. The soup was heart-warming, the lettuce chicken cups were really flavourful bombs, the steamed seafood was simple yet satisfying, and the chicken with meat fried rice was simply scrumptious! This place is expensive, but if you look at the experience as a whole in Launceston, it is indeed really good!

Didn’t think we would get such amazing Chinese food in Launceston while visiting from Melb. If they are in Melb they would be slammed with lines waiting out the door. Service was fantastic, food was delicious ( highly recommend the scallops with spring onion and truffle mushroom … out of this world!). Thank you for the yummy food… our tummies are still dancing 🥰.

Wow - simply incredible food and service. My husband and I shared everything and it was all excellent. For starters we had the peking duck pancakes (filled with LOTS of duck - very generous and incredibly succulent and tasty) and the Char Siu (roasted sliced tenderloins of Scottsdale pork, honeyed soya, maltose, candied walnuts - such a wonderful combination of flavours). Our main course was the mount buddha chicken (deboned oven roasted chicken fillets with diced coriander, fresh chilli, garlic & ginger in vinegar dressing, garnished with strips of sugar coated baby bok choy leaves - which was delicious and enjoyed with plain rice) and gai larn (Chinese broccoli wok tossed with ginger garlic purée and a little chilli). Yum, yum, yum ! We left with full bellies after a wonderful evening. I should mention the peking duck pancakes and mount buddha chicken came already portioned so my husband and I had our own dishes - sensational and very thoughtful. Our waitress, Jasmine, was extremely attentive and professional. And of course, Stanley is a brilliant maitre-de flitting between all the tables and ensuring everything was perfect for all. Drinks were well priced and we enjoyed a Leeuwin Estate riesling.

The customer service was on point, which is a big deal for a Chinese joint. The staff was super friendly and observant (very rare for a Chinese restaurant) Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the sweet and sour pork, lo hon jai, and Mt. Buddha chicken, and they were all yummy. The sweet and sour pork had that perfect tangy-sweet combo (could've improved by being more tangy and adding cucumber), while the lo hon jai was a veggie and tofu medley that got the flavours right. And don't even get me started on the Mt. Buddha chicken—it was really tasty with the sweet sour and salty vinegar sauce. However, sadly the ee fu noodle was a bit of a letdown. I mean, seriously, it was a rip-off. The portion was tiny, and there was hardly any crab meat in there. I was pretty bummed out about it, to be honest. It didn't live up to the rest of the meal. And hence reducing 1 star. But overall, it was a decent experience. And definitely one of the better asian restaurants in this small city. They did not charge for takeaway containers and chilli (which was a pleasant surprise and makes the experience better because the prices of the dishes were already expensive enough!)

Very authentic Cantonese cuisine just like home, surprisingly nice fried ice cream coating and strawberry sauce. Lamb stew bean curd could be cooked longer though

Easily the best Chinese restaurant in Tasmania. We weren’t expecting to be THIS GOOD when we came. Everything about this restaurant was great. The staff and greeter was very nice. Our waiter was super awesome and provide the best and exceptional service. The food was really fresh and awesome. Would definitely be back again!!!!

Coming from Melbourne, I’ve been to many of these classic, suburban Chinese restaurants, and this was certainly up there in some of the best. Service was top notch and a big selection on the menu. A nice surprise to see a dedicated vegetarian section with a lot of choice apart from the typically bean curd and vegetables. Wine list was also extensive, with a $15,000 bottle of French wine, if you’re in the mood for that… All our food was delicious, and the fried ice cream for desert really topped our meal off!

After being booked into Peppina for our 1 year wedding Anniversary and receiving the devastating news 1 hour prior to our booking time, that they had made the decision not to open for that evening. Me Wah were kind enough to open their doors to us at the 11th hour. From the first moment of walking in through the front door, they made our special night something exceptional. Me Wah (although I have come to expect no less from such a brilliant establishment) puts on a masterclass in customer service. Something that I have noticed is missing from many a restaurant post 2020. Our water glasses were never empty, our drinks never left finished. Napkins laid, chairs pulled out for you, quick jokes shared with the wait staff, help choosing drinks, the list goes on. We were left wanting for nothing! As far as food goes, everything was delicious and well seasoned. Our highlights were the singaporean chilli prawns and the fried rice. We could return, only to eat 5 courses of that fried rice. Everything served was hot and even plated to share at our request. A truly impressive experience in dining and service, I cannot rate them highly enough.

We were just looking for restaurants that open late at night but little did we know Me Wah's staff deliver a level of experience that's a hundred times better than what we've experienced in Sydney. The scallop is to die for, very well seasoned, it just hit all the spots. Highly recommended. Would definitely come again.

Signature Banquet was to die for, I rolled out of thr Me Wah so full but every bite and every dish was better than the one before it! Service is amazing, the staff know how to pair their wines with the banquets and make sure your glass is never empty.

My husband and I have eaten in numerous Chinese restaurants all over Australia and South-East Asia but Me Wah in Launceston was definitely an experience to remember! Me Wah embodies everything that is quintessential about Chinese restaurants but done to the highest of standards. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and showed to our table straightaway. What struck us the most was the crowd that night, from families to couples to groups of friends - everyone looked like they were having the best time and all their (as well as ours) needs were met with and served to straightaway with the most genuine of smiles and courteous of mannerisms. The food - was absolutely amazing, fresh and tasty! So much so that we immediately cancelled a dinner booking we had for a different restaurant so we could come back and sample the rest of the menu the following night! We definitely recommend the entree scallops, Aberdeen fish fillets, Mount Buddha chicken, sweet and sour pork (which in my opinion, was one of the best I’ve had since coming to Australia and I’ve had A LOT of sweet and sour pork over the years) and truffle mushrooms. Do yourself a favour - do not pass on the chicken consommé because it is truly the epitome of traditional boiled soup that feeds the soul. And yes, leave room for dessert because the salted caramel sauce drizzled into the peanut parfait and the mango sorbet on apple lychee granita will complete the dining experience! Kudos to Stanley and his team at Me Wah Launceston for providing us with one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time and please continue to do what you’re doing! You are truly an institution in Launceston and we look forward to coming back to you soon!

This place was the culinary highlight of Launceston. There were a handful of good places in the area but this place was amazing. We went during off peak time so we didn't have to wait much but I can imagine it'll be difficult to get a table during the popular times. The food was delicious and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The coffee was great too making this a place I will definitely come back to.

Excellent establishment nestled in the heart of Launceston. Service was top notch and food was beautifully presented. We were very comfortable sitting in there for a couple of hours. Worth popping in for a coffee or breakfast!

This cafe is exceptional & could hold its own in any capital city in Australia. Set in an old theatre the decor pays homage to the original building, but gives it a new lease on life. The menu is modern Australian with an African twist, it really is a taste sensation. Staff are very friendly and helpful, giving the cafe a relaxed,hip,vibe. Highly recommend if your visiting Launceston.

Due to time rush, I have not have a chance to order the food here. But can see the food quality is really good and beautiful. The coffee is excellent. Really nice staff and service is good. I think you won’t be disappointed if you have a coffee and some breakfast there to start your day.

Visited this place on Australia Day and surprisingly it was the cafe's 1st day of opening. The food was amazing and the owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Had such a great experience - will definitely be coming back 🌟

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a cafe that exceeded my expectations on every level. The standout item on their menu was undoubtedly the Espresso Tonic. It was an absolute delight for my taste buds, perfectly blending the rich flavor of espresso with the refreshing fizz of tonic water + a bit of lemon- I couldn't get enough of it! Moreover, the overall environment of the cafe was fantastic. The ambiance was professional but cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for relaxation or catching up with friends. The decor was tastefully done, creating a pleasant atmosphere that enhanced the overall experience. But what truly made my visit memorable was the cafe's friendly staff. I couldn’t fault anything in our brekkie experience here, the food is innovative and flavourful. The service was to the point with smiles all the way. We ordered 1) Tostie of the day - a vegan eggplant based filling with so much flavour that we couldn’t ask for more. 2) Shakshuka - THE HIGHLIGHT - fenugreek based with goodness of perfectly cooked eggs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A delicious spot in the centre of Launceston. We were recommended this cafe from our nearby Hotel. The food was fresh, and the menu offered a wide variety of interesting options. The citrus crepes were delicious! My partner had the baked chilli eggs - enjoyable but very very spicy. Being from Melbourne, we have dined at a fair few coffee shops. We liked the quaint interior, and atmosphere was hustling and bustling. They were out of lactose free milk - something not a fault of their own (supplier shortages). But the coffee was not too shabby! The only let down, is that right next to us was the coffee machine. Where the barista and one of the staff were having quite a full on bicker at each other. Made it a little uncomfortable!

The staff was friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in. Excellent coffee and great variety of sweet and savoury breakfast options on the menu. When the food arrived, presentation was colourful and well thought out. Highly recommended cafe for breakfast if you’re in town. If you’re lucky you might get seated in one of their quaint private rooms.

Tucked away down Tatler Parade is a surprisingly open and spacious cafe. The venue is clear, bright and clean, with plenty of room between tables. I had the Baked Chilli Eggs, which had a nice flavor and just enough spice to add flavor and warmth without being overpowering and unpleasant. I ordered a weak cappuccino, which had a nice flavor and was exactly as strong as I had hoped it would be. I would happily visit again next time I'm in Launceston.

What a great dining experience! This hidden gem in Launceston is absolutely delightful. Cafe/restaurant and bar. The food and coffee is amazing, the atmosphere is contemporary modern and pays homage to Tasmania. If you find yourself lucky enough to have brunch, you can’t go past the baked eggs! At night the bar is ready with local wines, beer and spirits, specifically Gin.

The food is amazing and the coffee is even better - but for me it’s the community that make this place truely special. Whether I pop in to Sweetbrew or Tatler Lane, I’m always greeted with a smile and the very best customer service. The team work incredibly hard to offer a personalised experience and I can say that I’ve not had one bad experience at either location. Wow what amazing flavours, presentation and so much variety for a vegetarian brunch. Didn't try the coffee but would go back. Great service. Food took a while to get but was busy Sunday brunch. Lovely waitstaff.

Our group of 3 had the pleasure of eating here on the 29th Sep and 4th Oct on a short trip to Launceston and surrounds. The avo toast is the best I’ve ever had, it was so good that I had to have it again on our second visit. On that second visit I had the porridge and shared the avo toast - it might have been way too much food but I just couldn’t miss out. There’s nothing I can fault about tatler lane just wish it was my local in Sydney. Highly recommend 👌

A very good Indian restaurant at Launceston. Definitely a must visit place. The staff are very friendly and always eager to provide the best possible customer service. Coming to food, except for Dal Makhni, we loved everything. The lentils were a bit uncooked in the Dal Makhni, otherwise taste wise it was yum. All other food options were tasty and portions adequate. If you happen to be in or around Launceston, do add this place as one of your must visit locations.

Truly a gem! We love our Indian crusine and Spice Lounge did not disappoint. We asked for Asian spice level and lets just say it was a little more than a kick, more than what we expected and hands down one of the best indian I had in years. Absolutely enjoyed the Hangover Chicken and Goat Curry. All the food was served hot and the view is stunning. Staff was extremely patience and intentive. We will be back.

Overall a good experience with average customer service. But good is not very spicy food which is what you expect when you go to an Indian restaurant.

Walking by the river, I stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The service was great, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine.

The atmosphere was fantastic, beautiful and absolutely authentic. Beautiful staff and wonder service. I'm very particularly about my Indian cuisine, as I have very deep folded connections with my heritage. The spice lounge charmed me beyond what I could imagine. Food is genuinely lit with beautiful flavours and amazing taste. I loved the butter chicken with naan and the authentic lamb Rogan. Superb and just perfectly cooked with that branded touch of spice house spice. I'm looking forward to another authentic experience soon.

I was visiting from Sydney with some family from overseas. I have had alot of indian food and this meal was very poor.i could not get the indian flavours in the curries. The girl who served us was very good and had a smile on her face all the time when we dealt with her. Customer service is about engaging with your clients and been happy.

Had such a delicious meal here, four of us had the banquet and a few beers and wine. A really enjoyable feed and a cute and cozy restaurant. Loved the decor and the look of the place, there are really cool notes left on the walls from previous patrons. The food was unreal and we were so full afterwards. Highly recommend.

I received a very dry and burnt schnitzel burger. Was hoping that it wouldn’t taste like how it looked, sadly it was worse. A very disappointing way to end a burger craving.. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for a decent burger, Launnie has plenty of good joints around. Just not this one :(.

After a long shift, all I could think about was eating a nice classic beef burger. After doing some googling and discovering the location was walking distance from my hotel and the reviews weren’t too bad I made my merry way to this joint. Upon arriving I noticed there were quarter eaten burgers left outside on the tables. I felt slightly alarmed but my stomach growled so loudly I instantly dismissed this and walked inside. I ordered the lunch time meal deal which included a soft drink can. I asked if I could pay the extra difference and get a passion fruit soda glass bottle instead and was met with an abrupt ‘nope, either get a can or pay for something else’ sheepishly I nodded and waited outside. 15mins later I was drooling, making my way back to the hotel to diminish my burger. It was safe to say I was beyond disappointed. The bread must of been days old as it was so stale. The meat still pink and not properly cooked. After two bites I decided to throw the burger in the bin, it wasn’t worth the risk of getting sick especially for something that tasted so gross. On the plus side, the chips were tasty and fresh.. I liked the spicy salt

My first meal in Tassy I got the lunch deal, gluten free and dairy free. Omg soooo filling, fresh and delicious. For a drink I got an almond, caramel milkshake : YUM and HUGE. My boss got the tassy burger and said that it was a great combination for a classic. $- great. Cost about $32 roughly I think. Service- 100%. Smiles and welcoming nature. Food - great Atmosphere- super chill with a beat

The burgers were amazing! I had the Summer Sun (GF) and shared a large fries. Loved it! The menu was well-priced & it was around $25 for the burger and a bottle of Cider. The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the cafe had a great vibe.

I have visited Burger Go Soul over the years since they opened and the food and service has always been wonderful. Their special of the day, the fish burger, was delicious! I loved my bunless Summer Sun and the chips were amazing, as usual!

One of the nice restaurants in Launceston. Food is great and staff are friendly. There is on street parking and sometimes it difficult to find a good spot. This is a busy place. Toilets are at the back of the building and you need keys from restaurant to access them. We ordered Fish & Chips, Pizza, Burger etc. Service is great and delivered on time.

Like stepping into a little corner of Greece 🤩 Good authentic food through & through, great servings and totally delicious 🤤 Don’t go past the cocktail list, very enjoyable. The owner has their own version of ouzo, delightful, smooth but not overpowering. Staff could not fault, service spot on. I witnessed such patience and tolerance with a large table in our proximity - well done. Just go here, you will enjoy yourself thoroughly

For our wedding anniversary we decided on Elaia. Food and service was excellent. We shared Saganaki for entree and had the Moussaka and the 6 1/2 hour lamb with lemon potatoes. Absolutely delicious and we will be back!

Elaia has been around for a long time and I've had many a breakfast or lunch date there over the years. However i hadn't dined there now in quite some time and decided to book a ladies dinner catch up for 7 people last Saturday. The menu is now Greek and what a wonderful display of Greek food it was!!! Everything was so flavoursome and delicious. The serving sizes were very generous too! I don't think anyone was able to eat everything off their plate. 2 of us decided to do the Greek feast $70 set menu. It was amazing! Basically we got to try a bit of everything off the menu including dessert! I would definitely recommend to give Elaia a try, even if you have been there in the past, because the new Greek menus are fantastic! I don't think there are any other places in Launceston doing Greek cuisine either so it's definitely filling a void.

Had an amazing “all day” Saturday breakfast today. Staff are very welcoming and engaging. Chilli Eggs were very enjoyable and Coffee was perfect. A great easy to start our Saturday.

I saw very good review of this place and went to have brunch however upon arrival the waitress was so rude and cold. We ordered ramen bowl and chicken burger where ramen bowl was the worst one I have ever had. That bowl was totally disgusting, I mean there was nothing like ramen bowl and served kinda cold and not tasty so far. I suggest everyone to not to become fool and go there. They may have some nice menu but the ambience and the waitress of the place is very bad. We asked for water and sauce and she came and banged the table with the jug. Worst place ever been on Launceston. Don’t waste your money.

As a seasoned traveller (& a Melbournian) I've had ALOT of brunches & are spoilt for choice...but I've never had eggs benedict like the Inside Benedict. The service is spot on & afterwards a stroll in the beautiful next door shop "Inside" makes the perfect morning. Definitely a favourite & going on my list of recommended places to try in Tasmania.

Visiting from Melbourne...Was looking for a place for morning take away coffee's... walked in and decided to sit. Coffee was superb. Had almond lattes. I can not remember the egg breakfast, was poached on sour dough, dukkah paste... probably best coffee I've had. Perfect food...taste, quality, serving.

Our first place to eat upon arrival to Launceston, we looked up top Cafés Launceston. Waited to be seated as people were still chatting however finished their drinks. The brisket Salad was very nice, full of flavours that all marriaged nicely. The fresh squeezed juice was also refreshing and nice. Waitress was nice and accommodating. I would visit again, thank you.

Was in Launceston for the weekend and stumbled across this cafe. We ordered the Green Bowl and the Inside Benedict and we were amazed at the quality and taste of the food. Both were absolutely delicious. The cafe is is modern and makes the dishes unique to themselves. Definitely an up and coming cafe with amazing flavours, great presentation and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Friendly but slow service, The highlight dishes were the Beef Mussaman Curry, and the Chicken Satay Skewers, which had a really flavorsome peanut sauce! However, I didn’t really rate the Thai Jungle curry which just tasted like Tom Yum broth with chicken and veggies (chicken was really bland) Overall this place was ok, but I definitely wouldn’t rush back to dine here if we were visiting Launceston again.

Forgot our meals . Had to ask "where's our entree" then again" where's our main meal ?" Everyone else got their food on our table , but us. Spring rolls were so tiny. Supermarket ones are nicer and bigger. We felt it was all about takeaways, ... no table service. You need more staff .

By far the worst Thai food I ever had. Didn’t do justice at all for the price they charge. The vegetables and the tofu was watery and the noodles I had was just too bad don’t even know how I can explain it. The cauliflower tasted pretty bad as if it has gone so bad. Staff wasn’t that friendly either. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Wow, eaten Thai food all around Australia and many times across Thailand. This was by far the worst we have ever had... Garlic and pepper stir fry with Prawns that didn't taste of either ingredient letting the watery vegetables steal the show. My wife went inside to see if she could get some fresh chilli to chuck on it to bring it to life but got the cold shoulder from the owner. On her second try got a bottle of chilli powder. What Thai restaurant doesn't have fresh chilli? I had the jungle curry. Same boiled vegetatables steeped in some kind of thin orange speckled soup into which some kind of mild spice and chicken was added. Zero taste. On my way out I asked if they had a Thai chef and was told they did to my amazement. Hard to believe. Beats me how they managed a 4.2 rating.

Fancy Chinese restaurant with excellent service. All the food we ordered was delicious. We will definitely return. The only thing is that the price is slightly high for the size they offered.

Came here last Friday with my wife and we had a great experience, my wife ordered pork and cashews which was really good and I got got the beef brisket and tendon which is the the best I've ever had. The fried custard was excellent but a bit smaller than I've had at other restaurants and the rice portions were small and expensive but that seems to be a common theme with rice in Launceston restaurant's. But the staff were excellent, friendly and efficient so I will be bringing all family here next time.

If you want a traditional Chinese fine dining experience then this is the place. Selections of food and drinks. The only thing they don't do is cocktails. They have vegetarian options as well as vegan options on request but minimal. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Very traditional. Will come again when we are in Launceston.

Attended this fancy establishment with my wife and family, we ordered entrèès and mains after we were greeted by the waitress respectfully. The entrees came out within 5 minutes of ordering fresh and delicious. Not too soon later our mains arrived steaming and had our mouths watering. With such large portions we are left with still plates full of food, plenty to bring home and enjoy throughout the week. We leave a 5 star review with no hesitation and we highly recommend, to bring your first date for a great first impression. We went here last night. Arrived at 5.45PM the restaurant was not very busy. Ordered soups and mains, got the soups. Then a lot of tables came in and the kitchen served them all their entrees and forgot about our mains. At one point a waitress rushed over to our table and said nothing! Just stood there. I said to her, ‘did you forget to place our mains order? We are still waiting for our mains’ but she didn’t say a word to us, she just ran away. A complete lack of communication at this point, we were left guessing what’s happened?? We were catching a flight and decided to not wait for our mains and got up to pay for our soups. We had been there for 1 hour at that point. We were greeted at the front of the restaurant with our mains. I explained that we didn’t have much time and thought they had forgotten about our meals. We were told that they were very busy and I could come out into the kitchen to see how busy they are! We declined the invite to see the kitchen, and decided to stay and eat the mains. Our food was bland, lifeless and oily. Wow, could not believe how tasteless the meals where, extremely disappointing! One of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend this restaurant on service or food. If something has gone wrong with placing an order, at least have a proper conversation with your customers to let them make an informed decision, don’t just run upto the table, say nothing and run away, and expect them to understand what’s going on. Our total was $98…we regret going here.

The workers were very kind and gave us our menus straight away. I got one of the BEST bacon and eggs on bread I’ve ever had. I would seriously recommend for breakfast!

Very slow service (well over half an hour, empty tables, other tables had been served their food and drink) for not very inspiring food. Affogato was good though.

Potentially the best eggs Benedict (with salmon) that I’ve ever had. Coffee was also great. Hollandaise sauce was cafe made not bought. Just beautiful

From the moment we stepped into the premise, to leaving it, the experience has been amazing. Best coffee in Launceston hands down. The mushroom and feta were sublime- I’ve never tasted anything that good before. The corn fritters were delicious. The team were so incredibly friendly and accomodating, and loved that we could talk and hear ourselves because the background music was exactly that- in the background!

Saturday Morning Breakfast -10:15am. Not overly busy. Drinks came relatively quick, ordered an iced chocolate and hot chocolate. Service was not outstanding but good. Waited about 40 minutes from food being ordered to delivered to table. Service and wait time aside the food was great. The eggs Benedict with bacon was about $23, while the same but with Salmon was $27, and definitely less salmon than bacon which was a bit disappointing.

I like to check out local places to eat when travelling. This Cafe was a five minute walk from hotel. Menu is small with good options. Service was excellent given new staff of students. I had the eggs & bacon on toast (no sausage extra available) but go to dish is corn fritters with extra serve of poached eggs.

Not brilliant but still a very good venue for a weekend breakfast. Just 1klm or so from the heart of Launceston it's a refreshing walk especially if you cut through Princess Park. You can sit in or dine out under the shade of some leafy green trees (November). The food, service & prices were all very good to excellent. The ambience is pedestrian but there are a few very old & interesting houses to view across the street.

The people here were lovely. The coffee was nice aswell. The eggs Benedict with bacon was really good. Perfectly poached eggs, the bacon was well cooked and the bread was nicely toasted too. The mushroom toast however was amazing. The goat curd complimented the mushrooms deliciously, and to top it off, the tastiest halloumi I’ve had at a cafe in ages.

I have dined at Grain many times and it never disappoints. The staff are lovely, providing great service, and the food is excellent and creative. On this visit, the menu contained a number of native ingredients (I wondered if this might be a nod to NAIDOC Week). As an Accor Plus member, I received a 50% discount on the food bill for my friend and myself, which was an extra bonus.

Superb! We went here out of ease as we were staying at peppers silo but were pleasantly surprised as how absolutely delicious the food was! Highly recommend, my partner said the gnocchi was the best he has ever had. Both pastas were divine 🤤

We had dinner and breakfast in Grain of the Silos. Both dining experiences were absolutely amazing. First staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. And most importantly the food was delicious. We ordered scotch fillet from western Launceston (steak of the day) and tagliatelle with a half dozen of oysters and grilled octopus as starters for dinner, pancakes and scrambled eggs on sourdough with fried halloumi for breakfast. All items were outstanding and satisfying. I definitely would love to visit again.

Breakfast at the Grain was enjoyable and the service was prompt and friendly. The a-la-carte breakfast menu was quite limited but what it lacks in number it certainly made up for in quality and variety. The pancake that I had was light, fluffy and covered with delicious poached pear, strawberries and nuts…..highly recommended. Also worth noting is the good spread of different hot and cold beverages on offer.

Provides amazing room service to the Pepper Silo Hotel and is a fantastic spot for breakfast or dinner. We celebrated our anniversary here and they went out of their way to make it special and the staff always go above and beyond to ensure your dietary needs are met. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Lovely place indeed. Even if one is up for a short gathering with friends, the service is outstanding and the drinks and food delicious. Had the best turmeric latte on almond I’ve ever had in a long time.

Grain of the Silos left me with mixed feelings. Despite the beautiful hotel setting, the food fell short of expectations. The lobster tagliatelle was marred by unexpected shells, making it less enjoyable. The breakfast, unfortunately, was plain and failed to impress. Overall, a dining experience that didn’t quite live up to the ambiance.

Could not fault anything. Dined here for lunch whilst in Launceston for the day.. and will ensure to dine here again when I return to Tasmania in the near future. The cavatelli beef shin ragu was spectacular. The Apple Strudel was also incredible.

Had a very pleasant meal here last night. The 2 of us shared a couple of starters and a fabulous wagu steak all washed down with a rather pleasant Tassie Pinot Noir

The dining experience was TERRIBLE! The food is expensive and tastes really bad. The quality of the food didn't align with the price. We ordered shrimp pasta and pork chop. The shrimp had an unpleasant smell (like dead fishy smell). The pork chop was OK but tasted old and dry. Overall, I won't recommend anyone here for the particular dishes I tried. I will definitely avoid any dishes with shrimp during this time.

Good location, beautiful place, have been a few times before and customs services are great, we had Zoe today she was very fantastic, but feel unwelcoming from a female manager always at counter. Food always fine, market fish, chips, squid, crayfish rolls, we love it. We like to go to Riverbend park, so silo is a great location.

Overall a mixed bag experience. Standout dishes were the grilled octopus, beef tartare and oysters. The scallops and leaf and pear salad were average. The salad lacked pear, and the scallops were lacking overall flavour. One bottle of sparkling water tasted sweet with a hint of lemon and when we questioned it our waitress she stated the bottle that they fill with sparklking water may have not been washed properly or had some residue from another drink. That’s not right. Service from our waitress was great, she was attentive, but the matre d Sunil was rushing us to finish by 8:45 (for an 8pm booking) albeit customers were arriving to dine and 9pm. He then apologised for the mixup but nonetheless felt like we had to rush and eat and leave although booking were coming at 9pm. We would have ordered more but didn’t want to spend anymore after the experience. Overall 2.5/5

Very surprised at how good this place was, given I’m usually wary of hotel restaurants. But the location, food and service were all great. We loved everything we ordered and the staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely view and great atmosphere. Highly recommend the octopus - it was delicious!

Nice restaurant to dine in with good customer service. Huge wine menu but not that many choice with food. Food was good but it could of be better to match the price. The dessert was yummy. The peach slice looks just amazing. The tiny purple flower taste bitter by itself but it goes well with the honey & gives an unique after taste. The sponge cake underneath taste like bananna cake even though it wasn't. Hazelnuts with dark chocolate with creamtoasted meringue is the best. It is an interesting combination and does not overpowering one another. Brambleberry sorbet is YuMmmm !!!Would just go there to have that again.

It's our 4th time dining at Silos. Never been ever dissapointed. Food, staff and atmosphere were all perfect! Wide range drinks selection.

Was in town and grabbed a few burgers for lunch. Burgers were tasty and reasonably sized. On the saucier side for a burger so may not be for everyone! Luckily I like my burgers saucy so enjoyed mine. Although tasty the burgers aren't a stand out. The chips were delicious and cooked & seasoned well. Very popular spot so get in early. Food comes quickly though so didn't have to wait long.

Great no fuss vegan burger. Add pineapple and onion rings for a great combo complimented by the V2 patty.

Great ambiance, service, and atmosphere. Ordered the Canadian burger and the Diablo. The Diablo was really spicy with the jalapeños and spicy sauce but was good overall. The Canadian burger (I ordered this without bacon and added a fried egg, sunny side up) was good as well. Unfortunately it wasn't very tasty. The egg yolk helped a lot I think, but even with the maple glaze the flavor of the burger just wasn't there. Other than that, the beers on tap and in cans were great!

Highly recommended! This place has amazing poutine and burgers that I had to come back a second time during my short stay in Launceston. The service is excellent too - efficient, friendly and with a smile. Thanks for a great experience. 🙂

Can't recommend this place enough! All the food was fantastic but the Americana burger I had was one of the best ever. Just a perfect mixture of meat, toppings and bun. I love a smash burger and this did not disappoint. They also for great gluten free buns for a few bucks extra. The staff were also super friendly and passionate about the food. I will absolutely return if in the area and would recommend anyone who loves burger to go!

Absolutely famished by the time I came in, I ordered the Vegan Cheeseburger. I misunderstood the $2 Onion Rings charge as I assumed that the $17 price for the burger included a side of fries, and so I was paying an extra $2 for the fries to be replaced with onion rings instead. I also changed up from vegan cheese to regular cheese (and was again charged the extra $1 for it...wouldn't vegan cheese have been more expensive anyway?) and ordered a Dr Pepper to treat myself during the festive season 🎄 The burger itself was really good! The patty was cooked perfectly with the quantity of lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and sauces spot on. The onion rings were absolutely amazing, and although it was $10 for the side, they were well worth the spend. A little dear at $34 for a meal (this review may have lost a star) I later scanned the QR code only to see that adding a Coke and fries may have saved me over $10 however had I not paid for and received those onion rings, the meal would perhaps not have been as enjoyable as it eventually was! And to replace a Dr Pepper with a Coke?......plllllease!! I'd hate to drop a star for criticism, and so would encourage management to brief patrons with bundles (Coke and fries) when ordering at the counter. Can't wait to head back for another!

This is a fabulous burger joint! We drove into Launceston hungry and discovered this gem of a place and their food did not disappoint. The ATMOSPHERE is cool, hip with plenty of tables, a long wooden bar top and a very modern mural on the wall. The place was spotless! We saw staff wiping down tables numerous times, and very quickly right after people left to accommodate the next customers. The STAFF, was genuinely friendly. They seem to enjoy a good chat and were very knowledgeable about their menu, and showed the genuine interest in their restaurant and their customers experience. The FOOD, we were starving when we arrived and so glad that we were. Give us an opportunity to try several different items off the menu. We ordered two Americana and they came out just as we ordered them. Also tried one of their signature hot dogs, a large order of french fries and seriously one of the best order of onion rings I have ever had. The LOCATION, the restaurant is in the city so if you drive in you need to be prepared to pay for street parking. Which is easy enough to find and not that expensive. The restaurant is also close to the shopping precinct, so making a day of downtown and parking once is easy done. All in all, a lucky find. We will be back and think you should check it out!!

Friendly service and decent pricing but a bit of a wait during peak hour. Vegan burger was average and fries were average. But the onions rings are killer and the Mega Mac sauce was delicious.

This place freakin rules. Staff so cool you'd invite them home for Xmas. Even the vegan cheeseburger is good. Recipes we wished would stay on the menu forever: • Texas dry rub wings • Sri Lankan curry loaded fries • Mi Goreng nuggets (or wings?) We wished they had: • some non-dairy options (milkshakes and Ben & Jerry's flavours especially, please!) • some kind of salad and/or slaw side option (I know, sorry) • Pinot noir and/or Shiraz • Please swap out the down lights for something less bright and white - they're seriously intense. We ordered delivery, it arrived right on time and the food did not disappoint. I had the Dirty Double burger, it was juicy and full flavoured. One of the best burgers I’ve had. The other burgers were Americana and a Buffalo Chicken, all burgers were delicious. We shared onion rings and chips which were also cooked perfectly.

Fantastic place for a hearty, tasty and no-nonsense burger. And it is made better with their Wednesday 50c wings !!! We ordered 30 wings with a KFC burger(Korean Fried Chicken Burger) and a real full pint of hazy IPA. Delicious!!! Do book in, or you might have to wait for a table.

Wow What an amazing addition to my burger collection. Even though burgers here down under have been really disappointing, this one amazing place is a gem! Absolutely must eat and truly recommended. Absolutely delicious burger. Got the buffalo fried chicken burger with fries. Was amazing! Chips were also delicious, crunchy on the outside, fluffy inside and the perfect amount of seasoning. The burger was juicy with the perfect amount of crunch from the fried chicken. Not too much sauce either. Could have done with a slightly more toasted bun or perhaps not as soft as it started to go soggy before I'd finished. But the taste was still good. This is the 2nd time I've eaten here when travelling through Launceston.

we were here on the hottest day in Tasmania, 31 centigrade, so perhaps that is why my Hellfire Amber ale was so good :) very decent and well priced burgers too, the only negative was a cold bun straight from the fridge, it definitely needs to stay on the grill longer

Trendy busy atmosphere. Spacious, comfortable cushioned seating. Fast service and friendly attentive staff. My favourite here are the hotdogs! Weekend is very busy so recommended to book.

If you’re after a quick, cheap, average-tasting takeaway pasta meal, by all means try The Pasta Merchant. If you want something you’d find in a ‘fine dining’ establishment, this is not the place for you. Based on other reviews, I think we were just unlucky on the night. The garlic bread was very ordinary, and the chicken and mushroom pasta had little chicken and almost no mushroom. That said, the order was completed quickly, it tasted fine, and it filled our bellies. We shall try again.

What a treat!!! We were looking to get some gelato and ended up here.... Fantastic gelato.... Hazelnut and mint was my fav combo.... The staff were so friendly... The the serving was almost the size of a meal 🤣😋... Fantastic....

Highly recommend their pasta dishes. Our pesto chicken spaghetti, and spaghetti bolognaise are delicious. We really enjoyed their fresh pasta. We also enjoyed the coconut/chocolate gelato. We enjoyed sitting in their outdoor tables, but there are a number of tables inside. Thanks team for a wonderful dinner.

I read the reviews for this place and decided to give it a shot despite some reviews condemning that they reheat the pasta and sauce. The picture of the chicken pesto looked so good! Happy to report that it was as tasty as I expected it to be! Creamy savoury and the spaghetti had a nice chew to it. They heat it through so it is piping hot and you don’t need to worry about cold spots! The desserts and ice cream looked great, would love to try another day. Free street parking outside the store after 6pm! My partner had the marinara fettuccine in tomato sauce, it was a little bit more bland and the pasta had not been tossed through the sauce before reheating, like the chicken pesto was. For this reason, it felt like there wasn’t enough sauce. The fettuccine however was so silky and smooth! I can only imagine how much more delicious it would be if we had the facilities to cook our own pasta. We also shared a chicken lasagne which was nice and crispy on the edges and soft and silky in the centre. Delicious too! I will add that if you’re an adult deciding between the small and large, to go for the large! You can’t get enough of this pasta, and also the small was quite a bit smaller than I expected. It’s a shallow round container, compared to the deeper round containers you might get takeaway soup in :) All in all, this place deserves more credit and I would definitely recommend it😀 a tasty, comforting and affordable take away spot for tourists like myself stopping through the city :)

Walked down from my hotel to grab a meal to bring back. Saw this pasta place and figured nice hot pasta for dinner excellent! Ordered the pasta with roast chicken. Watched as a small container of chicken and mushrooms was taken out of the fridge along with a container of pasta, both containers slapped together and chucked in the microwave. Got to my hotel room (5 minute walk away) Started eating my pasta and found it Luke warm with about 6 pieces of chicken and a few pieces of chopped up mushroom in it. Pasta was bland once I got past the chunks of parmesan cheese. Oh well I guess for $7.70 you get what you pay for.

Our favourite place for pasta in Launceston, We have been going here for over 20 years and have always had a fantastic meal, family favourite is the gnocchi! Very reasonable for family takeaways as well ! Thanks guys

Quaint little eatery that has tasty food and excellent service. They also sell fresh pasta! We had garlic bread to start with which was more of a crisp bread- I couldn’t taste much garlic in it but it was tasty anyways, so I was happy. We had the ravioli and the gnocchi. The ravioli was off the menu but the gnocchi was customised. Both were v tasty with simple flavours. We shared a gelato for dessert which was average. There is only seating at 3 tables with an extra few seats at the bar table. Service was fantastic. I would definitely go back and try some of the other dishes. Vegetarian friendly and very helpful service for people with allergies. And the price was so good!

Visited for an early lunch today. The pasta with chicken and a mushroom cream sauce was lovely. And I really enjoyed a cone of the 'smarty pants' gelato afterwards too. Staff are friendly and efficient, and I felt the menu prices very reasonable. I'll certainly return again for either dining in, or take away. Street parking only in this busy section of Charles St. No rest room on site.

Cozy and cute cafe, we ordered a periperi chicken wrap and a chicken toastie. Food were fresh and nice. I recommend sitting at the corner with the sofa as it was so comfy and the scenery from the window is a park (if you’re lucky there’s no car parking to block your view ;) )

Very ordinary - quite apart from not putting ham on the ham and cheese croissant and forgetting to make one meal entirely, the attitude and service was deplorable. They are listed in the entertainment book but would not honour the listing. So all in all a very forgettable experience.

Quaint LITTLE Cafe, absolutely awesome handpainted artwork adorning the walls, painted by female staff member who works out the back, and is apparently an ex-Circus Flame Thrower, tell you what, her artwork is hot Hot HOT! 🔥 Such bright colours, imagination, creativity, thought, skill, talent and time has obviously gone into these beautiful works of art (paintings). Loved the ceiling 😀 and stained glass at top of Street view windows. Very small, busy, I would say thriving little Cafe. Apparently their Chicken & Leek Frittatas are absolutely amazing, and hefty sized great looking Caesar Salad delicious also. The Frittatas and Mini (muffin sized) Quiche were $14.00 each (alone, with no side salad), nice looking foccacias $12.00 each. Latte & Soy Latte were both of extremely good quality, strong, tasteful cuppas. Would call again, will be trying their huge Caesar Salad next time, at only $16.50! The menu had a couple of lesser prices on it, than current prices. Specials board behind the counter. Also offering healthy, tasty and beautifully presented smoothies. Simple, FREE and easy angle parking adjacent to St Georges Square, alternatively 15 minute kerbside parking right outside the door! Convenient location, easy to stop and grab a cuppa on your way to work or wherever. Phone box across the Street. Outside dining options, lovely frontage, prime location, easily accessible to all. A wonderful park across the street (St Georges Square), and also a great playground just over High Street, a simple, pleasant short walk away. Highly recommend, even just for a drink and to view the wonderful artwork by the extremely talented employee!

Unsure if there is a new management or a new chef but the food has taken a turn for the worst. Over $20 for smashed avocado and received one soggy piece of toast with rock hard poached eggs and no cherry tomatoes or herbs as advertised on the menu. Received one tiny piece of bacon for an extra charge of $3.50. Have eaten here previously and the meals have been tasty and large but this time was a big disappointment. Also waited over 40 mins for the meal. Won't be returning for meals here anytime soon.

Charming little café, can pretend I'm in Paris while drinking my coffee with cream, eating the perfect croissant and listening to French inspired music. And the pooch is welcome. Beautiful friendly service.

Good service, nice music and atmosphere. Nachos were pretty good, 7/10. The hot chocolate was a 7/10. However, the spinach and ricotta cheese panada was a 3/10. The filling of the empanada was more like one of those dips who buy at woollies. Overall, decent food for its price.

📝 Cute, cozy place for good Latin American food and friendly, pleasant service in Launceston. 🍴 We tried a quesadilla and a burrito. Both were tasty although the burrito had a little bit too much lettuce for me. Loved all the different chili sauces. The one minor issue is we asked the burrito to come with no onions and there were plenty inside. 📍 The atmosphere was very chilled. Most tables were inside with only 2 tables outside. It lies next to a park where you can leave your car, which is pretty practical if you need to drive there.

Vibe tick, simple good Mexican food tick, special hot sauce and guy with a flame hat speaking Spanish to the chef. It’s a yes from me, 5 stars

i work near this place and go in to get lunch there pretty often, it’s such a cute little space and the service is always amazing, everyone who works there is super friendly and genuine, food is really good! my go to is a burrito, very reasonably priced too! also love their selection of soft drinks in the fridge, dr pepper, cherry coke, stuff you can’t get from most other places

A little beautiful restaurant with excellent customer service and authentic Latin American food. Our favorite dishes were arepas and empanadas. They tasted amazing. However, it was a little bit priced.

Would 100% go back and recommend. The service is friendly and the food options are great including a vegan menu. Had the corn turn over aka empanada which was different to other empanadas I've had but still hit the spot.

The service was good. The food was fine. They have nice details which means they care a lot about the customer and want them to be happy. Also, Tinka Coffee Brewers has some monotone art pieces hanged up (I think for sale). The only thing that got me confused is their menu. It mentions V beside a dish name with an optional V. The client needs to read the ingredients carefully if they are vegan or vegetarian or in my case (halal) 😀

Excellent establishment nestled in the heart of Launceston. Service was top notch and food was beautifully presented and very flavourful. We were very comfortable sitting in there for a couple of hours. Worth popping in for a coffee or breakfast! Definitely a good place to have a good time.

Best of Launceston! I came with my family for Good Friday breakfast. Amazing they were open on a public holiday. The staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming. I never want to be that awkward customer but I felt that way after my 2yr old really wanted scrambled eggs and chef couldn't do on a wknd. But together we sorted a replacement and the girl serving was amazing about it. The coffee was the best I've had in Launceston, and I've had a lot! The breakfast was delicious, I had shakshuka which was beautiful and my wife had turkish eggs. We highly recommend Tinka! Thank you!

Came by this gem as I was staying nearby. From the get go the service was impeccable. Friendly, efficient and professional. Ordered a latte and cappuccino to start with baked eggs and salmon eggs benedict for brekkie. Coffee was soo good! As good as the best in Melbourne. Had to order a short macchiato because it was so good and glad I did as it was fantastic! Food was great as well with my better half declaring the eggs benedict the best shes had in a while. So glad I found Tinka and I only wish I found you sooner! Will be back for sure when we are next in Laurnie. Thanks you for providing a great start to the day!

Enjoyed a really good breakfast on a Sunday morning. Excellent coffee and delicious food. You order and pay online with your phone after scanning the QR code on your table. Some may like that, but for me it's a bit tedious. When we arrived there were a few tables but it quickly filled.

Tinka Coffee Brewers is an absolute gem in Launceston! I can’t say enough good things about this place. The service was top-notch, and the staff, especially the friendly girls, made us feel right at home. But let’s talk about the coffee – it was nothing short of sensational! I’m a coffee lover, and I was blown away by the rich flavors and perfect brew every time we visited. In fact, we couldn’t resist going back three times in just four days. And it’s not just about the coffee – their meals were a whole new level of deliciousness. The quality and presentation were outstanding. Each dish felt like a work of art on a plate. If you’re in Launceston, Tinka Coffee Brewers is a must-visit. Highly recommended! Kudos to this place for making our trip memorable with their fantastic food and coffee. Food was absolutely delicious!! They made their pesto and had so many GF, VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN options. Dog friendly outside with a cute little water bowl. Open 7 days a week. Such friendly staff and use unused water in jugs from tables to water their plants!! Atmosphere was beautiful, wood, metal and lots of hanging plants. Such an eco-friendly vibe. 🪴

One of my favorite sushi , I love the tempura products, but I don't recommend the Vietnamese spring rolls. There is also a small disadvantage that there is too much rice in suchi ^_^and the closing time is too early, every time I want to go after work, but it is closed. Just visit Again， sushi still as good as how it was. but the hot snack was really disappointed. the mushroom i can only taste the taste of the oil. it make me feel sick-_-. the vege croquette and the squid stick is taste like full of flour. The oysters is taste really fishly. Donot recommend.

Love their authentic food

Sushi Plus is a delightful find in Launceston. The sushi rice is perfectly made...so many other places do not get the rice right. The multiple colourful choices of delicious Japanese food are like entering a Jewish bakery and seeing a picture of many colours. The effort to create such variety is not something you see in other Japanese restaurants. The flavours of all the many choices available are fresh and superb. The owner loves her customers and her business and it shows. The staff are always professional and service is spot on. We visit there often for eat in and take away. I wish there were more eat in facilities. In nicer weather there are street tables always full of people enjoying this great food. There are choices of healthy smoothies and cleansing drinks. We always feel better having such healthy food and are dedicated customers to Sushi Plus. Great value, excellent food and low cost for the quality of food and service.

Got 2 donburi/rice bowls (chicken katsu and vege tempura), both were drowning in sauce/mayo/soy. Chicken was gristly/chewy. There is some outdoor seating and service was OK. Won't be going back.

Had the Korean chicken and fresh salmon avocado sushi rolls - they were terrible! We threw ours out after a few bites and bought a sandwich from bread+butter instead. Definitely avoid!

14$ bought me two nori rolls and a drink. The noris rolls had completely the wrong rice texture (mushy almost) and tasted heavily of vinegar. The meat was tough especially the chicken and there was some brown avocado in one of them. The place was packed so they must be good at something but the expensive nori rolls (almost 5$ each) were some of the worst I’ve ever eaten. Supermarket ones are better.

Nice vibe to this inner city bar. The barstaff were friendly and food came out at a reasonable time. The beef wellington burger was interesting. Quite tasty. The octopus taco was okay and the fish burger was good! Good selection of craft beers too

This place is a hidden gem for food and a great space to chill out in. Looks small from the front but huge inside. Food was incredible, chicken wings were some of the best I have ever tried and fried halloumi was a stand out too. Definitely go here!

Amazing place. We stopped by just for a beer right after landing in Launceston and spent the whole evening. Beer is great, food is excellent, staff is extremely lovely, and the local patrons are the best. Long time I haven’t been in a place where everything was perfect. Can’t wait to be back!

Bummer ! Last time we had lunch here, ordered the pork belly tacos and they were so good. I came to Launceston for my bday wknd and wanted those great tacos. Well, I ordered 2 pork belly tacos & 1 baby corn. 30 minutes later, my food came out cold . I asked staff if they could please re-do my meal. 30 seconds later, (microwave?) tacos came out like mush. Last time you could actually tell the pork was chunks of meat ! This time couldnt even distinquish what was meat or ? No. I didnt get to eat. Drag is I thought I found a good place to eat & it was so bad & traveled two hrs for my bday ! Live & learn. Moving here from the US, thought I found a good place. Nope.

I recently visited 'Lonnie' from Melbourne. Saint John's is a really nice venue. It has a very funky feel without being pretentious. The staff were great and the local pale ale beers that we tried were excellent. The menu is not extensive but the burgers that we had were excellent as were the fries ..... l went with local friends, and l would have loved to have settled in for longer.... but l had a plane to catch. A perfectly chilled bar.

An amazing selection of beverages and a fabulous atmosphere. We grabbed a few snacks as we'd eaten earlier in the day but it was good food. Bonus was they have a Caroline Reaper sauce yumo.

My husband arrived in Lonnie late due to travel issues and St John’s was the only place in town still serving food. We went in without expectations but we’re blown away! The cheeseburger and beef Wellington burger were excellent. The chips were cooked fresh and were crisp. The beers were refreshing after a very long travel day. The staff was nice. I will definitely be back!

They serve a variety of really good vegan food. The black eyed pea salad was nice and refreshing and the added eggplant fit well with it. The vegan burger is also surprisingly good, especially if you are into bean patties. The vegan cheese they use for their burger is a highlight. My favourite food was the banana blossom taco. Never had anything like it before.

Friendly, very pleasant staff. Pleasant atmosphere. The fish & chips were reasonably good, crumbed prawns were tasty and juicy. A bit pricey though.

What's better than sitting at river side and having fish and chips with oyster and white wine? The batter are nicely prepared. Tasmanian Oysters are no doubt beautiful. Simple is the best!

We were there on opening, the food, flake battered fish, crumb scallops and chips were A1. Cooked in fresh oil, not greasy or tasted of other food made all crispy and full of their own taste - genuine. Beer not a large variety however Boags Draught was cold and most enjoyable. Staff all had smiles and a happy face. Cost was reasonable.

I understand the view but really this is just a fish a chip shop not a fancy restaurant as the owners reply has specified so not sure how you can justify charging so much. Most seafood meals come with chips or salad but you have to pay extra for all this. How can you charge $15 for 6 crumbed prawns that looked frozen and were so tough that you could not eat. $9.50 for a small side of swwet potato fries?? Owners reply was we received 500g which is half a kilo ?? No it was a small serving Also this place does not offer tap water you have to pay for a bottle of water, which I dont understand when you are charging customers so much considering you do offer table service and sell alcohol. $32.50 for the Grilled Salmon that tasted microwaved, no flavour. I was told this place was once great but has gone down hill, will not be back The owners reply was we also complained about cigarette smoke from other restaurants which was incorrect, there is a cigarette bin directly opposite your outdoor eating area. I understand the reply regarding the owner trying to survive, but instead of arguing back to customers feedback you should try to improve your services to what they were a few months ago. People are happy to pay more but the food needs to be up to standards as well. Hope you listen to other peoples feedback so your place does not suffer

The food is delicious and fresh. The restaurant has a stunning outdoor outlook. There is a parking fee in the lot. But the good thing is that you can use the same parking invoice that you have purchased at Cataract Gorge Reserve.

Having read a number of reviews for Reel, I wasn't sure I wanted to risk trying the gummy meal but I needn't have worried. The food was wrapped nicely in a way that would avoid it sweating too much. The chips were chunky and cooked crispy as we like them and the seasoning on them was divine. The gummy fillets were thick and juicy and the batter was thick but not heavy and definitely not greasy. My first order was amazing and couldn't be faulted and resulted in my writing a 5 star review. Unfortunately the meals that followed were nothing short of disappointing. My most recent order was the "Reel Net". This promised 3 pieces of fish and chips for $26 so I figured that despite their portions not being large it would still be worth the money. I was wrong. 3 tiny pieces of fish - one the size of a fish finger, the other two twice that. Because I don't like to leave bad reviews for local businesses I contacted them through their Facebook page. They apologized for the dismal fish portions and blamed it on the supplier. This was pretty poor form and I told them that their response was as disappointing as their portion sizes. It's a shame because the food was really hot, fresh and tasty and had the sizes been adequate I'd be giving them a five star review right now. However money is tight for many right now and I believe people have the right to know what they can expect so I'll add photos to this review. I would recommend the Reel Net meal of you're feeding a couple of young children and I'd recommend Reel Fish n Chips to you if money is no object.

I would like to commend one of the staff members (Megan) for her excellent customer service. She was very friendly and interactive, and she went out of her way to help me find the perfect ice cream flavor. I was ordering ice cream, but she suggested that I taste it first. I tasted four or five different types of ice cream, and she was never bothered by it. She was always smiling and helpful, and she made my experience at this place very enjoyable. I really appreciate her excellent customer service, and I will definitely be back again soon.

Battered Tasmanian flake is hard to beat and the portion I had here was as good as it gets- fresh, nice size, delicious batter and perfectly cooked. Complemented by the bright friendly service and delicious Tasmanian wine by the glass. Great outlook and location on the marina walk!

One of the best fish and chips experiences ever. You will not be disappointed. Great food and the location by the river. Also has walks available from nearby, so great combination.

Honestly, hands down the Fish and chips Reel produces is fantastic.The fish melts in your mouth whether it's battered, crumbed or grilled. That beer batter stands to attention every single time, crispy and not oily. Absolutely delicious. Do not even get me started on the chips, perfection 🤤 The seasoning and sauces are all made there. Everything is so fresh. You pay for what you get and this is well worth it every single time.

Worst fish and chips I've had in a very long time. Portions are tiny. Fish was mostly batter, calamari rings worse than the stuff out of Woolies/coles. In their defence, the prawns were ok. I've attached a photo of the $8.50 fish and chips I got at Launceston general hospital cafeteria to provide an example of what an actual reasonable fish and chip meal should look like. It also tasted a lot better. I suppose this is more of a testament to how good the chefs were at LGH. Then again, I should not be having to compare hospital food to restaurant food... You can argue most of the almost $30 for that fish and chip meal went to the 'atmosphere' and 'view' but I would not rate a few boats and views of the local park as something to brag about.

Truly crispy and chipy felt like delightful experience I had with these guys. They really know there fish and chips and most certainly there amazing batters. I would certainly recommend beer battered fish with crispy chunky chips with lemon and tartar sauce.

I ordered the $14.50 flake and chips takeaway. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. I thought it was great value for money considering the location and large portion size. The young gentleman on the front counter was very helpful and friendly, too.

Lovely location and atmosphere, but the coffee and food were average. $5 for a single espresso, served in a giant take away cup rather than a proper cup, could be acceptable if the coffee is good. The coffee, however, was not good. Service was also average, but not in a ‘I’m a hipster barista and will judge you’ way, but a ‘I’m not interested in serving you and don’t want to be here’ kind of way.

We love to grab a coffee here and take it to the park across the road when it is sunny or sit in the atrium when it is cooler. The do a very good breaky wrap as well as delicious cakes and slices.

Steaks were good but overcooked. We ordered medium cooked eye fillet but came up with medium-well level. The staff are busy. We got seated at 6:30 pm and we only got our steak at 7:45 pm. It was a long waiting time, but the quality of steaks was great. The price is reasonable, and the decoration of the house fitted with their theme (jailhouse). The description of the large cut lamb is a bonus in the menu. I would recommend to reserve dinning spots a week in advance.

This restaurant is probably the most famous here. Decided to come over on the spot to try out steak and was way more than expected: _The steak is delicious and value for money, which you’ll probably found in many others. _The oysters were very fresh, yet they’re at a really good price (39/dozen). _The cheese platter was a delicate. The cheese, the walnuts, the apricot jams, all were very fresh and original! _The waitresses were very helpful. My friend didn’t finish her plate, and they offered takeaway box right away before we asked. The only thing is that it’d be better if the waitresses can remember the procedures well. One told me that no surcharge on card, but then paying adds 45 cents to the bill. But the goodness makes up for that. Definitely a highlight and would come again!

Bring an appetite. The sides bar section are delicious! Scotch Fillet 300g ( Medium-Rare ) was very much enjoyed. Seafood topper, to make it that much more enjoyable!!! The potatoes were golden. A delightful crunch, soft and steamy.

If I could give 10 stars I 100% would! Came here last night with my husband and 3 children and was absolutely perfect! Kids were immediately gifted little colouring activity packs and for once we actually got to sit and enjoy and EAT a whole meal without anything from the little ones. They didn't make a peep and Loved their activity packs and me and the hubby had the absolute best steak & calamari of our lives! I really enjoyed being able to go down and pick out my own sides being a little person I NEVER order anything out of my normal as I don't eat much but being able to have a little try of everything they made was amazing and I didn't want my meal to end! Thank you to all the staff for an amazing dinner, food and customer service was above and beyond! 💖 I just cannot wait to come back again! ❤️

Love the steak here but I love veggies so the all you can eat salad bar was a win for me! Steak was good, sauce was yum, roast potatoes were roasted to perfection. But for me, the win was the Asian sesame cold noodle and veggie salad. Just. So. Good!

Came to Jailhouse Grill for tea on Sunday night 21st Jan. What a great pub! Very busy! We didn't make a booking as we were only passing through Launceston. We had the first sitting at the table, which gave us 1.15 minutes before the table was booked. We had all finished and had a couple of beers in that time. No problems at all. The 3 of us really enjoyed our meals. Cooked to perfection! Help yourself salad bar. Salad were fantastic! Then young lady that serviced us was very nice, in fact all staff was wonderful!!

Had a good experience here. We decided to have lunch at a restaurant suddenly (Without prior decision) and chose Jailhouse Grill. Although we haven’t booked and the place was pretty busy for a Monday lunch, they sorted us a table. The service was totally friendly and great. The salad buffet had a great selection of veggies, pasta, cheese and etc. which was awesome. Pot Pie was nice and the steak was as expected, soft and delicious, however I like to have potato mash instead of oven-roasted ones. I like to come back to taste the other items on the menu.

Friendly staff with great service. Food was delicious & we were so full afterwards. Loved that the eye fillet was actually rare upon request, not overcooked. Fun atmosphere.

Great Scotch Fillet. I deliberately didn’t order any additional sauce to go with it in order to appreciate the original taste. It didn’t disappoint me. Flavourful, tender & cooked to perfection. The salad bar was a pleasant addition to the mains. Not many varieties but every cooked dish in the bar tasted deliciously good. Could come here just for the salad bar! The hot mud cake with ice cream and fresh cream was by far the best mud cake I’ve had.

Spent 2 nights at Launceston and went here for 2 nights as well. Our first visit is so good we made it sure to go back right away. The food is amazing (even the salad bar). The service is impeccable!

On holiday from Melbourne, decided to treat ourselves to a steak restaurant. I chose a small eye fillet with pepper sauce. It came out fairly quick. Absolutely cooked to perfection. I ordered it well done but it was still so tender and tasty. They also have a serve yourself salad bar. This was fantastic too. Great variety of salads. Couple of warm ones too. All very fresh and tasty. Our waitress was friendly and asked a couple of times if everything was to our liking. Would definitely recommend anyone wanting a nice, well cooked steak to try here.

Most of the restaurants in Launceston will close on 8:30pm, Jail house is exceptionally close on 9:30pm, it saved our life as we arrived Launceston on 8pm. …….. most of the restaurant….almost closed 😅 Salmon 👍 Fried calamari 👍 Steak …….soso 😉we have higher expectations, because they have a nice grill stove. Salad bar available, fresh and plenty of choices. Good service 😍

Two of us came to this restaurant at 19:30 but It was really busy so we would come back in 45 minutes.we ordered Eye fillet with creamy mushroom sauce and New York cut with garlic sauce.both are medium rare. young nice lady served them in 40 minutes but we was enjoying salada bar till it came so it's totally no problem.and we got the steak from 300g to 400g free of charge! cooked toperfection. the service was so nice. I'll be back again!

Great service. Would recommend booking to make sure you get a table. The salad bar was great, loved the range of different types of salad available and they tasted great. Steak was cooked perfectly. A bit pricey but the quality matches the price. Dessert was superb. Would definitely recommend!

Sunday early dinner. Seems fully booked and staffs and kitchen were busy. A little bit of waiting before the eye fillets and garlic prawns were served. Perfectly cooked medium eye fillet. Small(200g), medium(300g) and large(400g) cuts. Recommend to order a large cut for a male adult. Garlic prawns (2 skewers) were OK, but I wouldn't order next time. Free salad bar for each main order. Fresh salads, cooked veggies, lots of sauces, everyone loved it.

Have stayed in Lauceston for just over a week and have come here twice....the food is excellent....so good...the steaks are the best we've ever had and those roast potatoes...omg, salad bar as well. The staff are friendly and the atmosohere is easy going. Only wish that we had this restaurant where we live, would be our favourite

Had the most delicious duck, sourced locally from Strelleyfield, cooked and served beautifully! Staff are so kind and accomodating, especially with my 8month old. The Lemon spritz is a must too! Had a spectacular view of the sunsetting at the mouth of The Gorge. Was definitely a treat!!

What incredible service. We enjoyed a light lunch here after a hike through the cataract gorge. We had such a lovely time, thanks to the host, we came back for dinner. The staff are legendary. The food is second to none. The drinks, we’ll try their special blackberry spiritz and find out for yourself. Thank you for a wonderful experience team.

Absolutely delicious crab risotto and broccolini. Probably the best dishes I had whilst on a tour of Tasmania. The pasta mussels was good but overshadowed. My partner also loved the complimentary bread!

Enjoyable afternoon sitting watching the outside world drift lazily by. The food is good. It’s not trying to be anything too bold but the flavours are balanced. Started with the ocean trout and it was served in a milky ponzu sauce that complimented the soft silky trout perfectly. The lamb was rich and I could say bordering on a tad too much, I could have done with 1/2 a slice less and still been left totally satisfied. But super delicious and the turnips helped to cut through the richness. It was an enjoyable couple of hours, the sun was shining and the weather was perfect. Such a nice way to spend a few winter hours.

Recently visited (sat lunch) and even though it was very quiet, the seafood was extremely fresh. Portion sizes are relatively small and prices are definitely on the high side even compared to Melbourne. Taste was above average but not extremely interesting. I guess the main thing was that it was fresh. Perhaps consider slightly larger serving sizes...

Fantastic family dinner! Amazing flavours. We were surprised at how many mixed reviews this place had. As the wait staff were exceptional went above and beyond, the food was fresh, hot and local. The oysters were decadent and the whole snapper was brilliant but the star of the night was dessert a lemongrass pannacotta with candied chilli and star anise quince and sesame twill it was absolutely incredible shame this place will be closing down soon ~ get in before it’s too late

We stopped in on a day trip to Launceston and were so happy we did. The food was incredible and so were the friendly staff. There were delicious vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten free options - forgive the photo, I had sunscreen on my lens - you'll just have to trust me it was amazing and try it for yourself. I wish we were staying longer so we could come back!

The food was super super tasty. I don’t eat risotto very often but this is one of the best I’ve had. The market fish sashimi is definitely the best I’ve ever had. Oysters are not the biggest size but are really fresh. Highly recommended!

First visit there in Feb 22, lunch was okay but didn’t quite buy into how great it was. Latest lunch there, we got it. Very very good lunch. Good portion sizes, interesting dishes to choose from as a non vegetarian. Though if you are vegetarian you’re pretty much limited to one option on the set menu for each course. Kids menu is pretty normal, you’d find it anywhere in oz Nice option for wine by the carafe as well.

The restaurant is stunning and views of this place are amazing. We did the 2 course option with entree and main and both courses were generous size and delicious. Wines were good but definitely not the best we tried while in Tassie

Welcomed to an extremely beautiful location by lovely staff ready to great you with a smile and help you with anything you need. Wine tastings, alfresco bar area with delicious cocktails featuring Josef Chromy wines. Followed by an open, gorgeous dining room with incredible local produce, treated meticulously. Seasoned and plated beautifully. A beautiful relaxing moment full of lasting memories.

Just visited the winery today. I've never had such a comfortable wine tasting session! It's totally well worth $15 and the effort to make the booking. Sandy(the lady who served us) is very knowledgeable and very willing to share and introduce wine that she thinks we will like based on our drinking preference. She made us feel at home. The surroundings around the winery are also beautiful and offer lots of opportunities for nice photos. It's a must go place if you are in Launceston! Will definitely come again for my next trip :)

Came to this hyperadvertised winery, seeing its advertisement in the plane, at the airport, TV, review and even Google Maps and see what the hype is. And also needing a place to chill after a trip up the Ben Lomond. Well managed gardens, but the outdoor seatings need some refurbishing and bird drops all over the furniture needs cleaning. Inside, a rather small area but posh and well presented. Friendly and attentive staffs deserve commendation. I had the flights of pinot noir tasting for $15. Sat outside with a piece of tasting paper on the flight of pinot noir. The Sally field blend was well balanced and the 2021 Josef Chromy Pinot Noir is bursting of juicy Berry palate, very enjoyable. Ended it with a glass of Chardonnay, crisp, buttery, lemony with a long finish. Great wine but a better outdoor furniture upkeep with some of their advertising funds makes better sense. *edit, unfortunately downgrading the service from the experience I had at the Tasmania Wine Fair. Was totally ignored by the Polish lady (while being served for a tasting), chatting across with another person while I stand like a total idiot waiting for another wine to be served. It's unprofessional and humiliating.

Josef Chromy Wines is on my top 5 best places to eat! No words can describe how delicious the food was. We had a 2005 Vintage Chardonnay, which complimented our food perfectly. 20min from the airport, I know where I'm going when I come back to Launceston.

A beautiful lunch but the most stunning experience was the wine tasting. Our group of 5 were looked after by Sandy, the Cellar Door manager. Sandy elevated our experience beyond all expectations, accommodating our requests and delivering a most professional, thorough and passionate explanation of each wine. You could sense her genuine love and passion for the vino. Ten out of ten. Thank you Sandy and the Josef Chromy team.

A must for anyone travelling to Launceston! Amazing food and nice wine to complement. Each dish bursts with flavour, allowing you to enjoy the great atmosphere and stunning views across the estate. We finished lunch outside with a cheese board overlooking the lake.

Picture perfect in every way. Josef Chromy Wines has it all, top quality and tasty food, great wine, great service and picturesque views of the gardens and vines. There is nothing I can fault or would change. Every plate of food not only looked fantastic but most importantly, they all tasted so good. It was certainly value for money. Looking forward to returning the next time we cross the Strait from Melbourne.

Sleek, contemporary restaurant with beautifully-done mod Oz cuisine in a lovely countryside location. The brasserie, serving more casual fare, spreads out onto the surrounding verandah, right up against the windowside restaurant tables, which makes for a slightly odd contrast in dining experiences, but it’s still a lovely day out.

Very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. We did the "Let's do Lunch" package which included 2 courses a their hatted restaurant as well as a tasting beforehand. The staff were friendly and professional.

n amazing grazing lunch with some sparkling rose at @josefchromywines today. It’s been 12 months since our last visit and it didn’t disappoint. Grazing platter with a side of potatoes was just what we needed and the sparking rose was perfect. Love this winery. ‘Til next year - merry Xmas!

Great setting on the waterfront. Sat outside so I think as we were only one of two tables there, service was a little slow. Garlic pizza was great, vegetable curry and duck salad was tasty with a good latte to go. We will be back .

We loved this restaurant so much we visited 2 nights in a row. The first night we sat on the back patio while it rained lightly. The hot chocolate and the cool breeze went well together. The second night, we arrived at a moment where many people were paying for their bill, so we had to wait a bit for the cashier and host to be available to seat us. The bartenders, ever so proactive and aware, offered us drinks on the house for the inconvenience. I was delightfully surprised. The wonderful service followed by the delicious food was a memorable night for us in Launceston.

Recently flew down to Launceston from Brisbane and made a point of dining at Levee Food as I had read great reviews about this restaurant. We weren't disappointed. The meal I had consisting of crumbed Tasmanian scallops and crispy skin Salmon were cooked to perfection. Customer service was excellent, very friendly staff always seeing to your needs. We were so impressed we went back two days later, this time for the best pizza in town. See you next time we're in Launceston, worth 5 stars if not more.

The review mentioned ‘best fish and chips ever’, so I was intrigued. It didn’t disappoint. Fish was fresh and tasty, not over fried. The fries are excellent, crispy and yet not too salty.

The staff were pretty kind and took us straight to our table. I ordered a steak which was pretty good and then got a delicious ice cream. This place was very kid friendly and I think you would enjoy it!

Unfortunately just had one of the worst meal I ever had. Whilst the atmosphere and view were really nice, and staff are pretty good, I have quite a few food restrictions so I opted for a vegetarian amok curry with rice. I wasn’t expecting something from a Thai restaurant but you would expect some effort for a $30 dish. Boy, I was wrong. Rice wasn’t cooked properly, mushy on the outside and hard on the inside. They obviously don’t know how to cook rice properly. Curry itself wasn’t great, so plus the horrible texture of the rice, I could barely ate three spoonful of it. I complained to the waiter who said he will get me a new rice, it was slightly better but still, my rice cooker would still do 10x better job than their chef. Partner had oyster which he said was nice, and bbq chicken pizza was ok. Overall for a such restaurant to serve a dish like that isn’t acceptable for me. I literally left hungry and definitely not worth $30.

Levee was exceptional! Prime location. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. Friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the steak and salmon both were delicious, fresh and perfectly cooked. Gelato to finish was a treat!

I visited here after a long day travelling to Launceston. As a coeliac, they were very understanding and accommodating to me. Staff were super helpful and all around pleasant. A very happy vibe. I had the shredded duck risotto. My goodness me. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Very gluten free friendly. 🥰

Fantastic experience! Friendly staff and delicious food. It's pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for. So, it's well worth it! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it, although it was difficult to communicate and figure out whether the restaurant was open (we tried calling and instagram message). Also, a few items on the menu were sold out - oysters & a specific beer I wanted. But that's fine, it was public holiday and it was very busy - you could see staff was working hard and at a fast pace, so it does need to be taken into account. We had a beef tartare and a the Mushroom + truffle + prosciutto pizza that was really, really good! All in all, brilliant food, friendly staff and great environment. It is what matters. 5-star rating. Thanks!

Battered fish was disgraceful. What did they do? Scrape the bottom of the batter bowl? Add water? It was awful. Did not seem to care when we complained. Don't order fish and chips.

The absolute worst place that I visited during my trip to Launceston. While the Donzelle was a delicious starter, it's not hard to fry dough and salt it. The second I was seated all I could think about was the ridiculous amounts of lights in the medium sized restaunt, i felt as if I needed sunglasses or a weilding helmet to see. Despite this, I was excited to try the Tasmanian soy poached salmon and my company ordered the salmon again and the pork belly, it took 50minutes since ordering for our mains to come out and when they did it was a disaster. The both of the salmon "slabs" were like rock, it looked okay from afar but I stabbed it with fork then hit the whole piece against my plate, it did not break. It was like a cement bar.... I've had well done salmon but this was next level horrible. It was as if they had been cooking for the whole 50 minutes it took to be made additionally I was missing my brocolini and was not informed of any shortages . On the other hand the pork belly was nice and well cooked but after the salmon... disappointment. I was not waiting another 50 minutes for their chef to figure out how to poach salmon. For a $42 dish that was unacceptable.

Great vegan menu. Great service. Extensive wine list. I drank a glass of NV Jansz sparkling which was an excellent expression of Tasmanian sparkling and would please most champagne seekers for 1/10th of the price. The donzelle (fried salted savoury doughnut) to start with a tomato pomodoro sauce was comforting and really appetising. For main I had the Moroccan seitan tajine with apricot and root vegetables. Packed full of flavour sweet yet heartily savoury. A great winter/ wet weather dish. On the side I had hassle back potatoes with a thyme bechamel and Rosemary salt. The food was so good I'm glad I took left overs but disappointed I didn't get to desert. Customer service this evening from when I walked in was exceptional from all staff. Thankyou

My partner and I went to the Metz yesterday, since I we are not here and I was craving for wood fire pizza for a loooong time, so we made a reservation and we were not disappointed. Since we were so hungry we didn’t think about taking photos. However we had two pizzas and a bowl of chips I would love to give 1more stars if I could for offering a pizza with rocket and prosciutto. I was looking for this since I left my home country (3.5 y). And 1 for having food with truffles Yum Chips were fantastic too. I love that it was served with crushed salt. I would give one more star if it would have been serviced with Rosemary too - laugh. Okay let’s talk service. God you guys have great staff. Can I have them as friends? The lady who took our is order friendly lovely and made a good recommendation. The lady who brought our food, you make people smile seriously such a sunny care bear. The lady who - okay that sounds weird- took me money. she could be like a little sister to me, she smiles, she laughs, she talks and she connects with customers. Enjoy Melbourne. Lovely restaurant , plenty of indoor seating. Nice decor and kind staff. Ordered the Truffle mushroom pizza and it was oh my so tasty! The pasta of the day was very delicious and crispy calamari salad was also divine. I appreciate they provided a separate menu tailored for dietary requirements One comment would be we waited a decent time (20mins) to get the meals, and we were there just before the restaurant started to fill up. Pretty busy for a Monday night, but still good vibe and worth the wait for the delicious food!!! Thank you

Food was good but service was fabulous. All the staff were attentive and engaging and we had a lovely meal. Reasonably priced and high quality meals in a very pleasant setting. Tables spaced out nicely and not too noisy. Would highly recommend.

Travelling in Tasmania.. We needed a light dinner and drinks. We shared a Diavolo pizza and had a couple of beers. Now we are used to impressive woodfired oven pizza in Melbourne, but this pizza rates as the best cooked pizza I've ever had! Super thin and super crispy base... no soggy bottom!! PS Diavolo was super spicy, but we like it like that!

We had never tried the place before but had to travel to Launceston for medical treatment and wanted to find something gluten free for lunch. What a gem we found! The prices were reasonable ($65 for two meals and drinks), the service was fast and friendly, and the food was really tasty. We will definitely be booking ahead next time because the owner had to fenagle us a table, but thankfully we only had two people. They’re pretty busy for a good reason.

I am glad to write the review about this cafe. Because the everything is perfect. Coffee is really good 5⭐️ Customer service 5⭐️, Place is amazing 5⭐️ and collection of spoons around the world 5⭐️. Had a great experience at this café. I was craving some chicken and waffles, and this place delivered. Very happy with the way the chicken was fried and its seasoning. Should be enough for most people but I wanted dessert too, so went for waffles and ice cream with raspberry sauce and nutella - which satisfied the sweet tooth well. Happy with the food, the interior seating arrangements, the vibe. Perhaps the biggest selling point though was the hospitality. I don't remember his name but the staff serving me was friendly, helpful and professional. Definitely one of the places in Launceston where I don't regret spending my money.

Eclectic Bliss. Went in for early lunch and loved it. Had coffee and waffles. Oh I must mention its 100% Gluten Free. They have an upstairs seating area. Staff are extreamly friendly, I actually loved it. A great place to eat and enjoy yourself.

Lots of options for vegan, gluten free etc and you can still get bacon and eggs! Child friendly. There are upstairs, downstairs and outdoor seating options. Perfect place for brunch or an afternoon coffee.

Amazing. As somewith celiac disease this place is fantastic. Great food, everything on menu can be eaten. Service is super friendly and they really know their stuff about allergens. My son loved the waffles and milkshakes. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict as well! Amazing to find places like this to eat.

Was very excited to go here as a coeliac. Come to find they have lactose free, dairy free, keto and paleo options too. A very inclusive place for people with all types of dietary restrictions - A good variety of food on the menu. I got the kfc burger and my partner got the burger of the day (pulled pork) and we left feeling both satisfied and full. The next day we got gourmet toastie and big breakfast! So good!

Matt is the greatest waiter to ever serve me, and always provides outstanding service with fantastic humour and charm. Everyone is on the same page and they deliver fantastic Gluten Free food every single time. My favourite, if not only, place for breakfast in Launceston. The Lunch is terrific too!

I stopped by on a Thursday night with no booking, hoping to get a seat at the bar. The food and drinks did not disappoint. I had the local pork cutlet and the salad were great, with amazing flavours. Really great service too

I recently had dinner at Geronimo Apertivo Bar & Restaurant and ordered oysters (natural, pepperberry mignonette & Parish Vineyard Riesling granita), the half shell scallop and the prawn, tomato, chilli, garlic, feta baguette to eat. To drink I opted for the Prince cocktail. The oysters were fresh and flavoursome, I enjoyed them all. I could taste a hint of pepper in the pepperberry and there was a slight sweetness to the granita that worked with the saltiness of the oyster. The half shell scallop was equally delicious, the bourride sauce was nice and creamy and I loved the crisp kale. The standout for me were the prawns. The broth was beautiful and comforting with a lovely tomato flavour that was soaked up by the crunchy baguette. I would happily order this again. The prince cocktail was so pretty and I loved that you can smell and taste the lavender. The complimentary asparagus popcorn was a nice touch. I was really impressed with both the menu and the service at Geronimo. Everything I ordered was delicious and the staff were helpful in assisting with menu selection. I rate it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5.

Solid quality pan-Mediterranean food. Good varieties of vegetarian dishes and side dishes. The broad beans falafel is especially excellent. Lobster pasta is excellent, although is a little short on actual lobster, delicious sauce though. Wine list by the bottle is extensive, more limited by the glass but a good range. Has outdoor tables that are dog friendly.

I don’t usually give average reviews, it’s alright hard enough to do business nowadays, so if it’s not 5 stars I usually don’t leave 3 or 4 star reviews but… Seriously not impressed with this restaurant’s attitude and food. The bar looks good, seating is alright, there’s good variety of drinks, service is okay, but the food is just blatantly disappointing. Food is served pretty bland with just one or 2 items of things on a plate, with pretty premium price for some simple items. Steak is literally just a piece of meat on a plate. Ordered medium, and the steak came out pretty much well done. Interestingly enough, the 1 piece of steak placed at the front of the row is the only one that’s cooked to medium, the rest of the pieces are all well cooked, so it feels like the chef knows that it’s overcooked, but tries to hide them all to the back row, and just put 1 good piece at the front with the hope that once the customer finds out, they won’t be bothered to ask anything. The meat is pretty hard to chew, and I don’t see anything premium in that. And the steak ALONE is $66, I really cannot justify that attitude and that price tag. Also ordered a Coke Zero, which was served in an average glass (which was half ice) and it’s okay, but what is not great is we obviously know that it’s probably only less than half a can of coke in that glass. Where is the rest of the can? One of the waitress was happily holding in and drinking it next to the bar right after serving us. Let me guess, we only paid for half of the can, didn’t we? Was recommended this restaurant by a good colleague but certainly would not recommend it to anyone else I know, and will definitely NOT come back for that quality of food and for that price tag.

Food was very nicely presented, all looked amazing! Taste-wise though bit of a miss, nothing outstanding except the anchovy crostini which was unique! The king prawn ravioli was also very chewy which was weird, otherwise it would've been great. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good portion sizes.

We really enjoyed our dining experience here, although found it was too much food and on the expensive side. The decor inside is nice and it's a pretty chilled ambience. The food was all tasty. We went for the second menu option with a selection of small plates and a standard main to share. It was nice. Would recommend a visit.

Overall this restaurant has so much potential, but a cumulating list of execution errors results in a disappointing dining experience. Food The menu reads really well, and the idea of many entrees with one main and sides is great. What we received was average at best. Octopus was so over cooked we were chewing for minutes on each bite. Empanadas were alright but the onion jam was incredibly acidic. The kingfish sashimi was enjoyable, probably needs more dressing to bring the dish together. The sourdough flatbread was solid. I’d suggest having oil and balsamic or butter as a side to this. Corn ravioli was unusual but enjoyable. For main we had lobster pasta. It was as if the chef did t taste the dish before sending it out. Completely bland. No seasoning whatsoever. The sides of zucchini was average and the mixed leaves did the job. The portion sizes were overall massive. Way too much food. I’d have preferred half as much with an increase in quality of execution. There was about 400g of pasta and about 40g of lobster and 4 cherry tomatoes. Way too much pasta and not enough of everything else including sauce. For what the price was I certainly felt ripped off. Drinks I absolutely love you can get cocktails in half serves. Allows you to try your way through a few on the menu. I had intended on trying 6 half size drinks. In the end I only had 3 and the main reason was the staff lacked attentiveness. At every other restaurant I go to, when the drink is empty they take the glass and ask what to have next. I had an empty glass twice for more than 15 minutes and none of the staff noticed. Was certainly a dampener on the experience. Overall Get the chefs to taste the food and season accordingly. Adjust the portion sizes down. Make staff reasonably attentive. This place will be the best restaurant in town. It’s so so close but missed the mark in so many ways.

My taste buds are still salivating over this experience. It was heaven on a plate, such amazing options all cooked to perfection. From the meat to the veggies, and of course the dessert. I was just loving every mouth full. Definitely grab a good bottle of wine to enhance the experience. Lovely staff too, Nicole was the best! Can’t wait to be back again!!

Great food and staff set in a gorgeous building! We grabbed a table in the bar area as the restaurant was booked out and ordered our food at the bar. We had Half a dozen Natural Tasmanian Oysters, Cauliflower Tacos and the Pork Belly Cos Cups (extra info with pics). The food was really delicious - especially the Tacos - only drawback was that the Pork was a little bit dry but other that that we loved the execution with the lettuce cups!! The staff were all really friendly in spite of it clearly being a huge day (it was Mother’s Day evening). So good to see them still smiling after what would have been a very busy time! Would definitely recommend this restaurant and if it’s booked out head to the bar, you won’t be disappointed!

You have to stop here for a feed & drink! The vibe is great, the setting is cool & the people/patrons + staff are just genuinly happy! I normally try multiple places to eat but i kept coming back and for good reason! Attached to accommodation so it's a one stop shop.

The service and atmosphere was great. But the food.. absolutely terrible. And I don't just speak for myself. I speak for a table of 10. After completely forgetting meals- they then get served raw. Steaks were warm that the big slab of butter sitting on top hadn't even melted in the slightest. They need a new chef, pronto.

I loved almost everything about this place. The atmosphere was cosy except for those damn cold metal chairs. They are uncomfortable, cold and not in keeping with the decor. They spoil the warm atmosphere. Surely you could spend some $$$ on some nice chairs. The food was reasonably priced, and tasty. A diverse menu to choose from.

We loved our experience in this Bar. We stayed in the bar area, and had some wine with our food. We ordered pizza for entree, and for main we had Parmi, which I believe is the best one in town. Beautiful building, and good service made the experience great overall. We will definitely be back.

I love to have a few beers here. Staff are very friendly. Atmosphere in the place is amazing. especially at night. Plenty of places to eat indoor or outdoor during the day. I havnt had a meal there for a while but from what I remember it's good quality portioned food. Good spot to bring kids too. Parking can be an issue around dinner due to another restaurant close by. Get in early enough and your set. Worth a stop for a bite or a beer.

Extremely delicious food. Great venue options for celebration dinners or gatherings. Love the Robin Hood castle decor (except the hunting heads and such, not my thing) Clean bathrooms and service was polite and friendly. I'd suggest the chicken and mushrooms. Little disappointed on the Paris patatoes other than that the costs, expections and night was delightful 🙂

It’s so nice to read about the history of the building, and seating outside you can enjoy the old feel of the English style buildings. They gave us complementary bread with butter and salt which was nice. I tried their parmi with their special sauce instead of traditional sauce. The idea sounded great, but when it came, it didn’t taste great. I think they need to be more generous with the cheese because it would make it better, but in general it was pretty boring and slightly burned and dry. I asked for veggies instead of salad which they gave generously which I appreciated. Chips are not bad. My husband had bourbon pork tacos and he said it was ok. So unfortunately overall great atmosphere and service but the food wasnt great.

Worst and most expensive mexican cuisine experience I've ever had. Price/quality is by far the worst I've had in my entire life. If you are Mexican and reading this, please, never go in there. RUN as far as you can. Two things to highlight as the utter failure: Cactus bread, 11.95$; this is literally just a pizza. I guess they call it cactus bread as the base is thin'n crispy, topped up with tomato sauce from ALDI and cheese from Woolworth. I'd change its name on the menu 100% so that people don't freak out when getting served a margarita pizza... 3 some entree (3 dips). Frijoles dip, guacamole (feeling like the dip from ALDI) and some cheese with capsicum dip (maybe from Woolworth this one). Don't let the name of this starter blur your mind. 30$ for ALDI nachos with ALDI/Woolworth dips. Anyone can build up this platter at home for 8$ max in 2 minutes. Next level unreal. Mains were slightly better but overpriced. 165$ for 3 people. The amount of food was good, the quality was just bad, very bad. This ain't Mexican food. Its the classic Anglo-Saxon style ruining international cuisines. AVOID at any cost. I really wonder what people understand by nice Mexican food with all these 5 star reviews. People taste is out of control.

One of the best spots in town! Weather it’s date night or meeting with friends the prickly cactus is one of the best spots I’ve been to in Launceston! Super fast service and meals cooked fresh. I got the sizzling fajitas that was served on a hot plate while popping and crackling! Very impressive. We got their famous “fishbowl” cocktail, we went with the blackcurrant flavour to share. Very pleasant & easy to drink! Got us both a little tipsy during the meal. We’d even manage to save $8 due to ordering during happy hour. Only dislike is that the bottom floor room we were placed in at 6pm was very very hot even with the windows open. Was sweating up a storm! Other then that we will be back next time!

Nice decor and ambiance. The meals we tried were perfectly good. One of the meals was described as being very hot and 'for the adventurous only'....it was very very spicy. Probably spicier then we would have liked...but we were warned! The dessert options were quite good, we enjoyed them all

Really, really bad. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but people really are being scammed out of their money here. Ridiculously expensive (I understand food in Tasmania is quite pricey at the moment, but there are much better places that serve much cheaper food than this place) and very bad quality. The tomato sauce that everything is topped with is literally just store bought, I don't even think they add any spices to it or anything. Just plain tomato sauce. The meals that come with rice and salad on the side are ridiculous - you get a serving of rice and salad and a little bit of whatever you ACTUALLY ordered on the side. The vegetables that are in the rice taste like they've been bought frozen. You know that frozen carrot taste? Yeah, exactly that. Do not eat here. It is a HUGE waste of money and I wish I'd done a more thorough check of the reviews before I spent all that money for something I could make better at home for infinitely cheaper. Huge disappointment. Not fresh, not tasty, certainly not worth the money.

We tried the special Mac and cheese balls. They were pretty floury and needed more than just a tomato sauce to bring them to life. Has a pulled pork Quesadilla add spice which was nice and surprisingly a good selection of veg in it. The chicken chimichanga was small but once again spice added to give it some flavour. Staff were friendly but seemed to be a busy Tues and they were a bit understaffed. Fishbowl margaritas in happy hour are a good deal but be interested in how much tequila is actually in them. Overall not bad but could be better.... Inside could use a bit more theme to make it feel like a Mexican restaurant instead of just any normal restaurant.

When you have a huge party to feed, Mexican is the best way to go. We booked for the Prickly Cactus at 7pm and let's just say we had one unforgettable night here. We were assigned to a room upstairs alongside another group which wan't an issue at all if we weren't in a warmer Launceston. Few minutes in, the upper loft was boiling with no air-conditioning and the only reprieve being the open windows. The numerous hot bodies in the room didn't help with the suffocating atmosphere and displeasure hovering around. Merely two servers were allocated to cater two tables of 20+ people which is unbelievable considering the tough demand. As a result, we were light-headed and restless trying to remember our orders by the time the waitresses came to our table. The wait was so excruciating, I began to imagine that the calacas artwork on the walls were telling of my doom! Eventually, our orders were rapidly placed and came out by 8pm to our groans of excitement. Firstly, I have to applaud the servers for managing both tables with patience, zeal and a smile throughout the night. It's no easy task to keep a crowd happy while running up and down the stairs delivering food and communicating with the kitchen. Such a momentous effort deserves endless praise and earns my respect. We finally dug into our food and the chimichanga immediately stood out with its gorgeous deep-fried sheen and a robe of salsa draped upon it. You'll be living like a king once you get a mouthful of the delicate pulled beef intertwined with stringy cheese. The rich flavour is off the charts and even better with the crunch of the deep-fried tortilla. Although the salsa and sour cream helps with reducing the heaviness, the magnificent chimichanga speaks for itself. Each dish comes with nondescript side salad and a bed of rice with corn and carrots mixed in. The rice has an uncanny orange tinge that resembles with Uncle Ben's microwave rice, lacking in pungent seasoning to elevate it as supplementary rather than secondary. Despite being somewhat underwhelming, the rice feels more integral to the Avocado Mariscos, a massive baked plate of fish, prawns and cheese over a whole avocado. The avocado was perfectly ripe to serve as a creamy paste spread on the succulent prawns or flaky fish. From the nuttiness of the avocado to the fatty cheese, all the layers and textures demonstrate the cohesion of the scrumptious dish. We had a side of frijoles that startlingly came in a tiny dipping bowl, a portion not enough to feed a baby. The frijoles were pinto beans wallowing in the tepid salsa with a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese on top. I guess for $4 that may be most you get but the presentation needs to be drastically improved. Although you won't get an authentic and culturally resonant experience, Prickly Cactus competently opens a small window into Mexican cuisine for the Tasmanian locale. Too bad upstairs dining is hotter than their menu!

The staff were all really lovely and helpful. I was kinda disappointed though that I ordered an onion free meal, but my food still had a couple bits of red onion and visible bits of spring onion through it. Other than that, the food was good.

A fabulous evening meal with lovely staff and delicious food. The menu has a few different items. I had Pollo - beautiful stuffed chook breast with avocado (the breast was so succulent with crispy skin on top). My wife had baked avocado with seafood on top-yummo!!!

Came here for dinner. Seemed like they were understaffed possibly as we had to wait 15 mins for them to set our table up, even though it wasn’t completely busy inside once we got it. Food was nice though I would say a little pricey. Menu displayed on the window must be old as the prices on the menus inside are slightly more expensive. Staff were friendly and attentive.

The food is really nice here. And I’m actually surprised by the portion size. We can’t hardly finish one main with two heads. And the pizza like bread is just amazing! Really nice and friendly staff here, 100% lgbtq friendly.

Rating: below zero! Absolutely terrible food. I advise, do not go if you like Mexican food. Here's why: ordered chicken quesadilla. - Chicken was bland no spice (meant to have fajita mix flavour) - The avocado was just a half cut avocado on top, under the sauce (not sliced, not guac) - Contents inside was stir-fry veggies you get from Coles, I'm talking chunks of carrot, broccoli, capsicum and onion. Since when has Mexican had chunks of stir fry veggies like this. Where's the salsa, the corn salsa, the onion salsa, beans even! The flavour! - The "salsa" on top was like a tomato puree (again tasted like stuff from Coles) The taste of the dish was so bland it was like a terrible stir fry thrown in a tortilla. No coriander (for those who like it), no guac, no sour cream, no bottle of hot sauce option on the side. On the side though, was a salad, consisting of rocket and minimal tiny pieces of cucumber along with a few corn kernels. Covered in a salad dressing of all things. Not to mention, the Corona was not Australian, was imported from a Philippines distributor. Weird!! This "Mexican" restaurant should be ashamed to be labelled as Mexican food. Dine if you dare! Jan 2024: lovely space at the top of the gorge chairlift. Not as overpriced as you'd imagine a touristy location like this would be, but still a little too expansive for what is served. 80c per sour cream and 80c per sweet Chili pot, when they should have come automatically with the wedges. Other meals seemed ok, but we weren't famished. Service was lovely, but the queues are sometimes way too long, so we are elsewhere

Stunning views over Cataract Gorge, good food, relaxed service. The Gorge itself is amazing . How lucky we are in Tasmania. Well worth a day of walks as easy or difficult as you choose

We stopped at the Cafe next to the gardens. Peacocks were strolling everywhere, such a lovely environment. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Coffee was delicious. All other snack food we ordered was delicious too and quick to come out. Highly recommend this Cafe. Also very good value for money.

Had dinner with friends. Warm welcome on arrival. The restaurant was empty. Quick table service with menus and beverages. Bread was nice for starter. Mains looked well presented. Duck was dry. Pork Belly crackle dud, not snap. OK portions sizes. Dessert tasty. High price point.

Seldomly did we have such a memorable dinner! The menu is short, but the dishes are absolutely fantastic. The wine was superb. As we were in the midst of our main course, a peacock landed directly next to our table and saw to it that we were entertained 😀 However, as we paid for our dinner, our waitress handed us the wrong bill (which was about twice as much as we should have paid). Luckily, I noticed that there was something wrong with the bill. I don't think that it was intentional, and I put it down as a slip-up, but I need to say that it leaves a sour taste to what was otherwise an awesome experience.

Brilliant mulled wine, calamari and lamb shoulder. Classy atmosphere, but they seem ok with people being in hiking gear. Loved it

The service was fantastic. The venue is pretty and relaxing. The food was a let down. Disappointing trio of dips and lamb shoulder. The lamb shoulder would have been something I'd expect in a pub lunch special.

My wife and I travel down to Tassie every winter and The Gorge Restaurant is always on our list, Small intimate restaurant with a warm fire place, very friendly service and fine dining quality food with good portion sizes, We will certainly be back again!

Perfect food, great service and a stunning location. I was so impressed with my recent dining experience at the Gorge Restaurant. There was a large group of us, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Our table were raving about the seafood chowder. I had the calamari for entree - which was beautifully soft. The steak for main which was perfectly cooked and excellent value. The hazelnut Roche for dessert - I love chocolate so this was absolute heaven on a plate. There is also a fantastic selection of wine and cocktails to choose from. I highly recommend dinner at the Gorge Restaurant.

First time to come to this Italian Restaurant. It’s about 8 minutes via taxi from the hotel I stayed (cost about 10-11 dollars). Great selection of food. Ordered Ravioli, Garlic Prawn, Meat Lovers Pizza and a dessert. What i love the most is the Garlic Prawn. It is very yummy.

Good food and good prices, nice environment too. Only thing that taking away a 5 stars ranking is that after meal they asked me to wait in the long crowded line of customer who's waiting for take away or be seated in order to pay my bill...... How hard is to just tap my card and let me go.... It didn't even needed the pin or signature....

Walked in tonight & enjoyed delicious authentic Italian food with friendly service. Will definitely come again when in town. Leave room for desert is my recommendation!! The tiramisu is so light & delicious, but no time for a photo of it!

A warm friendly experience with very attentive waiters. Scotch fillet, chips, salad and a glass of Tasmanian red. A simple meal but oh so tasty. The perfect end to the day.

Looking for a place where you can get plenty Vegetarian options in Launceston? Then try La cantina. We had Minestrone vegetable soup, that was great in taste. We also had Spaghetti al Pomodoro and Rigatoni Vegetarian pasta. Both these dishes were well made and tasted nice. Place also had a good number of wines for you to select and try. We also had a chocolate torte which was good but I regretted not ordering mint icecream at the restaurant.

Beautiful food and restaurant, however unfortunately this has been soured as of late as la cantina has risen their already high-end prices around $2.50-5 per meal. This would not be an issue, however the restaurant crafts mainly pasta based dishes which are quite cheap from a wholesale point of view, also dining in was already $2.50-5 more per meal for no apparent reason. Don't get me wrong, great food and atmosphere, however at one time me and my partner would avoid competition such as the prickly cactus due to high prices, last week we thought it much cheaper and more beneficial to head their instead. Pasta dishes should not be $31 takeaway and $34 for dine in service, it's simply unsustainable and I'll will toward regular patrons. Although the food is nice, it's not worth getting a dine in charge after already have risen prices.

I came across this restaurant when looking for a nice place for dinner in the area and I was probably lucky to get a table without a reservation. The atmosphere was cosy and the staff were friendly. The dishes were spot on with the freshness of the ingredients as well as the abundance of flavours. The portion was reasonable. Having a meal here has definitely made my stop by at Launceston more memorable.

The inside of the restaurant was beautiful! Service was also quick. The Margherita pizza tasted very much like bakers delight/banjos bakery Margherita roll, but bigger and warmer. Nothing too exciting. The tiramisu was frozen, with cheap chocolate sauce on top which said enough about the dessert. Very disappointed.

Gréât expérience - the staff were amazing and pasta fantastic! But the garlic pizza was a thick breaded pizza with tomato and cheese. The herb pizza was thin crust so 2 very different starters (garlic vs herb pizza bread)

Went here on Good Friday and had an average experience. Only positive is the friendly staff. The donburi was very average and chips were stale. Hard to go wrong with a parmi but this one wasn’t up to the mark. Avoid.

My husband and I had our first meal in Launceston here and we both thought it was pretty good! Unfortunately we didn’t book so we had to eat at the bar or outside. I had the crispy pork belly with greens and soy broth and shared the garlic pizza. Both were delicious! The staff were friendly and suggested some tasty gins. Thank you guys!

Place looks and smells good. For a pub menu it has some interesting twists, staff lack engagement and follow through. No cutlery served, an none in the self serve…….. pork belly was a disappointment for the price, not bad, but not what I would expect from a chef. Definitely lacks enthusiasm.

Great place for lunch! Spicy chicken Bao buns were a great blend of flavours, very spicy and served with a huge amount of chips. The parmi was perfectly cooked and the cob loaf was tasty, served with a crunchy salad.

Dined here this evening (3/12/23) Customer service was amazing with the wait staff being very friendly and knowledgeable especially about the gins. Overall the food was good the hummus and onion rings were great the roasted chick peas were a great addition to the hummus. Onion rings were nice and not overly oily like most. The steak was great and cooked well (however the accompanying butter was a little salty). The steak came with nice sides (pumpkin purée, roast potatoes and broccolini) the mushroom sauce was a little disappointing it was very thick. The Salmon was good however a tiny bit over cooked for my taste. The mushed peas were nice and minty. The fried whiting and chips Were good as well. Overall a pleasant dining experience with good food and good prices. The customer service was top notch.

I walked into alchemy, I stood at the bar I asked the lady behind the bar, I’m looking for some food what’s good or what do you recommend she looked at me and was like… EVERYTHING. She could of said well we sell a lot of and listed a few of the most orders items. Well I went the the southern fried chicken burger. Was actually really delicious it was like a sweet Thai chilli except a lot more spice. It als had a lot of ginger was amazing. 5 stars for the food the lady behind the bar just ruined my experience

Popped in here last night by chance and so glad we did. The food was fantastic but the service was exceptional, the young girl who was working should be rewarded for the service she provided. She was attentive, prompt and polite. The steak sandwich and the salmon were top shelf. Thank you for a great dinner.

Great food and decent service. This place was very busy when my wife and I visited, we did not have a booking but they were able to accommodate us and we weren't disappointed by the experience. Our meals were delicious and a decent size and our cocktails were yummy. Being a bar and restaurant, it was a bit on the noisy side, but what do you expect, especially when it was busy. Very enjoyable.

The dishes we ordered had some nice flavours but we wished overall that there was more of it or the flavours were stronger. The salmon dish was delicious and cooked well with the tasty side of the minted peas. Pumpkin bites were also delicious. The Asian dishes weren't done very well though 🫠 the pho is not pho. The soup base, noodles used and the rest of the ingredients are completely different. Pho uses some medium sized rice noodles that are flat whereas here vermicelli was used instead and there's no bok choy or enoki mushrooms in pho. If anything it's more chinese. Spring onions, onions and cilantro should be used and traditionally, beef is more commonly used. More accurate to just call it an Asian noodle soup. And the Thai noodle salad was very bland and dry. There's no sauce which is what makes or breaks the salad and it should be sweet, savoury, spicy and sour but it was a bunch of thin dry rice noodles and chopped up veg thrown together. I think it's important to cover the basics of Asian flavours before calling it what it's supposed to be 🫠 a good attempt but not even close. Service was outstanding though, very friendly.

Went for a hot Tom Yum soup because it was freezing and boy, was it yum! The basil chicken and prawn dish were excellent. Possibly the best Thai meal I've ever had. The owner was a lovely gentleman who gave all the credit tongue wife, the chef, when we complimented the food. Excellent service. Clean table, chairs and cutlery and crockery. Do yourself a favour and visit. Will happily return.

Tasty Thai and great service! We were greeted instantly and taken to a table in a ‘quiet’ corner as there was a table of 10 in the centre. Note: I really love it when restaurants do this as opposed to seating everyone on top of each other so it’s easier for them to serve us! We ordered the Basil Lamb and Pad Si-Eww with Chicken and Coconut Rice and the dishes all came out quickly. Every dish was super tasty and we really couldn’t pick a favourite as they were all so delicious. We also loved that they listed take away containers on the menu, another plus so you don’t have to worry if you over order. Would definitely recommend this restaurant - with attentive staff and great food I know that we’ll be back!

Food is delicious and is Thai, probably with some localisation to local palate. The cook is Thai, the boss' wife. Service is good with the staff checking on us throughout the meal. They served small plates for the entree and changed new cutlery & bigger plates for the main dishes. Dishes were cleared whenever we completed them. It was popular as half the restaurant was occupied when we arrived and good flow of new customers through our meal.

Great place for dinner, pretty inside, staff were excellent and the food great. We ain't normally do 3 courses but everything was appealing. Mixed entree, a couple of mains and dessert and a bottle of local Pinot. Thanks!

The 2 stir fry dishes consisted of some tofu, carrot and broccoli, with different sauces. Small portions and lacking Thai style flavour. 2 soft drinks and these 2 meals with a small boiled rice for 1, $63 . NOT HAPPY JAN!! I would not go here again.

Jungle curry chicken: pleasant but nothing special Prawn salad: excellent authentic flavour and prawns perfectly al dente, fresh and and crispy Star prawns: the prawns themselves were excellent but the sauce itself was just like a curry powder paste and underwhelming Saffron rice: really good Overall, a very good lunch but pricey!

Authentic and good quality Thai food. The Tom yum soup was my favourite dish & totally on point - you can tell the spices were made from scratch and not from a bottle!

We tried entrees, mains and desserts and it was all absolutely delicious! The service was a little slow but definitely worth the wait. Would definitely recommend this place for Chinese cuisine in Launceston - I wish we could get this quality food in our home town!

First time eating here and can't wait to go back and try more! Greeted by two friendly young staff and quickly seated, very helpful with the menu and detailing a few questions we had with the meals, food was piping hot and delicious! I'm not a huge fan of fried rice but my partner got the vegetarian fried rice and I almost ate it all on her!

What has happened ? This place before Christmas was superb and fast pick up and delivery. I have also experienced a two and half hour wait which ended up being cancelled ( just after Christmas ). New owners ? Owners away ? I would love to see this place return to how it was. Everything was delicious and fresh. Any good recent reviews ?

Let me preface by saying the front of house workers were lovely, however the wait was far too long. It took over an hour for our food to come from ordering, even the entree, soup and won tons took over an hour. I can understand it was busy but it seems from other reviews this is a common issue. I appreciated all the gluten free options, and my food was lovely, just wish it was a little quicker

Had a meal at Wang's Chinese a day after Christmas 2022. Ordered Chicken Fillet with Cashew Nut, Seafood & Tofu Hot Pot, and Pork Spare Rib with Peking Sauce (I believe this is the last dish). Generally, we found the food average and portions could be bigger. Of the three dishes, the spare ribs were the best.

The staff were caring and attentive to their customers in the restaurant, I quite liked the atmosphere and deco it had, they were short staffed yet they still managed to get our orders in a decent amount of time, all our meal were excellent with all their meat sourced locally.

Spacious Chinese restaurant. Prompt and friendly service and delish food. Reasonable pricing with good portion. Highly recommended

Lack of service and food quality. Order taken but drinks order was not taken. Had to wait for the other waitress and when drinks were delivered the Diet Coke was flat and Tonic Water delivered instead of Sparkling Water. We ordered chicken Sang Choy Bao and got beef in the smallest lettuce leaf ever seen. Chicken and corn soup took over 40 mins to arrive. Overall a very unpleasant experience and would not recommend this restaurant.

We went on New Year’s Day so I’m not sure if our experience was just normal for this restaurant? We were greeted and seated quickly which was good. And the staff was very friendly. Order was taken very quickly but the wait for our food was long! And worse, the waitress brought us someone else’s food. The table next to us kept looking at our table knowing it was their food and not ours and then waitress did it again but this time around brought our food to another table! I think she’s new so not a big deal normally. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also, the restaurant was full but had only 1 waitress (who was new?) that was visibly attending to everyone. They brought us our dishes but took a long time to bring us rice. And brought rice for the next table but they had no food to eat with the rice! They forgot to bring us tea. We ordered, asked again after awhile. They came back to ask if oolong tea was fine. We said ok. Waited some more and still no tea. I gave up and just told the waitress to just forget it since all the food had come and we were nearly done. At least, we had water. Some food was really well cooked and good but some was just not. Fried rice was good but sweet and sour pork and the deep fried chicken with honey sauce was soggy. Seafood hotpot was very yummy but for $31, portion was small. Overall, we felt that the food was pricy and not satisfying.

i love this place. excellent food, lovely servers!! i had the pulled pork burger last week and couldn't stop thinking about it so i came back for another!!! i really reccommend it, spicy, sweet, salty. just the perfect burger and the apple slaw is divine. lovely fresh salad too!! the service was quick and the staff are very friendly and approachable. looking forward to coming back soon to try something new!

Highly disappointed with the service this morning. Normally, this place is amazing. Great food and good service, however on this occasion my breakfast was served with fried eggs when I asked for poached and there was a hair in my mushrooms. The server asked if I would like to send it back and of course I said yes. She seemed annoyed at this request apologised and took the food back. I was expecting to get a fresh cooked meal after this but what I appear to have gotten was a fixed up plate where they have removed the affected mushrooms waited five minutes and reserved me the same meal. The meal was barely warm and not very tasty. Not to mention the disgusted feeling I got while eating it knowing that the rest of my mushrooms and food were still around this person’s hair. I was made to feel as I if I was a hassle by asking to have my meal replaced. Highly unacceptable and unsanitary.

Fantastic breakfast so many delicious options to choose from i has the sweet chilli eggs… lovely cafe setup great menu and excellent presentation…. Can get a little noisy at times my only feedback is to install ceiling noise absorbing panels

Revisited after many years. Great location. Enjoyed my brunch. The food was delicious. There was a great menu choice. There was a lot of buzz from happy diners and chatters.

Very quiet on the day of our visit. Two other tables of 'more mature' people and us two oldies. The lack of fabric in the room makes it quite noisy, and the music, appears to have been chosen for the benefit of the young staff rather than the audience. The food that we ordered from the enormous menu arrived quite quickly, and was generous and good. Coffee was too milky. Would we go back? Possibly, if we were in the area.

We had breakfast on a Sunday . When we rock up was quite but soon it got very busy . Staff were nice and food was great . Coffee could improve but overall good experience.

Really tasty American style pancakes served with maple syrup, strawberries and cream! The maple syrup was really cold as if it was in the fridge which cooled the pancakes down a bit, but they were still super tasty! Also really yummy oat milk hot chocolate served with homemade short bread and marshmallows are always a nice touch! Staff were super lovely, excellent service and there’s a lovely view of a park just outside.

I hobbled in with my stick and was approached swiftly without a smile and given a seat, the staff are polite and respectful. The warm muffin and coffee were great and they appreciated the tip I have. I will definitely return

Cuccina was recommended to us but we probably won't return. Extremely noisy with no attempt to dampen the acoustics but mostly disappointed with staff. We were a party of four that tried book ahead but nobody answered phone. We arrived anyway and were turned away rudely despite there being obvious space. We get that it's often busy but the staff barely seemed able to run the place.

Stopped by Launceston for a breakkie on our way to Ben Lomond and happy that we came to this cafe. It was pretty busy on weekend, and I could understand why. Generous portion for food, both big steak burger and battered snapper were delicious), servers were good. Overall great ambience.

We lived close by to the restaurant during our recent trip to Launceston and it was a happy find for dinner, for consecutive nights, with whole day being enjoyable out in the sun. Ambience is on dot, good seating and great service. All our requests were well tended. We probably raked through most of the vegetarian options, ordered Dal Makhani, Mix veg Korma, Kadai Paneer with Roti, Saffron rice and Veg Biriyani. The spice levels were adjusted as requested on the curries, and the flavours really came through. The veggies in Kurma were under cooked and a bit raw which made the curry less enjoyable. While dining in, the portions were generous, but quite less when did take away the next day. The prices are almost reasonable, especially if you consider the place setting and atmosphere.

This quaint Indian restaurant located off Launceston city centre was a pleasant surprise. The store front is simple and almost uninviting but the inside is charming, bright and modern. I was a bit worried about the quality of service we were going to receive because of the poorly dressed, uninterested waitress that greeted us on entry as she disappeared into the kitchen shouting "Sit at any table you want!" from behind the divider. She could definitely take up a waitressing course or watch a YouTube video to improve her skills. But as soon as the main waitress behind the till, elegantly dressed in a beautiful laced black dress shirt took over, the evening turned into one of our more memorable dining experiences during our stay in Tasmania. She provided excellent table service and was quite sociable. She checked on our condition throughout the meal and did not hesitate to fulfill our needs. The food was just as stellar. We ordered the standard butter chicken, papadums, roti and naan and was not disappointed. Meal was spiced to perfection while the curry sauce was thick and slightly buttery. Absolute heaven to the tongue. We cleaned up our plates proudly. Bread was also cooked extremely well, exhibiting a balanced texture of crunch and softness. It definitely complemented the curry in delectable matrimony. Overall I believe this is a dining experience not to be missed and you will be guaranteed excellent Indian food by checking out Cinnamon Café.

A very good find, nice ambience for dine-in with good service. The food was excellent. We asked for Indian hot and we got what we wanted! The chicken vindaloo and bihari dum gosht was absolutely delicious. Would recommend giving this place a try.

Sat in a beautifully decorated restaurant, being served by friendly,helpful staff we had a delicious dinner. My goat curry was perfect accompanied by the best naan this side of India....will definitely be back, thank you Cinnamon 😋

After so many days, i thought i would have great time with my family. We ordered some food. Food was ok, and very much expensive. We ordered a platter, which comea with 2 lamb pieces and 4 small chicken pieces. We paid $45, only for these few pieces. Very much disappointed. It is ok, some restaurants are expensive because they provide expceptional food with good quality. We paid $100 for tasteless food. Will never go back, and never recommend to anyone.... worse experience

Rang and ordered ahead for takeaway. One butter chicken, one container of rice, two naan bread and two serves of samosa cost $70.00. I think it would have to be the worst butter chicken I’ve ever had. Barely any flavour at all and about seven small pieces of chicken with no charring like you would expect. I was eating with an Indian friend and he couldn’t eat the butter chicken. The samosas were not home-made like you would expect for that price. The garlic naan was the only reasonably decent thing in the whole meal. I ordered raita as well which wasn’t put in the bag. Definitely will not order from here again. We made the order on Sunday, 5 November and picked it up at 5:44 pm in the restaurant. Not sure why you are telling me that you were closed for a couple of days?? I’m not able to reply to you directly on this review.

My friend and I dined in. The restaurant was clean and tidy. The food was flavourful, fresh, and delicious. The friendly staff were very attentive - making sure our water glasses were topped up and our meals were to our taste. We would recommend getting a meal here.

My sister and I went for dinner. We were seated right next to the toilet. Then we got forgotten, after 20 mins had to go find waitress to place order. Forgot to give us our garlic bread we ordered. The waitress was unfriendly and couldnt care less. Very disappointed. Will never set foot in the place EVER again.

The new decor in the recently renovated Caledonian wine bar is stylish. The wines were great value for money and the food was excellent. Do yourself a favour....

the beer we wanted, keg was empty and hadn't been changed or knew it was empty. Short changed one us, when asked about it, was pretty short and still didn't want to admit they had. Only had 2 staff behind the bar, this was to look after the main bar, seat people coming in for meals and to also take meal orders (bit much on a Saturday evening.) But the beer they did have was cold...

I found a number of reasons why I won't return to this pub. In saying that, the food was very good, just way overpriced. The staff were also friendly and keen to assist. But the venue was horrible. An old dated dodgy pub. The AC didn't work, the fan didn't work. So doors front back open, then the smokers, well they dont care and of course the place filled with smoke. All in all an unpleasant experience. Some minor fixes in the restaurant side could make this a way more pleasurable visit.
