This was my first trip to Kingston. I've heard people and friends talk about attending Queens University but I had no idea of the historical heritage of this place. I was surprised to discover that Queens is the oldest University in Canada. It's heritage, history, and beauty is so tangible as you see the beautiful stone buildings that have been well preserved. Well worth the visit if you are passing through this area of Canada.

Wow! Wonderful experience at the Smith Residence for a couple of nights. Very friendly staff and a great value compared to staying in any of the area hotels. The rooms are very clean and the linens were spotless. The location is right by the water. Would definitely stay here again. The front desk staff were super nice and free coffee in the morning is a nice touch.

This is a small, ultra-high quality university located in the middle of the city. It is very elegant and understated. Definitely worth a visit.

Queens university is a great place to visit . It houses a first rate art gallery which feature the painting of Rembrandt plus many other current artists .
It is also home to Canads oldest radio station CFRC. The geology museum is a must see. It is great Spend some time walking the campus . The grounds are beautiful ,The archetecture is both historical and very modern .
The People of Queens are very friendly and would be happy to guide you some lesser known spots on campus that are hidden the treasures that most visitors don't get to see . Spend some time exploring Queens University , you won't be disappointed !

Very impressed with this University. The mix of old world architecture and new world buildings provide a nice balance for those seeking a great educational institution.

Apart from being one of the top universities in North American, it is also one of the oldest in Canada. It's architecture is Victorian, unique and beautiful. Goodes hall occupied by the commerce school, was inaugurated by Queen Victoria herself.
If you are in Kingston you should definitely at the least walk through or drive through the university campus.
It is right next to downtown Kingston. It is on the shore of Lanka Ontario as well.

The downtown campus is a beautiful site to see, The architecture around the campus is beautiful and the campus is very clean. You can feel the history. Located down by the waters edge, it is surrounded by parks, trees and water and definitely has a different feel than other campus's.

My spouse and I attended my 35th class reunion so there is a bias. However, the campus has stunning limestone buildings mixed with some modern additions. There are lots of trees and grassy areas so a lovely spot for a walk.

How do I get to the university from Toronto international airport to the 236 princess street Kingston
Go EAST on the 401. Turn off when you see Kingston, then drive SOUTH through the village if you want to go to Queens University.
Also if you try to find Kingston General Hospital, Queens University is next to it.

The others have covered the options. One thing to keep in mind is that the busses limit the amount of luggage to one suitcase. If you will be using a car Ottawa international airport (YOW) is also a nice option to get to Queen's. For being the Nation's capital YOW isn't easily accessible from Kingston via public transportation, but if you're driving it's much easier to get in and out from and doesn't have any of the heavy traffic that Toronto has. When driving from Toronto international to Queen's be sure to add some time for traffic delays in Toronto.
